The items in her store are very cute, some things are a little expensive, but that is to be expected from a boutique special store. I ended up purchasing a Gilmore Girls bag, a Gilmore Girls mug, and a Gilmore Girls magnet. The owner even added a small note on the inside of the bag thanking us for shopping and even included a free "No Cellphones/Luke's" pin! Both the Hickory Book Store and Five Janes recommended each other to me while I was shopping there, so the store owners might perhaps be friends, or maybe even owned by the same people, but regardless, both shops had friendly employees and I loved shopping there!

After a few terse emails in response, I called the store and the owner Andrew told me the card had been spent because they had sent the original purchaser a reminder of the card expiration date (rather than me), giving the gift card information to the original purchaser. No apology for sending the reminder to the wrong person, just an explanation that "that's how our system works" and no attempt to rectify the situation. I was excited to come to the store and shop using my card, and I certainly won't be shopping there anymore after the rudeness and dismissiveness of the owner. Avoid this business!
