Happy kids is a must for any vacation. I use them each time I come to Hawaii and I am never disappointed. This trip I reached out at the last minute during the Christmas break with very little hope of finding a suitable nanny. They assigned Brittany to us and she was a gem. My initial goal was to put my 5 year old to sleep and have a nanny watch guard in case he wakes up while me and my husband have some adult dinner. That didn't happen. Brittany came prepared to entertain my son in the hotel room for 5 hour (way past his bedtime). She came 3 days during our stay and my some waited for her like he waited for Santa. Standing by the door listening for footsteps. I can't say enough good things about Brittany and happy kids. read more

Hi Elle and Kelly, Brenda from your happy kids nanny services was amazing, showed up on time, listened to our tips on our kids, gave us photo ID up front and bonded with our kids immediately giving us time and comfort to take an adult hike for 5 hours...and she gave us an opportunity to relax to ourselves as a couple and have 5 hours. Happy kids is a great middle man to coordinate the sitter and do all arranging and paperwork. Our children are special needs autistic, and Brenda showed up with a clear plastic carry bag with toys and she knew how to take care of the unique needs of autistic kids. Well worthy investment! Trust is essential when leaving your kids with strangers and even as a paranoid couple we felt 100% at ease with happy kids and Brenda. Michael Pondrom read more

It's hard to trust someone else with your kids, but Joanna O. a.k.a "Jo" took my worry away from the moment I walked into the room. We just returned from a weeks vacation at the Aulani Disney Resort and were assign Jo l to help lend me a hand with my super active, defiant and often sensitive to crowds, 3 year old son. Jo was AMAZING! She's got a stellar background and certified and CPR, first aid, etc. Hiring her was the best decision I made, allowing this tired Mommy some down time without having to chase my little one all over the resort, or have to sit in the room because he was having a melt down. The best part of it all is that both my kids loved her! She brought toys for them and kept me posted during the times my husband and I would leave for a few hours to get "adult time". Joanna as well as Kelly (who assigned Jo to me) we're both was lovely to work with and had a calmness about them that made me feel so relaxed about everything. read more

I have used happy kids every time We get to Oahu or Maui, and before this experience, they were really great. I used to always get a good response and great nannies. This time, I emailed and called three weeks ago for my arrival to Oahu, and have been in contact with them through email as well as multiple voicemails. I never received a call back, and One return email. I always had to call them to check it. Now a day before we arrive, and because I have adult dinner plans with the hubby and friends, I felt a little nervous that three days out and they still haven't found me someone. Not to mention I had to call Them to check in every time. I received an invoice for a deposit before they confirmed a nanny, of which I paid for. Last night, I called and cancelled with them. I didn't like that this process took me three weeks and still haven't confirmed anyone. I think possibly they have enough business that they don't need mines, so I will gladly pay more to go where I get a response or an update. read more

We're vacationing in Hawaii at the Hilton Hawaiian and someone to watch our 3 kids- 1, 8, and 9 year olds. We needed someone that same day and happy kids responded quick!!! They had someone available that same morning. Surprised at their quick availability. Will recommend if someone needs a nanny in a time crunch. Will keep their number our visit next year. read more

Every February my husband and I visit Hawaii. This year we brought our two kids (21 months and 4 months) with us. Happy Kids and Auntie Jackie were recommended to us and all I can say is thank the lord! Auntie Jackie has been a dream to work with. She is always 15 minutes early, brings amazing toys with her, send updates including pics throughout the sits and really connected with my kids. I can't recommend Auntie Jackie enough! Also Happy Kids was great and super easy to work with as well read more

Amazing experience! Jackie was awesome and my daughter took to her within minutes! She came fully prepared with coloring books, toys, craft items and a laminator! My daughter is very leery of strangers and totally adored her!!! Five stars for Jackie and HKM! read more

Our family vacation and husband's 50th birthday was amazing - thanks to happy kids! Our nanny, Keo, was awesome! Our kids loved her, she was honest, smart, and did a great job! I was a little worried about leaving the kids while we were on vacation - even if for a few hours - but after the first night, I wondered why I hadn't done it before! She made cookies with them, brought a game "candy land", and watched Halloween movies (we were there on Halloween). Happy Kids made our vacation amazing - we had lots of family time but also got to see some nightlife and some amazing restaurants, while Keo was with them! I will definitely use their service again - I will recommend them to anyone traveling to the Hawaiian islands! Thanks, Keo and happy kids!! read more

