We bought a set of appliances from Durochers about 3 years ago. Last September, our refrigerator…read morestopped working. During the first service call, the repair people somehow cracked the inside of the fridge. I was told there is no way to fix the damage. The refrigerator needs a part from Samsung that has come in damaged now 4 different times. Durochers can order the part for next day delivery, so they could have tried far more than 4 times, btw. The last time, the part sat at Durochers for over 3 weeks before they even inspected it. We have repeatedly asked for a manager to contact us, but been ignored every time. We have not had a working refrigerator in over 6 months now, but Durochers hasn't offered an apology or any sort of assistance.

I cannot begin to report that Durochers had the best salespeople and delivery workers I have ever seen in the appliance business. For starters, saleswoman Kathy C. went out of her way to help me with scheduling my most recent delivery. Even on her day off, she kindly helped me with some questions I asked her about. The delivery and installation men were Superlative. I had the best experience with Justin and Stephen. They were very prompt and gave me updates on when they would arrive, complete with texted maps of where they were in terms of getting to my house. Their installation was very well done, and I contribute that to the attention to detail they had in doing it. They was extremely courteous and respectful. I give Durochers great credit for having delivery and service people like these two young men. Outstanding! I have always been pleased with the appliances, service and delivery at Durochers. In addition when I needed a broken refrigerator shelf replaced the service department was excellent. I actually received the shelf a day after I ordered it. I was also given information on how to get reimbursed by the glass company as the shelf was still under warranty. ( I want to add that I had a $500 gift certificate from Lowes that I could have used, but preferred to deal with Durochers instead. By dealing with them I avoided the aggravation and hassles in dealing with a big box store that I felt could care less about its' customers).

I tried giving SERVALL (appliance parts) a second chance. However, history tends to repeat itself!…read more I downloaded this YELP app just to broadcast my terrible experience at the Conant St location in Maumee OH. 1st visit (a year ago): Same middle aged female working behind the parts counter: I stopped in to purchase a simple $15 part for my dryer. Let's just say she provokes, manipulates, and encourages argumentative behavior. Never knew a 20 minute police interrogation was necessary for a $15 part. Difficult experience for a very simple request 2nd visit: Same middle aged female working behind parts counter: Again, remembering my last experience I was somewhat expecting to bite my tongue. How bad could it be. All I needed to do was buy the same exact $15 part I bought last year. Nightmare begin: She took my request for the "same part as last year" as if I wanted a free $15 part. Not the case at all. I figured it would be easier to reference an old invoice than start fresh with a year, make, and model. I was quickly reminded of a "no refunds" program. Confused I repeated " I am just interested in purchasing the same part as last year" She is now more interested in figuring out how I concluded my diagnostics to my dryer than actually just selling me the "simple" $15 part. My "simple" comment gave her the idea to then let me know that nothing was "simple" in life. At this point I was not looking a dryer part. I was looking to remove myself from being verbally attacked. I let her know that I had also tried doing business there a year ago. However, she was pretty good at making sure my visit was short. Both times I have found myself ordering the part online and avoiding someone else's bad day. AVOID SERVALL

I also tried SERVAL Appliance Parts, it also was my first experience, which occurred before…read morechecking yelp, and reading Mike B's review! Wrong move on my part! During my first visit to SERVALL, there were two females, one older one working behind the counter and apparently the same middle aged female Mike refers to working in back. When I asked the apparently inexperienced woman behind the counter if they could check out the solenoid valve I had removed from my dishwasher, she had to check with the woman in back. In her response to the women up front and myself in front of the counter, was also was provocative, argumentative and manipulating and encouraging a response I refused to give. Why give her that satisfaction by responding to her provocative behavior. Her response to both the woman and myself was essentially this: They could check the valve for continuity, but that would not insure it was good, since the diaphragm could also be bad. But instead of offering to check it anyway, she began to tell me indirectly by yelling from the back, what I should have done, request a service call so they could check the valve, kind of rubbing my nose in the situation, but not offering to help. I thought this was in poor taste, since if the valve was bad I would buy another. Of course I could take the chance of buying the valve anyway, but if it was not the problem, I could not bring it back. With all that behind me I left the business never to return. Later a former appliance person would tell me to check the valve by remounting it, and directly applying power. When I did this, the valve appeared to work, but there still was no flow. But instead of taking the woman's advice that the diaphragm was bad, I removed the valve, and soaked only the plastic potion (not the coil) in a one to one dilution of an acidic type toilet bowl cleaner and water, for ten minutes. This cleaned the valve of calcium deposits, and from then on, the valve has worked perfectly. Lately, I have also been informed by a Chemist that CLR, or calcium, lime and rust remover would also work too, along with phosphoric acid or even the use of straight lemon juice or undiluted white vinegar for 30 minutes. Over all, I wonder how many dishwashers are scrapped each year, or how many expensive services calls are made, or even new valves sold, when the old one can probably be cleaned at home, without the abuse of SERVALL's counter help, or their crack service department! I too agree with Mike B. - AVOID SERVALL, at least until they post an apology!
