An appointment to come look at the work was scheduled for early November and that appointment was good. I was looking forward to working with Yankee. However, I never heard from them again. In early December, I contacted to ask if they were still planning to give me an estimate and was told I would get it around the end of the month. At that point I stopped contacting them, and as of today, have not seen an estimate nor had anyone follow up.

Thankfully we did not contract with this builder to build our new home. I have learned that his…read morebusiness practices are unethical. He cost us about $8000 when he encouraged the framer to cancel his contract with our builder thus delaying our project for two months. He then spread rumors that our job site was unsafe thus potentially further impacting our project, damaging the reputation of our builder and possibly losing business for him. It seems that Houghton has been building homes for a long time, I hope that his success is not due to underhanded means.

We had a whole home remodel by this company. We were moving from the Pacific Northwest and needed…read morethe remodel completed prior to the moving van arrival with a houseful of possessions. They did not meet their stated completion date and we had to move in with construction going on for another couple of months! The project start date was delayed two months as well. Some of their work was done well but other things were not, and we requested them to be corrected when significant. When they were nearly finished, they started balking at correcting errors and demanding more money, and that is when we stopped the project with a few tasks left uncompleted. At times they behaved professionally and polite and other times they would act insulted and angry with our requests for corrections or additions ignored.

George has a very good attention to detail and takes his time to make sure it is right. He is easy to communicate with and knows how the project should look and be built. He keeps the work areas clean and takes pride in what he does.

He responded right away, gave a good estimate and we had him do the remodel. Work was done in the time he estimated and for the price he quoted. Very satisfied with all his work and hope to get him to do more this year.

We knew it was going to be a long wait, so we were happy when we got the email that it was finally our turn for install! The three guys that did our install were very professional and worked very hard. They were here during the hottest week of August, so I give them huge props for getting everything done. They did some small bush and tree removal before the fence install. They got rid of all the debris, left the yard in great condition when they left, and most importantly, the fence looks great! We have some other projects on our dreamboats - we will definitely be contacting them again for their help!