We used Happy Kids Oahu during our first ever Hawaii trip and they made an already great vacation even better. Our sitter, Barbara, came over to our airbnb location on three separate occasions to watch our two young kids (ages 1 & 4) and was superb. She took our kids to the local pool, ensured they were fed and got them to sleep. We were very happy with her. Happy Kids Oahu was an excellent company to work with. They were quick to respond to our childcare requests and even switched some of their sitters around to accommodate Barbara being able to watch the kids for a third time. They also have their sitters come with a bag of toys and books which is a parent's dream! I would definitely recommend them! read more

I can not say enough wonderful things about Happy Kids! They are one of the best Child Care services I have ever used! With excellent communication and very clear details about the services they provide - along with terrific babysitters - it makes setting up a baby-sitter a breeze!! We have used them both times we have visited Ohau and it is so great that I could set everything up before our arrival. The sitters we worked with were warm, energetic, professional and wonderful with our sons!! Also, I appreciated that there was a little bit of flexibility when we found that we wanted to change our plans here and there. Happy Kids was there to help with our schedule and everything was moved around seamlessly!! We have a special needs son and he does require extra care and attention, but each of the sitters we worked with were absolutely terrific and really helped put our minds at ease - so that we knew our twin boys were in excellent hands and we could relax and enjoy our vacation!! I highly recommend booking through Happy Kids - you will not be disappointed! I know the name is "Happy Kids" -- but it should also be called, "Happy Parents"!! Thank you, Thank you for such an amazing service! It is obvious you guys really care about what you do!! read more

I had an adult only destination wedding. Many of my cousins and friends flew over to the islands, and they brought their kids along. In order to respect our wishes, they had to hire babysitters. I helped them find babysitting services on Yelp - so I passed on this information to them. For my wedding day, my cousins ended up hiring Happy Kids. Happy Kids watched 5 kids: 2 babies and 3 kids under 5. I asked my cousins how the babysitting services turned out and this is what they had to say: - Happy Kids were very patient and attentive - Impressive - the sitters got the kids to sleep without soda or candy - Prepared - the sitters brought over Legos, movies - Cost was reasonable: $25 an hour each, for 5 kids. We used them for 7 hours! - All my nephews and nieces were A-OK and the parents were able to party downstairs (my cousins were staying in the same hotel that we got married so it was easy for them to check on the kids throughout the event) My cousins had only great things to say about this service, and I am glad that Yelp was able to help us find a reputable and reasonable service. Thank you for allowing my family to respect my wishes and also have a wonderful break without their kids! read more

I wanted to let everyone with kids know that happy kids Oahu is the best nanny service I ever had. They made my family vacation perfect while in Waikiki(Hilton Hawaiian village). My daughtes 2 and 8 were delighted with the two nannies we had Annette and Jilli both so professionally prepared and fun. They took my daughter s to the park and pool so they were not stuck in the room while mom and dad had some quality time. They were updating me of what they were up to, they came with appropriate toys for their age, made bracelet. I felt so at ease leaving my kids with then they are very professional. I got in contact with then before I arrived in Hawaii and they arrage everything. Prices are great $20.00 dollar per hour up to 2 kids. The only complaint my daughter's had is that they didn't want the Nanny to go. My only regret is that they don't have nannies here in New York. I highly recommend happy kids Oahu. read more

I have been on island for over a decade and been exposed to really questionable childcare companies. I will ONLY recommend HappyKidsMaui. Nannies of all ages and walks of life for children from every corner of the world. NOT ONE person has relayed displeasure and 9 times out of 10, the response to this amazing service is over the top thrilled. I personally know at least 12 families who refuse to go with any other company and have stated a major highlight of their trip was the HappyKids nanny experience. Highly qualified, experienced and oooooozing Aloha read more

Happy kids is the best nanny service I've ever used, bar none! I put a request in online, and I was contacted immediately via telephone by a happy kids employee. They answered all of my questions, & put me completely at ease. I made the reservation. Then, a day before the reservation, due to matters beyond my control (thanks a lot hurricane Ana! :) I found out that I needed to change the time the nanny was babysitting my child! Happy Kids was so gracious, & didn't bat an eye about changing plans at the last minute, Melissa, from happy kids, showed up at our hotel at precisely the time I requested. She was so good with my daughter. They did crafts & Melissa took my daughter to play at the pool. While my husband and I were away, Melissa kept me up-to-date on their activities, via text. The whole experience was wonderful! I'd definitely use happy kids again. And that's saying a lot, considering that I trusted them with my most prized possession. read more

