Update: third appointment with Jackie It's been 3 months since my second appointment with Jackie - had hair cut, color and highlights done. I wanted to go back sooner since my hair was growing past my neck (I don't like hair on my neck so I keep a short hairstyle - which tends to lose shape quicker than long hair styles) but have been too busy. But she did such an amazing job the last time, I was still getting compliments on my hair 3 months later! The style maintained good shape and the color and highlights still looked natural! Getting my hair done by Jackie is like a spa treatment! Her "salon" is on the lanai overlooking the ocean, with cool breezes and green plants galore! Jackie is AMAZING!!! Not only is she concerned if you like the end result, she wants to be satisfied with it too! That says a lot about her character and it is definitely evident when she does her magic on your hair! I was very hesitant about getting magic straightening because I've done some homework on how it could damage your hair, especially if you have had it previously chemically altered (highlights, color, etc) and I wasn't completely sure I wanted to let go of my curls. I came to Jackie because of the reviews I read on Yelp and I could not be happier with my decision! She initially did her consultation and scheduled my appointment at her earliest convenience. I was a little bummed I had to wait an extra week but for some reason I knew it would be worth the wait. She tailored the treatment according to the condition of my hair and did what she thought was best for it. Although it was a long process, roughly 5 hours, she was very friendly and answered any questions or addressed any concerns. The end result turned out amazing and I use her recommendations for shampoo, condition, and hair products. I know I will get those 5 hours back from not having to deal with my frizzy curly hair and I'm excited to only have to let it air dry or blow dry and it still look awesome! I have been getting my magic straight perm done with Jackie for over 3 years now. She is the only one I will go to for permanent straightening. I have done permanent straightening before that had cost me between $500-$800 (for my length of hair - about mid back) and it doesn't last nearly as long. With Jackie, your hair will never have to be processed twice, only retouching on the roots as they grow. I usually schedule this process about every 9 months. I takes about 5-6 hours, but it saves me so much styling time for the next 9 months! My hair is soft and shiny after her treatment and feels/looks so healthy. The frizz is gone! I can go out with wet hair after a shower and don't have to worry about styling it. People always ask how I get my hair so straight and if I use a flat iron everyday, but I don't have to! jackie is theee best! when I first went to see her my hair was a mess. I have a mix of hawaiian and black hair so its nappy roots growing into thick ehu curls. not too cute. most times I couldnt even get a brush thru it. so I went in for a consutation first. she knew exactly what I needed. she turned me onto this amazing shampoo and conditioner from korea that got every last tangle and knot out of my hair. it was amazing. so then I came back in to get her magic straight perm done. best decision I could have made. she was so sweet and she explained everything as she did it so I understood what she was putting in my hair. it is a long process, 8 hours for me cause I have long thick hair, but it is definitely worth it. and jackie is cheaper than everyone else. to get my hair done was about $450 where as other places could have easily charged me almost a grand with results that couldnt even compare to jackie. if you want to look amazing definitely give jackie a visit at imagery hair salon. its definitely worth every penny. read more

She has given me the best haircuts I've ever had from anyone, and my son is happy, too, whether he had really long hair or the short hair he has now. I called Jackie about 2 months ago and asked about Magic Straight. I told my hair was damaged from previous chemicals like bleaching and coloring..I had a few chunks that had even falling out. She let me come in as soon as she had something available and even showed up earlier to meet me. She is a very sweet and professional lady. After a consoltation she advised me to do the repair system she uses first. My hair felt sooooooo soft and healthy afterwards. I also bought shampoo and conditioner from her that has kept my hair in great condition ever since. It hasn't broken off barely at all..My hair is really in the best condition it has ever been in my whole life. I am very strict on letting people handle my hair but she is very knowledgable and skilled in the way she does her work. I am mixed with African-American/Italian/Asian, so I am also cautious about who I let touch my hair because of it's unique texture. She worked wonders on my hair and so giving her this review is the least I could do for her. I have never had a hair stylist that I felt so comfortable with. Needless to say I have recommended her to friends and will continue to go to her as long as I'm here in Hawaii. One word...AMAZING! I came in to see Jackie after reading her reviews on Yelp. I had a "Magic Straight Perm" done a week ago and have NEVER been so pleased w a hairstyle. I was extremely nervous about it because of the (expected) cost and the chance of it frying my hair and ending up bald! So I went by the word of the past reviewers and they were right on! Jackie answered her phone right away and was very helpful in scheduling me in while working around my extremely difficult schedule. She actually came in on her day off which was a holiday. She is very friendly and kind. She told me everything she was going to do before she did it. No surprises. She taught me a lot of little tips as well. Another thing...she gave me a complementary haircut!! I couldn't believe it. My favorite thing about Jackie is she doesn't take shortcuts! She takes her time to do it properly. She is not slow at all, just persice. My hair turned out PERFECT! Wayyyy beyond my expectations. I was so thrilled. I have never had such soft hair. I can't stop touching it :) it's been a week and still just as soft. I bought some products from her (the exact ones she used on me) so that I could use it just as she taught me (super simple) and it worked! I've never been able to make my hair look/feel like it did when I left the salon. Now I wash it and put in the product and that's it! I don't even blow dry. My hair dries perfectly straight, shiney, and soooo soft! I can't even explain how nice it is to save so much time and truly love my hair! The biggest surprise was the price.
