We interviewed a few contractors and after meeting Daryl and Shelbie, the owners of TrueMark Construction, we felt we found a fit. They have a professional process and approach, starting with a formal design that helped us decide the new layout, materials and colors. After design we felt comfortable with how the finished product would look and went under contract. The construction process put together by Daryl was seamless. He provided constant communication with us to ensure we were aware of any issues, what was going on and what was next. He even provided a weekly video walkthrough of progress if we were not available to discuss it in person. There were only a couple change orders, initiated by us, where we added to the scope. TrueMark had no issues with us requesting these changes and they were able to keep within the original timeline. The final product is exactly what we expected, perfection. They designed our layout and brought in material options based on our style so we didn't have to hunt around. It turned out beautifully. One concern with construction is always the mess and dirt that travels throughout the house. This was NOT the case with Daryl and his crew. The dust was very well contained and vacuumed daily, plus these guys were on their hands and knees cleaning the covered floors with a sponge often. It truly was a pleasure to work with True Mark! We are disappointed they are moving so we can't use them for our next job.

He and his partner were on time, respectful of our property. Most importantly they did a great job on every surface and at a fair price. They got a lot of work done in a single day, including an area they missed but cleaned later. They did a pretty good job of putting everything back in the right place and were very attentive when we did our walk around inspection. I would highly recommend Kagan for the quality of work, responsiveness and pricing. I will definitely consider him for sealing my concrete or for concrete projects. He is hardworking and deserves your consideration for your work as he grows his business.

I am so disappointed in the service we received. I feel like everything about the job went wrong…read morefrom the moment I signed the contract (that I had to insist on, and thankfully I did considering the following). I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's honestly been a nightmare. We hired Kagan to do a large concrete slab and a retaining wall in our backyard and not only were they late or no-shows almost every single day, once they got their first installment of payment, but it is actually done completely wrong (wall isn't straight, a large dip in the slab causing water to pool by our foundation, and also no joints in the slab which we've since found out is necessary and will cause cracking if not fixed). then when we expressed discontent, they made promises to refund a portion of the cost and then changed their mind and that they'd rather try to fix it. at this point we didn't really trust them but they told us exactly how they'd fix it, and then all they did was smear some more concrete (and leaves!) on it (i've included pictures). they said they were licensed and insured, and I now know to check that and not trust someone at their word. once we escalated the conversation after they said they "fixed it" and expressed that this is enough of a problem for us to have to go through legal channels, he basically said sue me. so, after spending time getting quotes from other companies on what it's going to take to fix it, we are now in the process of speaking to an attorney to sue for what it's going to take. we have every communication back and forth saved and based on that information and the pictures, our attorney says we have a good case. I'm honestly bummed that it's come to this, and I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I am so supremely disappointed in the lack of integrity this company shows and am not willing or able to pay for their very expensive mistake that will only cause more damage to my home as time goes on. They should certainly not be doing large concrete jobs, and even if they did learn to do it right eventually, I could never recommend someone with so little integrity. I will update this comment if/when there is a resolution and if they made it right.
