Wellllll....poo. This place is in a truck stop. It's a cafe and a place that has a counter that…read morehas fried chicken. We seated ourselves in the empty dining area, and the wait began. We waited for what seemed like an eternity for the young server to stop talking to the kitchen staff, etc. When she finally came over to take our drink order, we were also ready to order our food. I ordered a pancake breakfast that came with two pancakes, two sausage patties (you could get bacon instead), and two eggs. I ordered my eggs over-easy. My sausage came out over-cooked, and my egg yolks were already broken. However, my pancakes were fabulous. Just a touch of sweetness to the batter. Really good. The rest of the people at my table had terrible meals. From over-done tenderloins served with cold, underdone fries to a just plain bizarre chicken wrap, all were disappointed. Our service did get a little better towards the end. She finally started keeping our drinks full. We got ice cream for dessert that was good. She couldn't tell me whether or not the pies for dessert were homemade, and she frankly didn't care to find out. I hope my family never drags me here again!

I really don't recommend this place. If you're starving it's okay like I was. The two girls that…read morehelped me were pleasant enough but the one in the cafeteria was not very informative. You would think with the combo meal that would include a drink. But it does not. So visit at your best discretion. I ordered a combo meal. Which was two pieces of chicken and a side of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes where somewhat crispy if that makes sense. The chicken was good enough though. I arrived here at 5:15 in the afternoon. So you would think during dinner time the food would be more fresh. I don't recommend this place. You'll get fresher food at McDonald's! And it will be more worth your money!

    O'Knappy's Kitchen - Seating outside

O'Knappy's is located on Main Street in Coatesville, a small town in Putnam County pretty close to Heritage Lake (a very popular residential community). I was at a funeral at nearby Bousley's Funeral Home and a friend of mine observed that I'd been there awhile and should probably eat. Coatesville doesn't have much in the way of options, however, O'Knappy's was open (it's a breakfast/lunch diner except for being open 4:30-8:30pm on Fridays. I had noticed upon arrival in Coatesville that O'Knappy's had a step to enter - so, there are some definite accessibility issues here. Coatesville is a pretty casual town. There's mostly street parking, though there's a community center next to the funeral home that does offer accessible parking. Mostly, however, traffic is light enough that parking shouldn't be much of an issue. We ordered carry-out as I was going to eat very quickly at the funeral home before a service. I ordered a burger. My friend ordered a tenderloin. I think we both agreed the food was perfectly fine - not really outstanding, however, also not bad in anyway. I enjoyed it. The reason I'm really going 4-stars instead of the more appropriate 3-stars is because of service. People were friendly and they even let us bring a couple of their glasses to the funeral home (they didn't really have "to go" cups). It was such a nice gesture on a day when I was burying my father that it honestly made me quite emotional. The funeral home said they would return the glasses - an obvious sign of a collaborative (but small) downtown business area. Overall, this probably leans more toward 3.5, however, I'm a sucker for hospitality and I felt welcomed here and supported on a rough day. So, 4-stars it is.
