Having no clue what we were in for in the new home buying process, Andrew walked us through every step. We saw 7 houses the first day, which was really helpful in narrowing down what we were looking for. Every time we went to look at houses, Andrew would hang back, listen to what we liked and didn't like, and seemed to know what we were looking for more than we did. Once, to humor us I'm sure, Andrew, the hubster, and I picked different houses we wanted to look at one weekend (the houses that the hubster and I picked were from Zillow and not on Andrew's list of houses). After looking at all three, Andrew's pick was by far the best and that was the house we ended up buying in the end. I learned my lesson - leave it up to the professionals! I'll be calling Andrew for our next home purchase for sure. Was he "As good as it gets?" Hands down - yes!

We have been thrilled with the exceptional professionalism, responsiveness, and pleasant service we…read morehave received from Chris, Bryce, Danielle, and the rest of the team from start to finish. They have always been patient in educating us as first-time home buyers, and we never questioned that they were working in our best interest. They quickly ran many different scenarios and provided pre-approval letters for us on multiple properties that didn't come through, and finally for the house where our offer was accepted. One of the reasons we went with Chris and his team was their extensive experience and deep knowledge related to renovation loans (203k and HomeStyle) and conventional non-renovation loans, which gave us flexibility to switch to a different type of loan if the home we are purchasing did not end up qualifying for a non-renovation loan. We appreciated them expediting the appraisal, which was critical for this determination and luckily resulted in what we were hoping for. We always received quick, helpful, and easy to understand responses from Chris and Bryce, even on evenings, weekends, and Father's Day. Our loan was fully approved in about 2.5 weeks, even with a 5 week closing timeline. The rate we received was highly competitive. We have had absolutely zero complaints or hiccups throughout many, many months of working with Chris and the team, and we would unquestionably recommend Chris to friends and use him again.

I was able to provide all my financial information for my loan application and few days later I received my loan approval. They were able to give me a very competitive interest rate as well! I was very happy with my first condo purchase! Even after the condo was closed the First Home Mortgage team was open to answering my questions about all the new home owner mail I received. I would recommend this mortgage company to any new buyer!

We looked at the apartment and identified some things that were wrong with it that needed fixing before we moved in. We were assured that the landlords would take care of it. In Ms. Clarks words, the landlords were "wonderful, very responsive." Basically, we were sold a bill of goods. We moved in about a month after lease signing. None of the things that were supposed to be fixed were actually fixed, because apparently the landlord refused. The apartment was still being worked on, and it was in pretty dirty condition. We had to clean it ourselves before we moved in. Far from being "wonderful and responsive" the landlords were the most awful, do-nothing landlords I have ever rented from. Many of the things that were supposed to be fixed were still not fixed when we moved out a year later. Folks, don't believe a word anyone from this company tells you, especially if you are a renter. They seem extremely nice, but they will clearly say anything to get the deal closed. Wish I could give negative or 0 stars.

They had a great strategy in place for us and timelines that kept us focused towards the sale. The market was not particularly robust at the time of our sale but we sold our home unbelieably quickly and at the exact price that Leigh had predicted it would. They sure know the DC market wel and are on top of the latest trends in real estate. HIGHLY Recommend them!

We met Sue in February 2017 - she came to our rental, also in Alexandria - and we hit it off right away. We warned her we were picky - our goal was to be in something by the end of the year. She didn't seem fazed in the least. Over the next 8 months, we looked at no fewer than 60 properties. We even had some interesting feng shui requirements that crept in over time from our parents - again, Sue wasn't phased in the least. She was consistently positive, forthright, friendly, and very, very responsive. Sue is also very knowledgeable about homes in this area. We never once got the feeling she was pushing us in a certain direction to make a sale. When we finally found "our" home, everything seemed to just fall into place. Until we ran into a title issue, that is. Long story short, it was nothing short of a miracle that we got it resolved in time to close before losing our mortgage rate lock. What we realized in hindsight is that Sue comes with a great team - everyone she recommended (lenders, inspectors, title companies, etc.) was extremely easy to work with and competent. Even when things got a little stressful at the end, Sue remained positive and responsive, and wasn't afraid to let us know when something was outside her area of expertise. We had such a great experience working with Sue and would recommend her to anyone buying in the area!

While other homes in our neighborhood sat for months on the market, she staged our home beautifully, priced it right, and had it under contract within the first weekend for an offer above asking price! A home in the neighborhood we wanted went on sale while we were out of town. We called Elle and she was in the property the very next day (a holiday!) to Facetime us. She got as much information from the sellers' agent about their priorities as possible. She then helped us craft a competitive and wise offer quickly, beating out another offer. Elle is not only an expert regarding real estate, but doubles as your interior designer and comes with an unsurpassed professional network for home repairs, home renovations, lenders, and anyone you may need in the process. There were several external factors that made our process particularly complicated, but Elle never seemed to get flustered and always figured out the next steps. She kept us regularly informed and navigated everything to the finish line. We cannot imagine having done it without her. She is a woman of high ethical and professional standards. I can say without hesitation that you will not regret putting your trust in Elle Cain and Washington Fine Properties to buy or sell your home.
