It is horribly plain and lifeless when you walk in, with white walls and a stale feeling about it. There seem to be too many plain chairs lined up, and the long corridor dotted with closed doors looks more like an interrogation center than anything good. Ok, not that visiting the dentist is harmless, but I had a strange sense that I should leave, and that if something bad happened I would remember that I hadn't left when my instinct told me to. Clearly I was in a strange mood Thursday last week when I visited, because two smiling faces and the best dentist I've ever met worked on me. She told me things no one has told me (not american or scottish dentists) about grinding my teeth and a broken filling (ok this later could have happened recently). She showed me xrays and told me her recommendations. I'm heading back this week for the first part, which is some kind of guard to stop my teeth being worn down due to clenching (how was she to know?). Most importantly, I was not hurried in and out. She answered questions, she was knowledgeable and polite, and I felt like more than anyone before she cared what happened to my teeth. Thanks!

Haymarket dental care is run by husband and wife team Charlotte and David who are both lovely and they have a team of dentists at the practice. My Dentist Lorna Burns is just fantastic! She talkes me through any procedures and options which leaves me at ease. The place itself is spotlessly clean even down to putting plastic covers on the handle of the dentists light above you. This is an NHS dentist but you can opt for paying extra for example paying to have a white filling rather than an amalgalm. There are two parking spaces at the front of the dentists which are free. I reccommended this dentists to two of my work colleagues who hadn't been to the dentists in years as they both had a fear of the dentist and both were reassurlngly and gently eased into it and both have overcome their fear and are pleased with the results. They text you a reminder the day before your appointment which ensures I never miss an appointment. very handy!

I booked my first appointment last week and showed up today at my appointed time. It was easy to register as a new patient, and I was thrilled that Citrus is on the NHS and therefore very affordable! I had a little bit of a hard time finding this place, but Meadows Place curves so Citrus Dental (and the health clinic it's with) are along the Meadows and the higher numbers curve around away from the Meadows. Although the building is a bit nondescript from the outside, it's nice and modern inside. I saw the dentist Drew today and he was excellent. I was nervous ahead of time that it would hut, but he was extremely gentle and explained exactly what he was doing to keep me fully informed throughout the dental check and then the cleaning. I had x-rays done and couldn't believe they're only £4 on the NHS, so well worth it. After my dental check, I had the cleaning and it was pain-free and left my teeth feeling great (and only cost £10!). I'm really happy with my new dentist and, while I wouldn't say I'm excited for my next appointment (because who can be excited about the dentist?), I know I'll be in good hands when I go back in six months.

My fears were understood and something I'd agonised over for years became manageable. Years later, I find my dental visits almost routine. Sure, I don't look forward to them but there's no real fear involved. In all the time I have been coming to Marchmont I've been treated with the utmost care, respect, dignity and understanding. I would thoroughly recommend Marchmont to anyone. Note that I have progressed from IV sedation to having extractions and fillings without IV sedation. This has all made possible by my trust in Marchmont and the patience of their excellent staff. Edited. Says I'm from Macmerry, but I'm not.

The staff; nurses and dentists alike, are always friendly and on hand to answer any questions you might have about your dental care and are interested in making your experience as pleasant as possible. Visiting the dentist can be daunting but at Marchmont Dental Care the dentists always manage to put my mind at ease, especially John, with his witty chat. In conclusion, if all dentists were like this you'd want to visit every few weeks not once every six months. I can also say that my teeth have never been so healthy: you know those adverts you see for toothpaste/mouthwash etc. and you don't know what to believe: they cut through the bull and give it to you like it is and what is best for you and your mouth. Great dentistry, five *s

The surgery is very modern, the treatments offered are excellent and the care given second to none. Now I've found a lovely dentist who makes me feel reassured and calm I can honestly say I will never miss an appointment again. I laugh and smile with confidence again and it has made a bigger difference than I would ever have thought possible. A huge thanks to you all! Kindest regards, Eileen

I have experience of using other dentists, having travelled widely in the UK and Europe, and Morningside Dental Clinic are head and shoulders above them all. Some of my treatments involved specialised techniques, and they were all handled with the utmost of care, and with one over-riding philosophy - the patient comes first. They are, in my opinion, very highly recommended, and I have done so to several of my friends and colleagues, who are now patients of Morningside Dental Clinic. Mark Leggatt

I waited over half an hour to get seen at my allocated time, and when needing to book an appointment the receptionist waited 5 minutes, then the dental assistant came through, receptionist asking if the dentist was still writing up notes and that's why she can't do anything on her system, and the dental assistant merely said "Ah dinnie really ken" one more huff gone and a classic shrug of the shoulders before swaggering back to the room.... What a palava, and I'm never going back. Worst dental experience.
