After having to switch insurance due to an unexpected job change, I was weary of Jackson Medical Group based on reviews. I had made a new established care appointment with Dr. Blanca Fernandez-Kline and got in pretty quickly (2 weeks). A few days prior, I received an appointment confirmation stating I would be seeing PA Jeff Garber instead. Jeff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He listened to my concerns while being patient versus rushed. They use an antiquated website/app (Elation Passport and IntakeQ) which has limited resources besides messaging. For instance, after having a head to toe physical, no specific note covering all body systems existed--even though he definitely performed one. All of the staff (front desk to assistants) were also extremely friendly and helpful. Although it is not the most modern or updated medical office (though they win with the brightest interior paint colors), it suffices. Truly the staff members make up how the medical care what it is anyhow. read more

I got new insurance and was directed to this group. Called to make an initial appointment and after going to VM multiple times, I figured out a way around it. Unfortunately I was told I needed to leave a VM and would get a call back in THREE DAYS!!! WTF!! If you can't get a callback in less than 3 days just to make an appointment in the future, I can only imagine this place is shitty and overcrowded. I hung up, called another group, a human being answered and I made an appointment for 2 weeks out. If they treat you like shit trying to get your business, it will only get worse after they have it. STAY AWAY!!! I feel compelled to leave a review and urge others not to seek medical care at Jackson Medical. I went there after experiencing a head injury. After a short exam, it was confirmed that I had a concussion. I was sent home and told to come back in a week. No CT scan, no advice on what to do, what not to do, no plan of action for care. I returned a week later and the PA asked me if I had gotten my x-rays done? I had not, nor was I aware that I was supposed to get x-rays. The PA told me that after reviewing her notes she decided it would be a good idea for me to get my head x-rayed but acknowledged that they had failed to let me know. The PA also asked me if I wanted muscle relaxers and/or migraine medication AND recommended physical therapy...for a concussion!!! All of this before a CT Scan to make certain that nothing was severely damaged. 4 weeks after my first visit, the PA finally ordered a CT Scan! The communication has been terrible. For some reason, the PA would never speak to me over the phone. She always put her medical assistant on the phone. Every time I called to check on results, they told me they left me a message. I never, not once, received a message. When I finally got the results of the CT Scan, the medical assistant stumbled through the results to me over the phone (clearly, not very competent in this area) and asked me if it all made sense because he "dumbed it down" for me. fell into a really unfortunate situation when visiting this office. initially, i hadn't even set up an appointment with jackson medical group due to the negative reviews, but my healthcare didn't listen and made them my primary care. i sucked it up and gave them a shot, but boy do i wish i just sat through another hour long phone call with my insurance. i set up an appointment for 11:30. i was called several times, several days in advance as a reminder that my appointment was for 11:30 (which is great, don't get me wrong). however, i showed up to my appointment at 11 to ensure i could fill out all of my paperwork on time. they handled everything and gave me my paperwork, but didn't seem to check me in? i filled everything out and waited in the waiting room for over an hour before being called to the back. while i was waiting, i saw others being immediately called to the back WITH their paperwork but i was asked to do it in the waiting room. there were people who were in and out of this place within fifteen minutes but as i type this, i'm still waiting to be seen. i popped my head out about fifteen minutes ago to check out what was happening and the doctors immediately hit me with "we'll be with you soon" before even letting me plead my case. this seems extremely unprofessional for a healthcare facility. read more

I'm really disappointed with this clinic. The doctor turn over rate is so high, they make me schedule two appointments every time I need to go in to establish care with the new provider. On top of that the appointments are too far out in the future to be helpful. read more

This whole facility is a place to avoid. The reception staff often forgets to submit urgent referrals, wait times in the waiting room and office take at least a half an hour each even when you are the only patient, and the doctors seem to misdiagnose or refer patients to the wrong specialists making one have to make a second appointment. Not only does it feel like a scam the staff is not discrete. A doctors assistant was talking to a patient in the waiting room and loudly announced her chronic STD medication. If I was that patient I would be beyond embarrassed. To conclude, I do not recommend anyone stopping by or giving this facility a try. Stick to their old location in Santa Barbara. read more

I recently Came down with the flu and the staff and doctors at Jackson Medical were awesome! They were able to see me on a Saturday and when I got there no wait! (Way better than having gone to Urgent Care!). The doctor answered my questions, swabbed what he needed to and gave me a Rx when I left. After my visit I had one more question and after leaving a message I got a call back within 10 minutes. The follow up on my test results was timely and professional as well. I Have been coming to Jackson medical on pacific oaks for about five years. I have always received the best care. I have had routine visits as well and sickness and pain. The providers have always taken time to explain everything to me as well and give me in detail of any aftercare I need. Prescriptions are easy to obtain and they seem to get to the pharmacy in a timely manner. I have never had to wait longer than fifteen minutes for a scheduled appointment. On referrals it takes about a day or so and I have had to call back for the correct referral but this was corrected immediately. All in all this has been one of the best medical offices I have been to here in SB. I have called for same day appointments and have been able to get one most of the time. The only thing that could make it better is that if you need blood work scans anything that warrants anything not considered routine you will be referred out to samsun it would be nice to get scans and blood work in the same facility. Small gripe considering the office is fantastic in every other way. I would recommended this office to all my friends and family. read more
