Put the window in and it was all wrong! wrong number of panes and wrong color! Left that window and I refused to pay other half until it was fixed. 6 months later they scheduled, cancelled, rescheduled, cancelled and rescheduled replacement. I repeatedly asked for a discount for all the trouble and length of time it took and they would NOT even give me a 1% discount! The only positive was the installation guy- he was great, other than that- they sucked and will never use them again!!! Lynn and Jimmy Burton Hayti, MO

They required a 50% deposit with an estimated install of 3-4 months. Received a call in May that the doors would be installed in early June. (We are in COVid times so not an unacceptable delay by any means.) June 7 the installer arrived with only one door and said I'd need to contact the office about the other door. This was my first major issue. I took a day out of my schedule to be home for the installation and wasn't told there would only be one door installed before the guy actually showed up to put the door in. So I called, wasn't given an apology or a reason, but was instead told they had no idea when they'd actually get the second door and that I'd get it when they got it. The discussion got unpleasant at that point and I requested that if the door wasn't received--or they couldn't at the very least give me a firm timeframe--by the end of July I'd like my deposit money back so I could order one from somewhere else. (We also ordered two doors from Lowe's in January, those were installed by early April.) The gentleman informed me they don't refund under any circumstances--so know going in your money will be held hostage for an indeterminate amount of time until they are ready to deliver them. Now the real circus began. I'd need to take another day off whenever the second door would arrive. I got a few more calls from them in the month of July with install dates that were cancelled and updates that weren't updates. (They still couldn't say when the door would get there.) once August hit and I hadn't heard from them in a couple of weeks, I placed a call to their corporate office to complain. "Shockingly" I got a call from the local office a few days later to set up another install date for August 19, 2021. Not quite 8 months after I placed my initial order and gave them thousands of my dollars to hold onto. They arrived with a door. The crew was friendly. They had the door installed within a few hours. Unfortunately, that's all the nice things I have left to say. I've included pictures, the workmanship--particularly on the outside trim--was pretty awful. One entire piece of trim doesn't match (white instead of tan), large gaps were left in most of the corners and crammed with silicone (they could have at least used a paintable or tinted caulking to attempt to cover up the sloppy cuts), there's an entire strip of exposed brick/frame at the top of the door), and because of a size difference between the new door and the old one there was a gap of a few inches wide at the bottom threshold between the exterior brick wall and new door frame. Instead of filling that gap to form a solid surface for the trim to rest on, it's hollow underneath. With nothing but silicone holding it down I suspect that will have to be pulled up and mitigated at some point for the threshold not to fail the fist time any significant weight is applied to it. In short, it's substandard work for "professionals" and I suspect you'd be better off doing it yourself. They do warranty their work and the doors, but I'm honestly not sure I want them near my home again, nor am I confident they would address these issues in a timely and professional manner. So I'm stuck either fixing it myself, paying even more money to someone else to fix it, or continuing to deal with a company I have very little confidence in. So for now I'll share my review in the hopes it'll help someone avoid making the same mistake we made. Take your business elsewhere.

DON'T CONTACT THIS COMPANY, CONTACT EDGEWATER OR YOU WILL REGRET DOING BUSINESS WITH DAVIS GLASS!!…read moreDavis Glass is one of the worst businesses in Cape Girardeau and I regret working with this organization. George the owner and estimator came over to measure for a new window and a new Shower door. When we schedule the first attempt to have his install team come out was when it snowed on 12/28. I arranged my schedule so that I could be available to help not knowing it was going to snow. That day no one reached out nor was I able to contact anyone to ask if we were going to reschedule. Three days later, we rescheduled the install for 10 days later. The second day of install everything George has measured was wrong, all shower glass panels and the window. This is his company and he measured everything incorrectly, I do not understand how that is possible when this is all you do for a living. Also, during this install day his team tracked mud in the house and onto our brand-new carpet. I called the office the same day and it took over one week for the team to respond to us, we had to purchase a carpet steam cleaner and clean the carpet multiple times. After one week of their office calling not me back, they send their office cleaning lady to come over who provided no additional help for our messed-up carpet. On their third attempt everything was measured correctly but the hinges didn't match the glass panels. WE ARE NOW AT OUR FOURTH ATTEMPT FOR AN INSTALL! On the fourth install attempt they installed everything only see their measurements were still off for the shower STILL, we had to buy a rubber sealer to cover the gaps as water was coming out of the shower and the window was of poor quality and didn't even match the other windows in our home. I am now working with Edgewater and will be returning the window I had initially installed from Davis Glass. I say all this to tell everyone Contact Edgewater, they are very busy but that's because they do great work, I have no idea how Davis Glass is still in business absolutely the worst customer service, I always had to call their office only to wait to be contacted again.

Mistakes happen, that's a fact. Every business has made mistakes. It's not the mistakes you make as a company that defines you, it's how you resolve those issues. After explaining my issue with Davis Glass to the receptionist and asking for management she was extremely rude. By the end of the conversation I was told that Davis Glass would no longer do business with me. This was due to me explaining multiple issues with a Davis Glass employee in my home and still not having glass in a window that the Davis Glass employee damaged. The receptionist would not let me speak with anyone else. Unclear if the receptionist was rogue, I went into Davis Glass to speak with the owner. When I met the owner I was told that he had spoke with the receptionist and he said he did not care what I had to say and asked me to leave. I fully agree if a customer threatens, hurts, yells, or uses vulgar language with an employee the business has every right not to do business with this type of customer. None of this took place, I did not use foul language, yell, hurt anyone, threaten or disrespect. When I tried to explain my issue, even though I was blown away at this point, I was told by the owner that he did not care. I told him that I voiced my frustration calmly and was not in anyway disrespectful, no company that has this type of customer service is too big to fail. He laughed and walked away. I decided to rate poorly and post this due to the extremely poor customer service that the owner himself gave. Possibly this could help someone else not run into the same issue that I have. Also it is very obvious that one of my goals with this post is to turn business away from Davis Glass. I believe that companies should be pro customer service and value customer feed back. Definitely not leave a customer worse off than before you entered their home.
