My wife then showed the customer several properties. Now, Pearl has asked my wife to give her referral fee of 25% seller's side commission. Pearl has not done anything to deserve this commission and has not offered to do anything to justify her receipt of this commission. Pearl even threatened my wife with the choice of paying Pearl a referral commission or Pearl would write the contract herself. Of course, she can not legally do this because she is not licensed in New Mexico.

She behaved as if she were a lawyer, offering opinions and making judgments on legal matters she had no authority over, which is completely inappropriate. More troubling, she withheld basic information about the sale process and outright denied my legal status as a co-owner of the property. I felt completely disrespected, dismissed, and excluded from the process. I would strongly advise against working with this agent, particularly if you're navigating a sensitive legal situation. Professionalism, ethics, and respect for clients are fundamental in this field--and unfortunately, all were lacking in my experience.
