This is an appreciation post for MISS DANIELLE of the Explorers class. I am single and first time mother of a boy and there are so many instances where I feel helpless and at a lost for giving my child the best care and while reassuring my son of what he should know, she always makes it a point to check in with me to support me. She is the perfect bridge between school and home. We sat down for a meeting to discuss what I wanted out of my son's education and as soon as we did, there was a shift at school and my son was capable of a number of things he had been struggling with prior. If there's any reason at all to choose this school, it is for her. Miss Danielle is the reason I stay.

The staff was amazing, caring and so attentive towards him, they have set the bar for what I expect from all other daycares in the future. They do everything to keep the parents involved from daily check-ins, giving curriculum updates, and sending daily updates of your baby. As a first-time mom, they put all my worries at ease and I always recommend this place to anyone who asks. I honestly don't know how they don't have a 5-star rating because the whole staff truly cares about their kids and provides an environment for them to grow safe and confident.

The owner's son, Kyle is unable to empathize with families like myself because we are just $$ to him. Make sure you thoroughly read the application before signing because apparently, they (Administration) will use it against you should you have an issue with them. This review solely based on my experience with them. I, along with my siblings & now my children have attended & graduated Alphabetland Preschool (Waipahu Location). It was my child's first day back to school since last year, and after dropping her off to her class, I went into the office to make payment for the month. Although I was aware of the late fee for late payment and with the 10th being over the weekend, I asked the office staff (which then asked Mr. Kyle ARIZALA for permission to do so). Please keep in mind that my family's co-pay for tuition is $11.00 and this was my first time asking for leniency. Kyle was very stern on being unable to possibly waiving the $50 fee- making a strict example of how if I was an exception then he would have to make an exception for everyone else. I felt I was being treated very poorly by a member of administration- He didn't want to hear me out or perhaps even bothered to provide other options to this issue. Kyle insisted, I should have figured it out. I wrote an email addressing my concerns and in return was given a hand-delivered letter by my child's teacher the following day in response to my email. I've spoken and asked the teachers and aides about him, and I have not heard ONE positive attribute in regards to Kyle. So FYI, any issue presented to management is considered "confrontational" and deemed grounds for dismissal. What a joke! Someone enroll Kyle in a Public Relations class so he can learn how to efficiently deal with people.

My daughter learned so much from Ms. Nelsy (4 year olds teacher) while only being in her class for 5 months. She entered late because I originally had her in the HCAP (free preschool) but was approved for POD and was able to choose this school for her. At first, she didn't know how to write her name, count to 50, recognize letters, but then I was so proud to get her end of the year report card because she was able to do all of that. My daughter does tell me she misses Ms. Nelsy but now she is in the big girl class with Ms. Ancheta and I'm sure she's going to learn so much more! I think they're teaching them how to read which is amazing because she will be ahead when she enters Kindergarten the next school year. My other daughter had Ms. Charmaine (2 years old class) and I'm telling you that she's definitely a teacher you would want for your 2 year old because she has so much PATIENCE. My daughter was crying all day the first couple days. Sometimes she would even throw a tantrum to come home with me, it was so sad BUT I had to drop her off everyday so that she would get used to it and she did. Couple months in, she was just walking right into class like a big girl. Ms. Charmaine also helped me with potty training. My daughter was already trained with us at home but I was afraid she would have accidents at school so she would go in diapers but finally I asked Ms. Charmaine if she could help me and if it would be okay if my daughter wore underwears instead of diapers to school. She had a few accidents the first couple days and then after that, she was finally potty trained at school too. So thankful for Ms. Charmaine. My daughter's teacher now is Ms. Ashley (3 Year Olds Teacher) and she does mention that she will cry when Ms. Charmaine picks up the 2 year olds in the mornings and she's left behind but after that she's fine. She is having so much fun in Ms. Ashley's class and she actually says her name too "Mommy I go Ashley's class" it's so cute. I can't wait to see how much she will learn.

