After spending an hour with Brian, I truly wished that I could have moved my loved one to another funeral home. 2 years prior, I had used DMW and was pleased. They took care of everything and helped us get what we needed as far as life insurance etc. This place made US go and pay the cemetery. DMW didn't. we had no frills, no funeral, no visitation , just a graveside service. And it was $ 4,000 more than DMW - plus we had to pay the cemetery. Our daughter just lost her mother in law. They went to DMW, is having visitation, funeral, etc and it was three thousand LESS than what we paid. if you're reading this, my sympathies. Think before you choose someone who is just out for the money, and not as helpful as he could have been. At a time of morning, I felt he took advantage of us. From now on, if I need a funeral home - this place is not it.

The individual came to our facility and stated "I really have no reason to talk to the family." The lack of compassion from this man was unfathomable. When the gurney/pt was taken to the vehicle (that was parked in the drive/road way, he said "thank you" and walked away. The family had no idea the next steps. This man was completely void of all emotion. The family and staff were so taken back. The family had one chance, one memory, one time to make this transition smooth. No condolences, words of support. NOTHING. The poor family was left confused and staff upset. I will let anyone know to not use this FH so they don't have to send their loved one there.

After my brother passed on Fathers Day i had hospice nurse contact First Wisconsin Cremation…read more Fortunately i had done some research several days before and found that local funeral homes in mauston Wisconsin area were very expensive. I was literally stunned by their price. But First Wisconsin Cremation was so reasonable and they picked up his body in the time it took to drive from beloit to mauston (about 2 hours) (this is on Fathers Day which makes it even more surprising! They provided a free urn. Will transfer ashes to fancy urn anytime. They did the work to notify social security snd whoever else needed notice. They arranged for death certification and got death certificates. The women who picked my brother up were great. I had tried to get there before they got there so I could see my brother one last time before they took him away. I was coming from Milwaukee and I was at a Father's Day lunch at the time that I got notified that he passed. So I had to finish up and drive home first and then drive to Mauston so they beat me, not by much but they were kind and let me spend 1520 minutes whatever I needed to say goodbye to my brother. I thought they were exceptionally great and kind and supportive and even gave me a hug. I had to assist them to get the gurney into a tight space next to the hospital bed that Lonny was in at his girlfriend's house. I can honestly say without hesitation that First Wisconsin cremation is the way to go if you have a loved one that you need to have taken away after they pass and to have them cremated. I was able to do the paperwork online a few days before he passed, which made it very simple and easy when he actually did pass. So save yourself some money and use First constant cremation instead of paying some ridiculous fee to a local funeral home. For his celebration of life, we are having it at a local restaurant/hotel. The room rental was $100 but since he was a local, they are waiving the room fee. We are having them provide some food for the people who come, but it would be way more expensive to do this at a funeral home.
