The convention center is a good size, and from the outside looks nice. Inside, the bathrooms are filthy, no one has cleaned the bins in the women's stalls in a while, they were full to overflowing and nasty, and my feet stuck to the floor because I don't think anyone had actually taken a real cleaning to it in a long time. As far as convention centers go, this one is on the smaller side, but this is not necessarily a bad thing - at least you won't get lost in here! It is located downtown and has very current technology. A good venue to host a reception or fundraising event. read more

Very nice and new venue. This convention center is very easy to find and once inside, the directions to your locations are centrally located and numbered very well. The staff provided easy directions and the floors were clean. I'm a floor person...lol I enjoyed my events. read more

Great space for events and its a much needed place as for a city that was limited to only the coliseum which had several limitations. Its not as massive as most major cities 'Convention Centers' but for Jackson, I believe it suits the area as we progress forward. Its convenintly located in the city and offers enough sections for parking. In a city where parking is a major factor when dealing with big crowds downtown, the location offers options that are not impractical. read more

Be careful when you spend time at this convention center and always keep an eye on your stuff. An employee stole my credit card and my phone and then tried to scam me when he got off work by trying to get me to buy back my own iPhone. read more

Well I can tell you why there's not more going on here, it's because they don't purchase and/or co-promote acts. I work for a promotion/booking/record label and we wanted to use JCC for our clients to play. The only way you'll get in there is if you happen to "find a local promoter with interest to move forward". It really makes me wonder, with such exclusivity, how they are able to pay their rent with relying solely on local promoters to pack the house. I will never recommend JCC to anyone needing a venue to perform in Jackson. How terribly bad for business. Someone might tell them it's not in their best interest to be so snooty and discriminative. read more