Our child attended…read morefor two years and was provided with exceptional care and compassion, patience, and everything you could ask for in a preschool. Every teacher there felt like they were born to be a pre-school teacher! We feel incredibly grateful to have found Ewa Plains Enrichment in Ewa Beach for our son. From the very beginning, it felt personal. We were not just enrolling in a school but becoming part of a warm, loving community that felt like family. Miss Jessica and the entire team of teachers are everything you would hope for in a preschool. They are warm, kind, intelligent, and fully engaged with the children. Their sincerity and care were evident every single day. It was almost tangible how much they truly loved each child, including ours. The mission of Ewa Plains Enrichment feels centered in love. Every lesson, classroom moment, and interaction reflects that. Our son not only learned how to read here, but something lit up inside him. It was as if a light switched on, and now he reads his own bedtime stories with joy and confidence. This milestone was nurtured by the school's incredible literacy program and the encouragement of his teachers. The school's focus on literacy is truly outstanding. The dedication and joy the teachers bring to reading is something our family will never forget. We also deeply appreciated the school's commitment to Hawaiian culture. Field trips to the lo'i, the pumpkin patch, and the library helped connect learning to the land and the community. Through songs, stories, and hands-on experiences, the children developed a strong sense of place and respect. As a Buddhist family, we always felt completely welcomed and respected at this Christian school. The values of kindness, compassion, gratitude, and responsibility were shared in a loving and inclusive way that felt deeply aligned with our home life. Our son also had the opportunity to share his own heritage during Culture Week and to learn about the cultures of his classmates. Seeing his identity honored and celebrated was incredibly meaningful and helped him feel proud and connected. The school created beautiful memories throughout the year, from Christmas and Easter performances to a heartfelt Mother's Day celebration. Preschool graduation was one of the best graduation events I have ever attended. It was thoughtful, joyful, and full of love. You could see how much the staff cared about each and every child. During a year when our family needed to take extended international trips, the school was flexible, understanding, and supportive. They even prepared homework packets for our son to bring with him, so he could stay connected and continue learning while we traveled. That level of care and thoughtfulness meant so much to us. Ewa Plains Enrichment has been around for many years, and that experience shows in the most beautiful ways. The staff have worked with so many different types of children and family situations, and their understanding, flexibility, and wisdom come through in how they support each student. You can tell they have truly seen it all and are prepared to meet each child where they are, with love and confidence. Ewa Plains Enrichment consistently goes above and beyond what is expected. They are always thinking about the children and their future. This is not just a school. It is a place where children are truly seen, nurtured, and loved. We will be forever grateful to this school, which is a true gift to the community and island!

Our child has excelled and fluorished not only in academics but also socially and spiritually. His growth here has been astounding. They address all aspects of a child's development and offer different activities and experiences for them. Rosary Preschool is run by the Dominican Sisters who are amazing, helpful and oh so dearly friendly! There are three classrooms, two are for 4 yr. olds and one are for the 3 yr. olds. They have a conference room (area) as well, which I'm sure they'll be holding their Christmas Program there this years, I'm sure they've held it there from the years before. Also a great play area space located in the back of the school. The 'whole' preschool is not much, but it's enough for the toddlers to easily get used to & nothing is ever too far or too near. (: My daughter already loves school and enjoys the activities and lessons she's learning. There's always three teachers to each classroom & they surely do care for each child dearly. The atmosphere is so calm with patience, it's lovely. (: They also have the option for the kids to bring home lunch, or they had a monthly meal plan, which is approved by a nutritionist to set what is served on what day. Oh, the kids are eating the goods too I'm telling you! Shoyu Chicken, Chicken Adobo, Mac & Cheese, Chicken Nuggets...yeah so good right! They get really healthy snacks of fruits/crackers/cookies w/ milk &/or juice. So good! (:

We moved to the area and we were scared about the education that our daughter was receiving and we came across the preschool. I grew up going to a Catholic school and I wasn't sure how they were going to be. So far it has been an amazing experience. The sisters are caring and loving. They are flexible and take the time with the children and they are patient. My daughter is finally been educated properly. She takes home homework and is learning so much while she is there. I am extremely happy with the education and care they provide.

