Of course they were not cheap, but they were there in the middle of the night and my dogs last moments of life easing his, and our, pain.

The phone operator/receptionist was very professional, talking me off of the ledge more than once. She let me know what to expect, walked me through the cost expectations, and made me feel at ease that options would be presented to me. We were the only ones who were there once we arrived, and my dog was taken back immediately. I was presented with the $500 emergency fee. I felt like this was an acceptable fee considering it included needed x rays. It was determined shortly after arrival that my dog was very nauseous but only needed a nausea shot and no further treatment (per x rays coming back clear). They could have tried to get me to pay for his stomach being pumped or watching him for a few days, but they told me he needed the shot only and then we were discharged. Today marks a week after the incident and he is back to normal. I am glad to not have a hefty bill on my shoulders and have my dog here and healthy. The vet is always an obnoxious experience but this was pretty much as good of an experience as I could have asked for. It was clean, organized, and I appreciated the complimentary coffee as well. Something warm to hold was comforting while I was waiting on news of my dog. I appreciated that they kept the doors locked overnight.

The clinic needs to QUIT using the scare tactics to rip people off and over charge concerned pet owners. We took her to her regular vet and found she just has some allergies. Absolutely ridiculous and they tried to charge us $10k up front without any proof she needed all of that care. Do yourself favor and do not ever ever ever go here.

He got to the point this year where his white fur turned brown on his paws and hot spots from all of the licking he was doing. Dr Climer suggested an allergy test if I could afford it. It is $250 HOWEVER, given the amount of money I've spent over the years trying to get a resolution and some comfort for him, I figured this would save us money in the long run, not to mention helping him to be happier and healthier. So I had him tested. Turns out he is highly allergic to beef and corn, with mild allergies to pork. I immediately made sure his food and treats do not have these ingredients. I saw immediate results!!! I no longer have to give him Benadryl every day and he is so much happier. Thanks to Dr Climer for paying such attention to detail. We are very happy with her service overall but this was a game changer for Sunny!

My first time at this vet and will be the last time! The staff was very rude as soon as I came in!…read moreThe office is disgusting, there were cigarette ashes in the chairs. The vet tech backhanded me in the face as I was trying to help hold my puppy. She hit my eye pretty hard and although it was an accident I did not even get an apology. I had a bruise and discoloration in my eye later that day. Not only that, she started spraying disinfectant spray on the table with my puppy on the table and sprayed my leg. This girl is incompetent and definitely does not need to work around animals or people! Another girl walked in and kept dropping pills all over the floor not once or twice but three times and did not even pick them all up off the floor which makes me wonder if she was on something! If you care about your furr babies please don't take them here!!

Would give 0 stars if I could…read more I am writing this review on behalf of my parents who are so heartbroken and devastated right now by the awful "care" they received at this vet. I want to warn people before their beloved pets are ripped away from them unnecessarily, which is what happened to my family. Winston was a sweet, loving, lively bulldog. He had been walking awkwardly when my parents took him to this vet, Dr Fleming. The workup revealed bladder stones. My parents were told that the only option was surgery. No other options were offered. Trusting the professionals, my parents scheduled him for surgery 2 days later. (Afterwards, we looked it up, and treatment options for bladder stones include less invasive procedures such as a bladder scope or sound waves to break up the stones. These options were never presented to us. I can't help but be suspicious that Dr. Fleming didn't offer these options, as it might mean she'd had to refer us to another practice, thus reducing her own payout on this innocent, furry patient.) Hindsight is 20/20, because only later did we think about the fact that Winston had also been diagnosed with a UTI, but this infection was never confirmed to be cleared before surgery was performed. As you might expect, he was doing very poorly after surgery. He wasn't eating, drinking, and seemed uncharacteristically miserable. We called North Madison Animal Hospital and brought him in first thing in the morning. They kept him the remainder of that day, but they closed at 5 pm and we had to take him home. He still wasn't eating or drinking, so we took him to the animal emergency room, where he slowly/painfully passed away from infection/sepsis. This incident was so tragic because we put our trust in Dr Fleming, and when she saw Winston, she didn't see an adored member of our family, she saw dollar signs. She didn't see the companion who snuggled up with my Dad while he's sick, or the playful puppy who loved chasing water from the hose with my brother, or the loyal dog sprinting to my mom when she got home from a long trip. Dr Fleming saw an opportunity. My parents trusted her to advise them to do the right thing for their fur-baby, but she tragically, egregiously, heartlessly let them down. Even worse, she let an innocent animal down and subjected him to needless suffering. I strongly caution you to think twice before you bring your pet here. Dr Fleming not only took away a piece of our hearts, but she also chipped away at our trust of the veterinary profession.
