This is the BEST little family owned farm. From everyday fresh produce to the amazing weekend…read morefestivals, they have it all. The DreamWhips are AMAZING and the variety changes to create new seasonal favorites. Nate and his family are so wholesome and giving to the community. The "family" atmosphere is incredible and you leave planning your next trip back to see an old friend. The staff are so courteous and nice, ready to help without having to be asked! Our most recent trip was to attend the Pickle Festival, our second year in a row. It was amazing to have such a variety of vendors, entertainment, and food!! It was crazy busy but the staff were great meeting the needs of everyone as quickly as possible. Nate is quite the entertainer and is so gracious. Thank you for another fabulous time spent on the farm.

We visited Darnell's Farm on June 23, 2026, and it easily earned 5 stars from our family!…read more From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. Families were enjoying the farm, kids were playing, and there were several swings overlooking the river that made for a beautiful place to sit and unwind. The farm offers a great variety of fresh produce, and the strawberry picking was a huge hit with our kids. Their favorite part was being able to snack on strawberries while picking them--an experience they won't forget! We also purchased some boiled peanuts, which were hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. But the real star of the visit was the ice cream. It was hands-down the best part of our day and so good that we're already planning to stop by again before heading back home. Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, great products, and fun for the whole family. We highly recommend Darnell's Farm to anyone visiting the area. 100% recommended!

The North Asheville Tailgate Market is a Saturday morning farmer's market on the campus of UNC…read moreAsheville. This is a huge farmer's market with vendors offering pastries, cheeses, meats, pastas, coffee, apparel, breads, and much more! I came here expecting to buy just a couple of pastries and wound up with enough to fill almost two tote bags. Since parking can be a challenge, I recommend getting here right when the market starts at 8. I've been eating my way through my finds and everything so far has been delicious. I'm still dreaming of the ham and cheese croissant I had for my lunch while hiking! Masks seem to be required for vendors, but are optional for patrons. I did see quite a few people wearing masks if they had small children who would be unvaccinated. I greatly enjoyed meeting the vendors and learning about their products. There are some interesting, highly unique offerings here. One of my favorite vendors is Roots and Branches -- they offer artisan crackers, flatbreads, and baked goods. I've gotten their products at other locations, but was delighted to meet them here as well. Their crackers are the best I've had anywhere and would be a great accoutrement to any cheeses you may also pick up here!

I love the amount of shade that is at this market. Lots of trees but not a lot of parking. I loved a few of the vendors including the kombucha and the kimchi shot guy. I also picked up an assortment of hot peppers for a fair price. In my opinion many of the items are overpriced. I get making a profit but 8 dollars for a small chocolate bar seems a bit much. I would definitely come back. Bring your own bags.
