Customer Service Should Still Matter, Especially at a Pharmacy.
I am not someone who typically writes negative reviews. In fact, I much prefer recognizing people and businesses for doing a wonderful job. However, after multiple disappointing experiences at this particular CVS pharmacy, I feel compelled to share my concerns.
The customer service at this location has become consistently unpleasant. The staff often seems irritated or inconvenienced when customers have questions, and unfortunately, I have witnessed this same dismissive attitude toward other customers as well.
What concerns me most is that this is a pharmacy. We are talking about medications, prescriptions, and people's health. Customers should feel completely comfortable asking a few questions and seeking clarification without being made to feel ignorant or as though they are wasting someone's time. A pharmacist's responsibility extends beyond simply filling prescriptions. Providing guidance, answering questions, and helping patients understand their medications are essential parts of the profession.
My most recent experience was the final straw. During a phone conversation with a female employee on October 27th, I asked a couple of questions regarding my prescription. Rather than responding with patience and professionalism, she began speaking to me in an exaggeratedly slow, condescending manner, as though I were incapable of understanding her. I laughed, I literally couldn't believe she did that, she was on speaker phone and my husband heard it too, and
couldn't believe it either!
I understood what she was saying. I was asking for clarification. There is a difference.
If this had been a single unpleasant encounter, I would have gladly chalked it up to someone having a bad day. We all have them, and I try to give people grace. But this has become a pattern over multiple visits and interactions, and that is what makes it so disappointing.
This location is extremely convenient for me, which is why I have continued giving it another chance. Unfortunately, convenience is no longer enough to justify repeatedly being treated this way. I have decided to transfer my prescriptions to another pharmacy.
I sincerely hope someone in CVS management who has influence over hiring, training, and customer service standards takes the time to read this. A little kindness, patience, and professionalism go a very long way, particularly when dealing with people who may already be concerned about their health.
Customers should never feel intimidated or belittled for asking questions about their medications.
I don't expect special treatment. I simply expect to be treated with courtesy and respect. And I believe every customer deserves the same.
