Spring Creek disc golf course is located within the boundaries of the lake Arcadia park. There are…read moretwo 18 hole courses. The red and the blue. The red is a little shorter and is more inland while the blue is closer to the water. We played the blue and after the first hole across an open field you are pretty mini. The woods for the rest. The fairways are tight and lots of high grass and woods. Pay attention to where your disc lands as it can be a tough find in some areas. The holes are all pretty short and it was pretty easy to navigate and follow the signage. This was my first time here and really enjoyed it. Took just shy of 2 hrs to play. It is free to play sort of. You have to pay 10 dollars per car with max 5 occupants to get into the park itself.

A trip to Lake Arcadia can be a modest affair, staying in the car driving through the park around sunset, maybe walking out on the dock watching the sun fade away for the day, or it can be an all day adventure with boating and picnics and barbecues. Early on in 2020 we realized we needed to renew our park pass for Lake Arcadia as we could see this may be a loooong year (boy, we were right on the money). Eighty dollars will get a vehicle in the park for a year if you are an OKC resident. Edmond residents can buy a year park pass for a 20% discount per year (about $64 dollars). This gets you unlimited entry into the park. I'd highly recommend it. I've always said one of my most favorite parts of living in Oklahoma has been the celebration in the sky at the end of daylight ringing in that night is upon us. I'm not from Oklahoma and I will say that the sunsets here are second to none. This park, especially the dock facing west next to the boat ramp is one of my most favorite places to watch the relay of the daylight sun passing into the Southern Hemisphere. Just as dusk settles in wildlife really begin to peek out from the woods. If you have kiddos and can manage to work in a drive through Arcadia at dusk, they'd love to see all the deer (definitely deer), and maybe turkeys, cranes, eagles, scissor-tailed flycatchers, and hawks that come around when most of the all-day lake goers have left for the day. Treat yourself to a sunset here and learn why it's worth every bit of $80 to get to come here as often as you want. October 2020

Big park with lots to see! My husband and I went to play disc golf with our pup and enjoyed it…read moredearly. It's a little bit of a hike to play, but definitely a must-try for some minor adventure over the weekend. 18 holes total. Hole 1 is off of Santa Fe just passed W. Covell. You will see a smaller side entrance into the park right next to a large pavilion. You can't miss it!

I am a pretty active discgolfer and have played quite a few courses. This is definitely at the top…read moreof my list for courses in the okc area. It is not for beginners though. There are a lot of trees and wooded areas to lose discs in and the course isn't marked very well. If you get here and can't find your way around, there are usually local golfers that can help you. That being said, there are a lot of terrain changes and obstacles to make for a fun game. Even though there isnt a map to look at it's not too difficult to make your way through the course and they are making it easier all the time with new signage. Mitch Park is huge, so when you get to it pull into the West entrance off of Covell. Follow the street to the back left and park in the circle parking by the Kids Playground. From here, 18's basket and Hole 1 teepad is located behind the large pavilion..away from the circle parking. There is a board that will tell you what pin position the course is on and from there you will see how nice the course is. Have fun and ask for help if you need it. There are usually plenty of friendly people out there, most will let you play with them if you ask. There are also a few out of the way benches around the course and away from the walking trails...to get back to nature.

You might not realize this park is here, thanks to the trees that fill in all around the area. In…read morefact, I can only see it from the street in the winter, when the leaves are gone and you can see through from 50th that there is, in fact, a nice little park through there. We came pretty early on a cloudy Saturday and for a long time we were the only people there. That's pretty great considering our 2.5 year old is only just now big enough for climbing big toys and sliding down. It's fun when there are other kids, but some time when it's just us means we can help show her what she can and can't do at her size. Maybe a soccer game or baseball game ended at the nearby group athletics area, because all the sudden there were tons of other families. Lots of parental supervision, too, so we felt like between the kids and their parents, everyone was pretty well-behaved and watching out for the little ones. There is water nearby, so there are lots of ducks and geese, and I'm sure it gets a lot prettier when everything turns green and starts to flower. The big toys were well-maintained, the grounds were nice. Although -- this is one of the times I'm actually thankful everyone is still in diapers! Porta-potties are definitely not a friend to the potty-training parent! But, I'm honestly just happy we have parks at all, when you look at other public works like the state of our schools and teacher pay! But that's a review for another day.
