We arrived at the break of dawn not knowing what awaited inside the seemingly plain building. The sign in front, while inviting, also stared directly into my soul and asked "Do you possess the will to triumph?". My fellow adventurers and I dismounted from our steeds, checked equipment and rations, and entered the portcullis. The aroma inside was over-powering and inviting, but a sense of doom came over me. The shampoos and conditioners provided no ease. I looked to my side and although Scott of Manchester and Christopher of Albany appeared resolute, I knew they shared my apprehension. A figure entered from a side room and a glow enveloped her, shielding her from our vision. She stated "May I help you? Do you have an appointment?". Scott of Manchester replied for the group and proclaimed "We have an appointment with destiny!". She appeared confused. Chris of Albany moved forward and declared "We have come to surmount all difficulties and complete Jackie's Hair Adventure." With a sheepish grin, the woman said "I'm sorry, but I don't have availability for a fortnight.". I retorted "You will not dissuade us from this quest. Let the test of our will begin." We left her presence and exited her domain to the lawn to make camp. The winds were wild and the rains were fierce. We could hear demons laughing at the lake while riding loud roaring sea beasts. Their wicked voices filled the air and sent chills down our spines. Scott of Manchester poured ale from his waterskin in order to calm our spirits while Christopher of Albany began to build a fire. We used our rations sparingly, but filled our bellies with ale as we were determined not to drown in the fear encroaching on our minds. As the night grew thick, the glowing woman emerged from her domicile. Rage emanated from her very being. She shouted with fury, "You are trespassing. Please leave.". Christopher of Albany quickly replied "You will not break us! We are the warriors three and we will not fail. Our will is strong.". She disappeared in the doorway and the dark portal closed. Christopher of Albany took first watch. We were not asleep long when he needed to wake us, as wailing monsters with a bar of flashing light on them approached. The monsters appeared lifeless, but moved with impossible speed. Men emerged from their bellies wearing a blue tunic, clearly sent by the woman inside of Jackie's Hair Adventures. We were quickly surrounded as they clutched unfamiliar devices which surely reigned destruction down on any who would defy them. We could not dare to discover what forms of evil magic the devices were capable of. We complied with the evil soldiers and were placed in shackles. We were imprisoned, but it seems the soldiers are easily bribed. Our ladies were able to release us using a small amount of coin. However, Jackie's connections run deep. We were provided with a magical scroll, titled Order of Protection, which barred us from returning to her grounds. We do not dare return. Christopher of Albany returned to his homeland. He is now a carpenter and enjoys playing musical instruments. Scott of Manchester returned home as well, and now is a baggage handler for a major airline. He enjoys running and walks on the beach. Myself? I returned home also. I've put my adventuring days behind me, still occasionally awaking to a cold sweat and dark memories of Jackie's Hair Adventures. Be warned.
