They have always been patient in educating us as first-time home buyers, and we never questioned that they were working in our best interest. They quickly ran many different scenarios and provided pre-approval letters for us on multiple properties that didn't come through, and finally for the house where our offer was accepted. One of the reasons we went with Chris and his team was their extensive experience and deep knowledge related to renovation loans (203k and HomeStyle) and conventional non-renovation loans, which gave us flexibility to switch to a different type of loan if the home we are purchasing did not end up qualifying for a non-renovation loan. We appreciated them expediting the appraisal, which was critical for this determination and luckily resulted in what we were hoping for. We always received quick, helpful, and easy to understand responses from Chris and Bryce, even on evenings, weekends, and Father's Day. Our loan was fully approved in about 2.5 weeks, even with a 5 week closing timeline. The rate we received was highly competitive. We have had absolutely zero complaints or hiccups throughout many, many months of working with Chris and the team, and we would unquestionably recommend Chris to friends and use him again.

I was able to provide all my financial information for my loan application and few days later I received my loan approval. They were able to give me a very competitive interest rate as well! Once I put my first offer in they were working tirelessly to do all the behind the scenes work. They would send me emails about loan process update and were available to talk to text anytime. I was very happy with my first condo purchase! Even after the condo was closed the First Home Mortgage team was open to answering my questions about all the new home owner mail I received. I would recommend this mortgage company to any new buyer!

Whereas other lenders tried to make my life difficult, Kevin made it easier. He streamlined things and he moved quickly. We closed in three weeks (and probably could've closed sooner, honestly)! He was always just a call, text, or email away and I never, ever was left in the dark when it came to my file. I would strongly recommend TML and Kevin, specifically, to anyone who wants a straightforward, kind, detail-oriented, and honest partner. Also, Kevin is just a cool dude - not going to lie. He consistently gave me the real and was just as disappointed as I was that rates kept going up. To that end, it's important to note that Kevin checked in with me regularly because he wanted to make sure I got a good rate BEFORE the rates really skyrocketed. Glad he did. I truly enjoyed working with him. And if this review doesn't convince you that he's awesome, then ask yourself this: if he's not the best to ever do it, why was he featured on the news and other folks from other companies were not? #questionsthatneedanswers Anyway, hit up The Mortgage Link. Ask for Kevin. Tell him Destiny sent you. Note: For what it's worth, everyone else at the company that I worked with was incredibly nice and prompt, too. (Hi, Merridith!) Kevin was my fave, though.

Zero Customer Service Ethic…read more State Farm made a mess of my policy data. One of my vehicles disappeared from my policy for several weeks, other vehicles were added briefly, and non-related drivers were added. None of this was Mr. Munson's fault. However, throughout the entire ordeal that spanned two months or so, he never reached out to apologize on behalf of State Farm. As the public-facing representative, he should have made an effort to contact me, apologize and try to make the situation better. Despite being cc'd on several emails over the course of the issues and multiple direct emails from me to him, he never replied or responded once. If he had, I might not have canceled my State Farm auto, home & umbrella policies after 40 years of being a customer. Good job, Mr. Munson, you helped cost State Farm ~$3,000/year. The staff was professional, communicative and did their best to make a bad situation better. Not Mr. Munson. He was completely inept at customer relations.

His knowledge of all the available programs to help buyers with down payment or closing costs is vast. His ability to create spreadhseets that clearly show our clients their options is so helpful. AVOID BOIZELLE AND ERIE! We have had homeowners insurance…read morewith Boizelle since 2004 and car insurance with them for several years longer than that. Today I got a call from them saying that our homeowners insurance was cancelled and that we are currently exposed without insurance! They said that two notices were mailed by Erie to our home but they didn't receive payment so they canceled our coverage. We have always faithfully paid our premiums when bills have come for the last 20 years. I don't know why we didn't receive their notices in the mail but I told Boizelle that it is a horrible policy to not receive a phone call about this BEFORE TAKING THE STEP TO CANCEL OUR POLICY! The first phone call was after they canceled our policy! We certainly would have paid immediately if notified by phone that it was necessary to do so. I would have even been OK with automatic payment via our credit card in order to stay covered. Bottom line, they said that to get coverage again we'd have to start from scratch by getting one of their people out to our house and drafting up a policy as if we were new customers. This is a boneheaded policy. Being left uninsured by surprise is a big deal and a poor way to treat a loyal customer. I know that there are better insurance companies out there that wouldn't have such ineffective practices. At least I know some good questions to ask other potential insurance companies before I give them our business.
