Beautiful, brand new facility with something for everyone. I love the functional turf area with…read morefree weights, squat racks, medicine/swiss balls, jump ropes, etc. Wide selection of cardio equipment too and a good offering of classes (they need more AM options though - only one 6am class on Thursday at the time that I visited, and everything else started at 8am or later). Do wish they had a pool but the sauna is option is nice. I think they offer childcare as well. And as their membership grows, looks like they'll hosting more events which is a big draw for me. I did the 21 day free trial and was extremely close to signing up fully, but I have a gym in my complex with similar equipment. However, places like O2 (Lifetime, Equinox etc) are much more than a gym, they are an ~experience~ I don't think most people go solely to work out or train, they go for the elevated service/treatment, community, motivation from/of being around others etc. And you definitely get that here at O2. Pricewise is what you would expect from a facility of this caliber, but their prepaid packages do get you some decent savings. The operations staff is nice and friendly - sales people can be a bit aggressive but that's to be expected. Overall, I'd recommend this as a first choice to anyone who does not have a home gym or something readily available in their complex. Can't beat the location either - perfect for working out and running errands before or after.

Bad experience with the office staff. Shady and just out for your money. Would not recommend.read more

Somehow I never managed to review this before this year when everything went crazy in the world…read more Admittedly gyms have been hit harder than many businesses, especially in areas where they have been locked down longer like NC. But now that it's back open I felt it necessary to review the gym and in particular it's handling of Covid-19. It's been almost a month now since it reopened. Looking at how everything is taken care of week to week seems to have really fallen into a steady flow. Lots of hand sanitizer stations with changes now to make most of them all hands-free. The addition now of spray bottles with equipment sanitizer are on tables around. Besides that the staff comes around with a pump sprayer of sanitizer periodically spraying everything down. Beyond that the big changes include a change to let the app go completely contactless where you can just sign in as you walk and they see it on a computer. A change that will be appreciated even after covid. No more waiting behind people to check in if you happen to get in at a bad time. Also we do have a lot of closings due to what should be the limited capacity. As you can see from my photos most of the lockers are closed down with only a handful allowed to be used. The same is said with pretty much every other piece of equipment. That allows for adequate social distancing. Unfortunately the showers and sauna are both closed. The sauna in particular is a sad thing for me since I adore using it. hopefully soon they will figure out how to open that, since in truth the sauna is one of the safest places if we just limit how many people can be in. Especially if the sauna is kept on and fully hot as opposed to in its warming stage. It would be actually be better for people's health and immunity. But unfortunately I do understand why regulations make it difficult right now. Overall I would say the gym is handling this about as well as they could. There are still plenty of facilities available and the space in here has always been a very useful but in times like this is particularly helpful to have a little bit more open air.

I have been going here for years! I enjoy the group fitness classes, the pool, and the motivated…read morepeople!

I'm so glad I did let's just start with the cleanliness of this place I give the sanitation 5/5 , it's Not the biggest gym in the triad but In my opinion it's the most TOP QUALITY over quantity they have all the right machines & equipment for any athlete whether Bodybuilding, Foot ball player or just anyone wanting to live a healthier lifestyle. Let's tap into the Wait time for equipment I stopped in around 9:40 and there was absolutely no wait on equipment and it wasn't over Crowded. I can honestly say this place made me feel like a pro bodybuilder while I was training but I probably look like SpongeBob this is a place for anyone that means business and are serious about their fitness goals hands down ! But no seriously if you haven't checked this gym out please go visit them the owner Ron is super cool , helpful and he will even apply your day pass to your membership, I'll definitely be coming back with my wife and daughter as I'm trying to convince both of them to take on a healthier lifestyle and I believe phenom fitness will be a great place for them to start free of gym judgement . 10/10 the best gym in Winston Salem !

The machines worked and I never had to wait to use a cardio machine. The bathroom always smelled and was clean so not sure what else you could want out of a gym. Mondays is free pizza night ... get your pizza early so the best slices aren't picked over. Tuesday AM they have bagels but I never was there that early. This place is very affordable and for like 12 extra bucks you can go to any PF location. The hydro massage and massage chairs were a major perk too. Probably the worst thing about this place is the location is not convenient to where I live. I do however like the BP gas station close by and that Aldi is across the street! I would frequently leave the gym, get gas, and then get groceries! I would still be a member now but I cancelled my membership since I got a puppy. One day I will reactivate my membership and would be happy to return here.