We considered it since it is super well priced and conveniently located. I didn't love how small it is and that there is no outdoor space. Kids love being outdoors! But it was worth considering. During the tour we were given a waitlist form and told it is $50 to hold the spot. Great! In mid-August I physically drove to the school to hand them the form and the check. I check my bank accounts at the beginning of each month, and thought it was odd it was not cashed at the beginning of September. I email the school to say that I noticed it has not been cash and am confirming receipt. NO RESPONSE I email again a week later. NO RESPONSE I start to think maybe something is wrong with their email. I have conversed via email before, which is how I scheduled the tour to begin with. I confirmed it is the same email address. I am also worried that maybe they lost my check and they are intentionally ignoring me until they find it. I don't know what is going on, but I go directly to their website and message them through their online portal. NO RESPONSE It is a huge red flag to me when I am actively attempting to give an organization money and they are not responsive. If they don't respond to me trying to give them money, how are they going to treat me once they have it? I do not know what their excuse is, but at this point, I don't care. Short staffed? Server down? Too busy? All not great things for a preschool. I decide to call Trace at the end of October. So they have had my check for over 2 months and completely ignored all attempts for me to contact them. Trace: I have you're check right here, I'll cash it today Me: oh...ok. I have tried emailing a couple times. Trace: Yes, I got your emails. Ok...no apology, no explanation. Just telling me they've had my check sitting there for over 2 months and have actively been avoiding my messages. Honestly if she had been remorseful, provided an explanation or even been remotely nice over the phone, I would have considered still sending my child, but this conversation was the nail in the coffin for me. We really did not like the way we were treated as potential parents and decided to go elsewhere out of principle. I would definitely not recommend them and I would never send my child there.

I was told he would run out of the class. The teacher refused to close the door to mitigate these issues, as she said she couldn't chase him with such a large class. I was also told he had the worst behavior of anyone in the class when I was trying to relate on how other 4 years olds might exhibit challenging behavior. She mentioned next steps would include talking to the principal and everytime we picked my son up it was a super negative report never a single positive thing said about my son. I would expect teachers to work with children during their first school experience on their behaviors to help them adjust, but this was not my experience at New Hope. They seemed very quick to give up and complain about the situation. Remember this is someone's child and only saying negative things doesn't make a family excited to send their child here. the teacher suggested we needed to bring an aid in the classroom. I never one said my child was disabled or needed an aid. This all happened in his first 4 days of school ever. This has ruined my impression of New Hope as a school and as a church unfortunately.

My son has been attending New Hope Christian School (preschool) for the past 2 years. He was born…read moreon August 3rd, which is 3 days after the cut off to go to kindergarten. This meant we had to keep him in preschool an extra year before going to kindergarten. TUITION - Preschool and day care can cost an arm an a leg. Unfortunately, my husband and I do not qualify for any child care subsidies (military, hawaiian, or state/federal funded), and we have to pay tution in full. NHCS is one of the affordable preschools in the area. I did my research and looked for preschools located between Kapolei-Pearl City, and New Hope was the most affordable. We started him off part time, which was 3 full days a week. They also offer early morning care from 6:30am, which is an additional $50. I think we were paying $610 for 3 full days which included meals. This year, school meals are $40(?) per month. For full time with additional morning care and meals, we pay $810 monthly. It is a lot, but it's actually on the lower end compared to other schools that charge $800-$1000 for full time alone. LOCATION - NHCS is located in the Waipahu Town shopping center, along side Goodyear, Jeans warehouse, goodwill and Seafood city. Very convenient for those who live on the west side (Waipahu, Kunia, Ewa Beach, Kapolei) as you can just hop off the freeway to drop off and pick up. There are a few reserved parking stalls fronting the school. FACILITY - It can be deceiving as it does not look large from the outside, but this school includes Clean, well kept and air conditioned. Class rooms are divided by age, with the eldest (5 year olds) towards the entrance, and the youngest (2-3 year olds) towards the inner end of the hall way. The playground is in the back and is on the smaller side in comparison to other schools. STAFF - We LOVE my sons teacher. Ms. Nancy was his teacher last year and again this year. She along with the other teachers, Ms. Tasha, Ms. Joy, Ms. Sydni, & Ms. Vanessa are always so pleasant. My son usually cries at drop off time (yes, even though he's been going there for almost 2 years. Lol.) But they always welcome him in and help him adjust. The staff has a great communication system, and always emails and calls to notify and/or remind parents of any events, field trips, or emergencies. Another thing I like is that the teacher/staff conducts parent teacher conferences twice a year. I really appreciated meeting with them and discussing my child's progress. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical to send my son to NHCS, but I am glad I did. He has grown from a scared toddler into a little boy who is ready for kindergarten. Overall, I would highly recommend New Hope Preschool.