We used Happy Kids for their nanny services during our stay at the Four Seasons Resort Ko Olina. This was our first family trip without bringing a nanny so I was a bit apprehensive to say the least. Upon our arrival, the concierge immediately put me at ease by letting know me my children would be in great hands with Jackie. Apparently, she is well-known at the resort as she is often there with many families. I can't begin to thank Happy Kids enough for pairing us with such a wonderful nanny. Jackie arrived 15 minutes early to meet us which also allowed me enough time to give her instructions needed. She made us all feel comfortable throughout our entire experience with her. Our children are 10, 5 and 3 and they each took to Jackie instantly. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the instant connection especially with my 5 year old who can take a little longer to warm up. She also brought along plenty of activities to keep them entertained. The kids were so excited each time they learned she would be back the following day that by the end of our trip they were calling her Auntie Jackie. We will be returning and for our next visit to the island we will definitely request Auntie Jackie. She made our family's vacation that much more memorable! Thank you, Jackie!! read more

My experience with Happy Kids was amazing!!! My friend, my one year old son, and I came to Honolulu. We decided we wanted an adult day so I contacted Happy Kids. Before this I had never left my son with someone I didn't know. He is normally ALWAYS with me so I was extremely nervous about leaving him. I almost canceled because I got that nervous. A couple days before our scheduled nanny service I got an email stating Jackie was going to be our nanny and it had her bio with it. After reading the bio, I felt better about situation but was still little nervous. (Yes, I'm one of those crazy, hard to trust anyone with my baby type moms.) Day of service, Jackie showed up right on time at our resort room. She brought age appropriate toys for my son to play with. I immediately felt a connection with Jackie and my nervousness started fading away. We sat down and talked for a half hour and let my son be around her before we left for our adult day. Leaving I was still a little nervous but my son had seemed to go to her just fine. (Which he hardly ever goes to anyone when it comes to strangers.) During our adult day, Jackie texted me updates and sent pictures. This I appreciated so much and made me feel completely comfortable with her watching my son. Helped me relax and truly enjoy my day, kid free, in paradise. And in the pictures you could tell my son absolutely loved her!!!!! We ended up having a fun, much needed, adult day! I would recommend Happy Kids to everyone. And our nanny Jackie. She was AMAZING. She was understanding and very reliable. You can tell she has a big heart, down to earth, and has a passion for kids. One of the sweetest people I've ever met. She went above and beyond to not only take care of my son, but also make me feel comfortable. Jackie was also flexible and was able to extend the service if needed/ was available. Happy Kids is blessed to have her as a nanny. I would recommend Jackie to anyone, especially those mama's like me who like to worry a little more than normal. I can proudly say I am 100% comfortable with the nanny service! Which is the best feeling as a mama knowing you can trust someone with your little one and be worry free!!! read more

Our experience with Happy Kids was wonderful. Andrea B. (Kauai) was more than we could have ever hoped for. We needed her for multiple days during our stay in Kauai and she made herself available for us and our sweet baby girl who was only 9 weeks old at the time. I felt very comfortable leaving our daughter with her. We will definitely work with Happy Kids again! read more

I was hesitant to use a service other than who Aulani recommended. I'm so glad I did! We actually tried to book only through the hotel, however their company was mostly booked up. We ended up being much happier and comfortable on the day we had Kelcy from Happy kids. We have three kids, ages 4 and under. I never thought I'd feel comfortable with someone watching them all at once. Kelcy was so great that my 2 year old didn't want to be away from her. She cried every time Kelcy would leave! She was so great with our infant, I was never worried to leave. It was a relief to have some time in the sun with our older kids and not have the baby in the heat all day! Best decision ever. read more

I came to Honolulu last week for a work function and needed a babysitter for a full day for my seven month old. Happy Kids was recommended by the Hyatt. I had a great talk with the manager in Maui ahead of time. When Jumilla arrived at my hotel room I was immediately put at ease. She was sweet, smart and great with the baby. They had a great day and I knew she was in good hands. That kind of care is definitely worth the $20 an hour fee, especially when you are far from home. I highly recommend this babysitting service! read more

We have just returned from our trip to Hawaii and we used Happy Kids services on 4 occasions. We were lucky enough to have Emerald look after our 3 Aussie kids. We had some reservations as our 7 year old daughter has Cerebral Palsy and is non verbal, needs full assistance in every day living and cant walk however within minutes of meeting Emerald any reservations were put at ease and we just enjoyed our free time. Emerald went above all expectations, she brought loads of games, toys and craft activities. Emerald and my daughter made shell necklaces and my boys just loved her and she was just simply great at her job. read more

