They were suppose to be done in 4 weeks and I called them when they were suppose to be complete (I was out of town) and they told me they had not even started the floors and they should be able to start in 2 additional weeks! That was frustrating especially because there was zero communication that they were so delayed. When I got home there was a pile of plywood in the middle of my house about 4 feet tall. I have two little curious kids who started climbing all over the plywood and it seemed extremely dangerous. So I texted them to please remove the plywood ASAP because my kids were climbing all over them and they were in the middle of the house and I asked them to move it to a different room where I could close the door. They then told me that they quit the project (after they tore up all the previous flooring). They said they were busy with bigger projects and this was a smaller project and too difficult to match the stain since a few years have passed and the stain color changes with time. I was in a pickle because they were the only ones with the custom wood and stain. So I had to hire a contractor who told me that they were the only company who could do the job and he convinced them to finish the job. The end result looked beautiful, but I don't recommend them at all.

I caution anyone who is considering using this business against hiring Solomon. He is…read moreunprofessional, unreliable and his work is subpar. My first clue should have been that he was immediately available for the job - he quoted the job one evening and wanted to start the next morning. He asked for more than 30% deposit up front, and within 15 minutes of cashing the check and starting the job, I received a text message from Solomon that he underestimated the materials cost by $400 and asked that I cover the expense. I declined and drove up to Home Depot myself to price the material - the entire material cost did not reach $400, let alone exceed the estimate. Considering he had just cashed my depot of nearly $2k, I decided to proceed with the job. The next 10 days were an absolute nightmare. I am embarrassed for him at the quality of his work. No caulking, no proper sealing. I literally could have painted better myself, and should have. Overspray everywhere, no clean lines. And, he brought children to my home - sleepy teenagers in headphones yelling out music lyrics while making an unsophisticated attempt at professional work. Let me not forget the time he wanted to work through the weekend, and literally asked for a key to my house to use while I was gone. Absolutely NEVER. He does not know how to float & tape, cut in, match paint, keep paint off of tiles and flooring, and he has no ability to take direction or problem solve. And his timeliness... he says he is going to show up at 7 am, shows up at 10 am with no excuse. Then at 10:15 has to run to Home Depot but then something comes up and he shows up late afternoon. Can I mention that the first time I provided ultra clear direction to him was after sleeping on my hardwood floors for 2 nights because he was working on my master bedroom for THREE days! It's an 1800 sq ft house, the whole of which could be painted in 3 days. Day three I asked him to wrap up my bedroom so I could get back to my life and to clean up the horrible paint lines, pics of which I will post. His reply is that things look good to him and that I am being too picky. Then he immediately quits, and has the nerve to send his helper back to my door for a $10 can of spackle. Y'all, I gave this man 60% of the job cost and on the 3rd day of him working in my master bedroom and asking him to be timely and clean, he quits mid sentence. This is theft. Strongly caution you against hiring this man. Let my lesson and the stupid tax I am paying save you the pain and the $.

I hire JEI to do a number of jobs around a property I was going to rent. For one, I had to continuously ask what the status was (It was property I was fixing up, I wasn't there) versus them volunteering the information. They said they would come out on days and never showed. I never knew how many hours they had worked or how many hours they needed. I had to continuously ask and ask for that information when they should have been sending out updates. Additionally, no upfront quote or estimation was given so I had no idea how long they would take and thus no idea how much they would charge and when we got our final bill it was much more than I was anticipating. Also, thinks kept taking 'longer than expected'. Admittedly, I should have known better, but this was a learning experience for me, always ask for a quote up front. TL:DR - overcharged and I had no idea it was coming, no quote, no estimation. Go with a company that will give you a bid / quote for larger jobs. Don't go with this hourly company.

They replaced some discolored brick mortar on the front of my house. Before starting work, they prepped by taping over my new windows. They chipped around the stone, removing the old mortar and replacing it with a matching color. They also managed to level and tile a lower window sill that was seriously uneven, a small but tough job rejected by another stone mason. Because they're so strong, I asked if they would pull out three small dead trees for me and they did that too. The trees were hauled away in the back of their truck at the end of the job. I highly recommend these guys!
