Avoid Goldsmith & Associates!! At best, they are incompetent. Their business practices are…read morequestionable. Their personnel are arrogant and tell clients things that simply are not true and extremely misleading. They made multiple errors on a very basic income tax return that resulted in having to file an amended return, which meant having to wait an additional 4 months for the IRS refund. They claim to doublecheck all work, but this error was so basic and obvious that if they had done any level of checking, they would have caught it. They were unresponsive to follow-up emails, and not the least bit apologetic for their egregious errors. Stay away from them!!!

Deceptive Business Practices Goldsmith and Associates have…read morebeen doing my personal taxes for years. This year, there was a dramatic shift where the quality, competence, and ethics have severely declined. Last year our personal taxes were $465 and we started a small business but had no expenditures or income. We were advised to not file not our business in 2022 (for the 2021 tax season). This year, our personal tax bill was well over $700 and our small business taxes were $900. In addition to the $900 fee I was advised over the phone by Kelly, an accountant, that sense we didn't file in 2021, that we would need to file this year for 2021 with another charge of $100. Our business tax bill would be $1,000. For the business alone. However, when I got to the office to sign off on the tax bill we were charged even more. I refused to sign for these charges. I grabbed my well documented tax paperwork/documents for the past year and left without signing anything. As a repeat customer and a small business owner, I am highly dissatisfied with the deplorable ethics and mismanagement of this accounting firm. Melissa Greene, MBA

I had tried to do my taxes myself and had completed everything except one serious problem with inputting and coding one of my 1099-R as a refund of Basis I prepaid on an annuity product that I cancelled and the Basis was refunded to me, not to be counted as income. The program I was using included the amount refunded as Income instead of refund of Basis adding to my gross income. Struggling with the program, I could not get this resolved and could not finish my taxes. I called Wolverine and John Eaton answered my call. I explained the above to John. John actually listens. John came up with solutions. He said I did not need Wolverine for a simple return because of the cost. John proposed that he recommend a tax preparer to do my return and file it. John made 3 phone calls on my behalf and consulted with his staff members to find a person out of office qualified to do my returns. John called me back to keep me informed of his progress. John consulted with me about my tax problem on his time and with no compensation. John Eaton is extraordinary, capable, smart, kind and generous. Wolverine CPA Company is exceptional in the field and I very highly recommend Wolverine CPA. No other company made any effort to talk to me and guide me. John Eaton is a pleasure to work with and I am grateful.