We were lucky to have Jennifer for 2 nights looking after our 4 and 2 year old. She was amazing, and instantly made our kids feel at home. She came supplied with games, activities, toys and books! She even took the kids out for dinner, and took them for a walk around Waikiki! Currently works at a child care centre as her day job, so very experienced with all age groups. Couldn't recommend her enough. Our eldest was sad to say goodbye! If you are lucky enough to have Jennifer, enjoy your time away from the bubs, because they are in great hands. read more

After doing a lot of reaserch and contacting a few companies Happy kids was one of the few which got back to me. I required 2 days of a few hours early start in the north shore, the first day to see if the nanny was a good fit and the second we had booked shark cage diving; as well as 2 evenings in Waikiki so we could have a romantic dinner and couples massage. After confirming all the details such as price, min hours dates time address of accommodation etc via email or me calling the business I paid my deposit a few months in advanced. I heard nothing except to say they had received my deposit until I contacted them via email 2 weeks beforehand requesting they call me with some info on the nanny who would be looking after my child. I received an email back saying they were unable to call international numbers so I called them with now a week to go before we were due to leave for Oahu. I rang and asked if I could please just get some info on who would be caring for my child during the stay, to be told that there were people who needed care now and his case wasn't a priority. I explained that I had booked a few months ago and was told that they had put an expression of interest out there but no one had responded and they were still looking for someone to babysit my son on the times, dates available, but it wasn't a priority case as there were nannies needed now and the next few days they had to find/match. I asked what my options were and they said they would keep looking and contact us 2 days beforehand and let us know. (By this stage I'm freaking out 'cause 2 days for me to find a nanny when they had months and what if they found one in the meantime? ) I decided to wait it out to be told 2 days beforehand that sorry they could not accommodate us for the early starts in turtle bay but they could accommodate us in Waikiki with Joanna the for the follow hours. (Which were 1 hour later than requested) and her bio. I agreed because something was better than nothing. Only hubby went shark cage diving and when we tried to change our dinner reservation to a later time we were unable and had to take bubs to the restaurant to secure the table and then one of us leave to drop him to get babysat.... Now onto Joanna what an angel. She really put my mind ay ease and made me feel comfortable. She was perfectly suited to my little man and he literally fell asleep in her arms. The next night he was sick and she was very nurturing and understanding towards him, even bringing some of his favorite type of toys to play with. I wouldn't recommend the company based on my experience if you are a person who likes to plan things in advance. If you need someone last minute definitely the people to call. read more

My husband and I stayed in Honolulu at the Royal Hawaiian for a week & we had a couple of events to go to at night. We had our 7 month old daughter with us and we had never left her with a sitter before so we were quite nervous doing so. We researched several companies & after speaking with Kelly decided we were most comfortable with Happy Kids. Much to our surprise our expectations were totally exceeded with our sitter Jennifer! She was absolutely incredible! We got pictures and updates every hour. She followed our feeding schedule perfectly and when we arrived back our LO was sound asleep. We had her both nights and would absolutely recommend this to anyone! Not to mention she was CPR infant certified which was a huge plus for us! read more

Our nanny Jackie was wonderful! Our boys warmed up quickly to her. Jackie also got into the water with our boys which was important to me since I am paranoid about water safety. Another thing that she did that I really valued was helping my oldest son get out of his shell, she helped teach him how to play flag football by showing him how to, so that he could play with other boys. That made a huge difference! Thank you Jackie for all of your love care and energy! read more

I am a Hawaii resident and a contracted part-time Nanny working for Happy Kids for 3 years now. I've recommended many of my friends to become nannies with Happy Kids because they have been really great accomodating to my busy yet flexible schedule. I would never put my name out there if I didn't think this was a great nanny service and agency. You see reviews from clients but rarely any from employees. I can honestly say that Ellie, Manager is great to work with as well as Fran and if you're ever in doubt...ask! You won't be penalized for declining a job and the luxury of having control over my work schedule is less stressful for me than a 9-5 Monday thru Friday boring work day. I also love the fact that you keep all your tips and regular clients is a plus! But most of all the relationships you build with clients over the years, other Nannies, hotel staff, and Happy Kids is amazing! That is why I love being a Nanny and am continuing to be part of the Happy Kids Ohana! read more

Kelcy was the best. My son just walked out of his room and said, "remember that babysitter in Hawaii? She was the best!" She brought a huge bag of toys that were totally age appropriate. Terrific experience! Put in request online, called and talked to Ellie who helped answer all of our questions (we were a little nervous hiring a "stranger"!). We were in Waikiki (hilton hawaiian village) for six days, and hired Happy Kids sitter for one night and two days (4 hours each). We had the same sitter the whole time. Sitter was AWESOME-- friendly, professional, terrific with our one year old. She knew the hotel grounds so she took her out and about. We were instantly comfortable with her, and our baby loved her too (she reached out to her the second day she came!). She texted us with pictures of what they were doing, and with updates. We were SO GRATEFUL to have a break and to be able to have a date night out :) Would definitely recommend and we will definitely use on our next Hawaii visit! read more

