My grandma said the worker got upset with her saying that's not a manicure.. then she started arguing with her employee in their language. Not sure what about. Then continued to do the work in a rough manner. When my grandma got home she told me what happened and said she said she apologized to them for being an inconvenience. I want her to know as a customer she was not an inconvenience nor in the wrong. I don't know if the worker was having a bad day, a breakup, or a headache, but either way there was no reason to act the way she did, when all that was wanted done was polish removal and paint. Apparently, I didn't learn from this first time when the chips and cracks started. KaiLee was on phone nearly the entire time I was in her chair. I specifically asked for rounded nails and came out with square. I asked her to correct. The second time, same thing plus peeling. Also, the pedi was pathetic. Poorly trimmed and zero, nada, no shiny topcoat. In light of the product failure, I personally went in and scheduled a fix, was given a time. I showed up, but KaiLee did not. Instead, after waiting 15-20 mnutes I called her. Said she was 15 minutes out and that Na, the second tech was going to help me out. KaiLee never showed while I was there. I will give Na alot of credit for her work. She did a good job with what she had to work with. I would go back to see Na, however I wish not to go into the shop again. Na, you may wish to find another salon for your talented nail work. I do agree that the products appeared to be older, and that scrimping on products used is a general practice. She was focused on the tv behind her and on her phone. My nails should not be falling off grown out or uneven. She seemed surprised when I barely tipped her but why would I tip a nail artist when she did a terrible job on my nails ? Lesson learned sit in the chair and get them done after seeing how terrible they are going to turn out

But completely meltdown was averted-- she had thankfully just moved to another fabulous salon in Red Wing that had newly opened, River Blu Salon Dayspa. I would follow my hair whisperer anywhere, but I was so glad I only had to follow her to another building in Red Wing. While we have several wonderful salons in Red Wing, you will think you've curled up, "dyed" and gone to "hairven" when you walk into River Blu. The décor in this upscale establishment is so gorgeous and serene that it bumps this spa head and shoulders above the rest of the salons in Red Wing. Located on the first floor of the historic and beautiful St. James Hotel on Main Street, the spa holds cozy relaxation/waiting lounges within, as well as fireplaces, chandeliers, a mani/pedi room and massage room that all bring to mind words like "glam", "relaxing", "modern" and "earthy".