Some of the people are so brushed off & I know the motto of FB, but I would encouraged members to be more friendly, like Hello, Hey or just Hi. I see you over & over again, we should be able to say Hi! I remember when I 1st started I had people in the locker room have conversations. Everybody is working on staying healthy, but a small gesture is healthy, too!

Fresh fitness gym comes to town and is in-need of new members!…read more After learning about this brand-spanking new establishment coming to Winston-Salem, I had to pop in & go check it out since I'm currently looking for a gym to join. Since I prefer 24-hour gyms, I'm biased about joining ANY gym that is NOT one. I prefer late-night-workouts where I have the spot all to myself - for the most part - and this gym only is open: Monday - Friday 5AM-10PM Saturday 7AM-7PM Sunday 10AM-5PM Still, I took a tour, hoping to have my mind changed. Upon entering, I was greeted by Hal who (after taking some basic contact information from me, most likely to contact me to TRY and make a membership sale) proved to be quite knowledgeable about the gym's grounds and future plans for additions to come this Fall. The space is quite massive, offering everything from a variety of cardio and free-weight equipment (with weights up to 125 lbs.), one-on-one trainer spaces and designated rooms for yoga, spin cycling, aerobics classes and such. The gym floor wasn't overrun with clientele at 4PM... but that was, I'm sure, because they're still in the process of opening and installing more equipment while signing on more brand new members. Hal provided a thorough, friendly tour of the entire facility, even revealing a stylish locker room with a sauna and individual showers as well as an outdoor workout facility, located out back, which is still under-construction. Being an ectomorph such as myself, I could easily relate to Hal as we walked throughout the fitness center detailing and discussing both of our "muscle-mass gaining" regimens to achieve our ultimate physical fitness goals. Very personable without at all coming across overbearing, Hal went over the current rates for year and two-year "discounted" offers to exclusive brand new members of Fuel Fitness. Unfortunately, I was never offered a complimentary pass to try out the facility by Hal so I cannot and will not even bother trying to review the gym's actual "feel" as a bonafide gym rat, but I can say that Hal was a cool guy to encounter for a tour of the place. Since the overall membership rates, lack of steam room and limited hours apply, I do not see myself buying their membership but if such things aren't deal-breakers for you (I DID mention in the beginning of this review that I am biased and partial to ONLY favoring 24-hour gyms preferably with steam rooms vs. saunas) I would definitely recommend popping in for a tour to make your own decision on joining... or not.

Your manager is an unimpressive silly little kid. I was in the other night to cancel. When I asked the guy at the desk if I could speak to a manager, the manager literally left, smh, so I waited. It turns out the teenage girl who used to be at the desk is now managing. My bf says she used to be sweet but now I guess her true colors are showing acting like a snot nose kid who is in way over her head. And by the way I was very polite too. This gym is also not clean. My bf went into the male bathroom one time 2 years ago and never used it again. He said it was disgusting like literally caked in filth and the sauna smells like pee and B.O. I have been a member for about one yaer went in Tues and Fri mainly and never once saw anyone clean anything. When I was a member at P.F. gym, there would be lots of people cleaning every time I was there. My biggest worry is they better not continue to bill me now that I cancelled. My bf told me they will try to. Billing issues are a management issue! I know the new manager is a silly little kid, but if you can't do your job please get someone who can. KID GET OVER YOURSELF. YOU WORK AT A GYM. YOU PROBABLY MAKE 12 DOLLARS AN HOUR. STOP BEING SO LAZY TOO.

The parking lot is almost always full, but I don't know where all those people go. The place is very compartmentalized, so that you don't feel overwhelmed or crowded. I like to run on the treadmill, and at my old gym, I had no choice but to watch people doing leg workouts and hear incessant thumping of basketball/squash players. None of that here. The staff is super friendly... you know how when you go to Costco or a yoga community, everyone is super nice and it kind of freaks you out? Similar deal here. (Maybe it's WS in general.. either way, the YMCA staff members are friendly by any standards). Other highlights: -A ton of group fitness classes -Indoor track and pool -Monthly fitness challenges (with prizes!) -Cardio machines with TVs, blood pressure machine -Free towel rental -Not too crowded -Discounts for students and low-income families Obesity is now considered a disease-- go fight/prevent it!