The service was fine. They were able to find a nanny on short notice who kept our kids alive for the night. The problem, as others have said, is with the refundable deposit. If a company tells you your money will be refunded within 14 business days, then I shouldn't have to call after the 15th business day to get the refund. There is no good reason they need to keep the money for a full three weeks, in my view, and I wonder how many parents have forgotten about the deposit and never had it repaid. read more

I used this business for babysitting while on vacation in Hawaii. It was a huge mistake. My son never has an issue with sitters but was crying and clingy the moment the sitter they sent us stepped through the door. We figured it was just some separation anxiety in a new place and had her come back the next day (as previously scheuduled--you can't cancel less than 48 hours in advance without paying a $50 cancellation fee-even if your sitter is terrible). Well, the next day we went up to our room to find our baby alone in his crib, crying his eyes out, completely unattended, while the babysitter was out on the terrace texting. We complained in WRITING to the owner of the business. She did not even bother to reply. read more

Using Happy Kids Oahu was the best decision I could have made when we were in town for a 2 day conference. The communication from my initial inquiry was fast and concise. I had read other reviews on this page and noted that "Jen" was mentioned to be great with infants. I requested Jen to care for my 4 month old and was so happy with her. She's a 10 in my book! Jen was great at sending pictures and updates to me while I was away and I felt 100% comfortable knowing my baby was safe and happy with Jen. We just got back from another vacation in Hawaii, relying on Happy Kids yet again, and they did not disappoint. This time we got another nanny, and the kids (now 4 and 2) instantly loved her too and sent us away. Their only complaint was why can't we have her come every day :-) read more

Our experience with Happy Kids and their assigned nanny "Jackie" was wonderful!!! Once I contacted Happy Kids with the details when the service needed, they were very prompt in contacting me back and able to provide me all the details and ansered my questions through the emails. With in a day, they confirmed Jackie for our son and sent her brief background which assured us that during our stay at Oahu, our son will be well taken care of. On the first day of service, 10 mins before our scheduled time, we were contacted by hotel reception that Jackie is ready to come to our room. This shows her professionalism that she wanted to be there before/on time. As soon as we met with Jackie, we were totally blown away with her kids friendly attitude and general awareness of the area/property. She came prepared with couple of bags filled with kids friendly toys/board games. She was immediately able to connect herself with our son. We felt very comfortable leaving our son under her care while going out. She herself offered to ask us to call her number so that we have her number handly while being out. After we returned our son was excited to tell us how he spent his time with Jackie and he was sad to see her leave. On our next day, our son was excited once he knew, Jackie will be there in the evening to baby sit him. Jackie was again on time and took our son downstairs for a scavenger hunt that was going on. They also read a book together. While we were out we realized that we may be little delayed in getting back to our room and called Jackie to see if she can stay little longer and she readily agreed to it. Once we came back, our son was again ready to tell us all the wonderful activities he did with Jackie. In general our vacation to Oahu/Honolulu became more relaxed and memorable with the services provided by Jackie and Happt kids. On a side note, Jackie knew a lot about the area and gave us many tidbits about the area and helped us to plan some other activities. Without dobut, we will recomend Jackie and Happy Kids for a great and memorable baby sitting experience and would love to take her services next time we visit. read more

We hired Happy Kids 2 times during our 2 week stay at Waikiki Beach. Even though our daughter's 12, and not a baby, we were concerned with leaving her "with a stranger". I've almost never hired a babysitter who I didn't know somehow already. Our daughter absolutely adored Jahmila . She put us at ease and made us feel comfortable. My daughter wanted to spend more time with her, but we had plenty of family plans. Happy Kids is pretty well organized, especially considering there are so many people to help plan things for you. Their description and bio for Jahmila was accurate. They even took the opportunity to match up interests with the sitter & my daughter & they thought of everything. The price is not cheap, but more than fair and definitely worth it. They honored my requests exactly. Their responses were quick, and Jahmila on time & flexible , to boot. She was a pleasure to chat with and have around, as we wrapped up the antics of the evening (on both sides). I researched & I'm picky, and very careful about who my daughter spends time with, no matter what age, or whether I'm present or not. I would hire them again in a heart beat, and ask for Jahmila again, too! -Stacey LaRoy read more
