My experience with this law firm was extremely disappointing, and I'm sharing my perspective both to help others make informed decisions and to request a refund for the service I did not receive. From the beginning, I felt unsupported during a critical legal matter. What follows reflects my direct personal experience and the pattern of conduct I witnessed raises serious concerns about this firm's reliability, professionalism, and commitment to its clients with how my case was handled. In my view, the representation was inadequate and, in several ways, fell far below what I expected from a professional legal practice. The most concerning issue occurred on the day of my first trial. My attorney left the firm entirely that same day, immediately after trying my case that afternoon. This abrupt and unexpected departure, during such an important proceeding, left me without the stability, continuity, and representation I believed I had paid for. No client should have to deal with that level of disruption at such a pivotal moment. I also received written assurances from the firm's owner, Justin Sisemore, stating that he would be "personally taking lead counsel and continue to oversee my matter together with my existing legal team." In my experience, that never happened. I did not receive meaningful oversight, guidance, or the level of preparation the firm promised. Communication was inconsistent, and I often felt under-represented and uninformed throughout the process. The instability continued when a second attorney was assigned to my case, only for her to be fired two weeks after my second trial. My case remains unresolved to this day, in large part due to this constant turnover and lack of continuity. This has only added to the stress and harm caused by the firm's handling of my matter. Another major concern was a statement made in open court claiming that I had been provided with all case files this was not true. I later learned--after the judge had already exited the courtroom--that transcripts had been received by the firm, but never given or emailed to me or sent to my new lawyer's firm. From my perspective, this was not only misleading but a serious failure in communication and professionalism. Having access to those documents is essential to my case. These issues--the instability in representation, broken written promises, attorney departures at critical moments, inadequate representation, and inaccurate statements made in court--are not minor oversights. They represent a systemic failure to provide competent, ethical, and reliable legal services. Given the extent of the preventable issues I experienced, as well as the written commitments that went unfulfilled, I believe a full refund of all fees paid is appropriate and warranted. This is not simply a request, but my view of the only fair remedy based on the harm and disruption, misrepresentation, and lack of professional conduct that I experienced that was caused by the firm's handling of my case.

I've read so many…read morereviews here that put him down for a number of things - not returning calls, not getting what the client wanted, etc. If I may, I'd like to offer perspective on these things, based on my experiences with Mr. Lane and his office: First, some background. I'm finalizing a divorce where I ended up losing an animal that was so very important to me. My wife chose to use my dog as a ploy to hurt me during this divorce process, and I will no longer ever see the little guy that helped me keep my sanity on many dark and horrible nights. Having said that, Mark also negotiated a settlement for me that keeps my head well above water financially in a time where I most need it. What I'm trying to illustrate to you is this: I lost something precious to me during this divorce. It kills me emotionally. However, it's not Mark Lane's fault. I have a role to play in how my life turns out and I accept my portion of responsibility for my marriage and its outcome. It's true that it can be difficult to reach Mr. Lane. However, and this is my personal opinion, Mark is not the kind of attorney that is a hand-holder or a coddler. Make no mistake, that doesn't mean that he doesn't care about you or your case. But it does mean that for some folks, his no-nonsense, let's-just-handle-this approach, can be off-putting. If you need someone to console you constantly and hold your hand, I'd suggest finding another attorney. However, and again this is my opinion, most of those attorneys that are hand-holders are also the ones that may tend to tell you what you want to hear. Why? Because divorce or any family law situation is excruciating at best. There's simply no way to predict what you will get and there's nothing good about the process. The best you can hope for is to survive and come out a better person on the other side. It's your life. You have to own the good, the bad, and the ugly. Don't ever expect to pay someone a sum of money to simply make your problems go away. If you can understand that, you'll never find a better attorney. To sum up my review, I wanted to say "thank you" to Mark Lane and his staff. I wrote this review so that others who need an attorney - the best attorney you can get, in my opinion - would know Mr. Lane's style and his abilities. And, frankly, I felt it necessary to provide a sense of perspective on all the bad reviews he has received.

After an initial court denial from the court, we decided not to continue to pursue the matter, but their office filed suit without consulting with us on the path forward. We asked them to file a non-suit and end the case. That was all they did, yet somehow, they deemed our invoice come to a total of over $3,000. Most of the charges were the communications we needed to make to correct their errors, and of course the filing they neglected to confer with us about, then the non-suit filing. Not once did the attorney have to actually appear in a courtroom. On top of that, their office has ignored the majority of our communication attempts and typically did not respond to our early calls/e-mails for days. This is a very unprofessional office and are run as a money-grab scheme. Do not use Mark Lane.
