J Joseph Salon has been my go to salon since 2021. I typically see Paige but she is booked and busy and I tend to not plan ahead when it comes to hair cuts or colors. I'm more of a spur of the moment type of gal when it comes to my hair. So my most recent appointment was with Hollie. Paige is a master at coloring hair and cutting hair. I like my hair color to be low maintenance since I don't like having to go to the salon frequently for touch ups. Paige gave me that and when my hair grew out and my roots out my highlights turned into a tasteful balayage. With Hollie, I only did a hair cut but she is great at giving you exactly what you show her and ask her for. Both stylists are very friendly and easy to talk to. The salon is clean, plays good music & offers complimentary drinks. Pricing is on a scale basis depending on the experience of your stylist and I believe the pricing is fair. I drive all the way from St Pete to get my hair done here and definitely recommend both stylists and this salon. read more

I went to this salon for 3 years but now I will never go back. I was serviced by Lorena for about two years. We did my first balayage in May 2025, a neutral bronde color - it was perfect. We then went a little darker in the fall, it was also perfect. In March 2026, I wanted to go back to the neutral bronde balayage, it turned out a warm caramel. Lorena retoned it the following week but it was still too warm and caramel. So then I went back another two weeks later, Lorena redid the balayage - it was a DISASTER. I was platinum blonde, then an ashy bronde, then back to the warm caramel. After the lightening and toning three times and still not the neutral bronde, I had enough. I ripped off the cape and left with wet hair and tears in my eyes. I will never be back. It's clear now that Lorena has no idea what's she's doing and only got the color right the first two times because she asked other employees for help. I am truly baffled that even with her having my original formula she still couldn't get it right. I will never be back and shame on the manager for not offering to correct my hair herself or have a more experienced stylist do the correction. I'm devastated and will now have to find a different salon to correct my hair and spend more money on something that should have been correct the first time. EDIT: Linda from HR called me, she didn't care that my hair was ruined and only offered a half a refund but that doesn't include what I paid for gratuities so I am getting less than half of what I paid for the original balayage and still have to find someone to fix my hair. Lorena also did not take any accountability and blamed it on me not communicating my wants properly, yet I showed her the exact same photos from the first time and continuously emphasized the neutral bronde I wanted. I think my result photo speaks for itself. Good luck if you go here, the salon values money over the client's experience and results. EDIT 2: This salon is a disgrace. They continue to ignore the numerous requests I have made to receive a full refund for the chemical over processing of my hair by their employee Lorena and as a result, the damage repair I now need. Instead, the owner thinks less than half a refund is acceptable and continues to employ Lorena as if she is not responsible for the damage done to my hair. It's truly baffling and disheartening considering I was a loyal patron of this salon for 3 years. Buyer beware that your loyalty means nothing to the salon as long as they can avoid liability for their wrongdoing. read more

I've been coming here for YEARS. Never disappointed. Service, staff, ambiance is top notch. Roy is the absolute best.

My friend got her balayage by Paige at J. Joseph Salon, and after seeing her photos, I *HAD* to go in and get my hair done as well! I had not had a hair cut or colored my hair since January of 2020, since quarantine went into effect. Paige's appointments fill up quick, so keep an eye out on her Instagram or the salon's IG for openings. Once you book a time, you'll go in for a consultation to make sure the hair style and service is achievable with your hair and to put a $50 deposit down for your appointment. When my appointment came, a team member takes your temperature outside of the salon. You're not allowed to bring anyone with you to your appointment and everyone must wear a mask at all times. If you have a longer appointment, bring snacks and a drink. Paige and her assistant were both very hospitable and efficient workers. I felt like my hair was in good hands the entire process. I enjoy people watching while my hair processed. No one at J. Joseph Salon is idle during their shift. The desk administrators were cleaning: sweeping the floor or dusting the product displays. Obviously the stylists were attending to their respective clients, but if one stylist needed help, whoever was free would jump in to assist. You can see the teamwork in this salon, versus other hair places where stylists just rent the chair space. Balayage is a multi-step process, but the results were SO worth it! I love love LOVE my hair and got so many compliments on it. The color lasted 10 weeks before I went back to Paige for a touch up. I HIGHLY recommend J. Joseph Salon for your big hair styles! They will color your hair without damaging it and give you results you'll love. I highly recommend my stylist Paige, although it doesn't seem like you'd go wrong with the other stylists available. A family friend took me here awhile ago and as someone with wavy/curly hair I don't recommend coming here or if you do at least try to get an experienced stylist. My daughter recommended this salon to me. She had a Cut and Balayge and it looked great, so I made an appointment. Everytime I get my haircut it's a nightmare. My cut is simple yet unforgiving if you make a mistake. So, I normally cut my own hair and only go to a salon 1 time a year. I have to say I am extremely pleased with my hair. I was so disappointed with my service that I sent an email to the owner and never received a reply. That is why I now decided to post a review of my visit. I went for a haircut and provided a picture of my desired style. It was my first visit so I was a little hesitant, but we started off with a great shampoo and massage. The stylist took an hour just to trim the back of my hair. She did not texturize my hair nor touch my bangs nor make it anything like the style I requested, even though she assured me she could create the style. She ran out of time before her next client arrived and asked another associate to style my hair. Unfortunately, that person used an iron at 390° and burnt my silver hair. In fact, I had to go to another salon two weeks later to get it corrected. Will not return and do not recommend this salon. read more

I went to cover my grays (I only have a few but they were bothering me) my hair is naturally brown and o wanted a rich brown- chocolate color. Nothing fancy- just single color brown/chocolate. My hair turned out bright black- like neon black if that's even possible to say. When they called the following Monday to check on the service I told the lady I was very happy with the way the stylist treated me but the color was absolutely off and I wanted to fix it. She put me on a brief hold and told me that unfortunately there's nothing they ca do because it's a permanent color but in about 6 weeks should fade and that's she'll put on a note in the system for me. So I need to walk around w extremely black hair (which looks amazing on some people but on me looks terrible since makes me look so pale and ultimately it's not what I asked and paid for) for another 5.5 weeks. I feel like there was not solution offered, nothing to try to lighten it up or clarify it, nothing. Since moving (again lol) I needed to find a hair place closer to me . I have been to a J. Joseph salon before and had a wonderful experience so here I was again . I'm very picky with my color and Jocelyn did a fantastic job on getting it right and listening to me. My cut is also fantastic.. as I change my mind so much she does great at keeping up with me . Jocelyn Has a great energy to , you can tell she absolutely loves what she does and to me that's so important. I would highly recommend her and the salon. My color also held amazing! I went for a consultation and wonderful Sujeis helped me. I loved how she listened to what I had in mind and gave me new ideas. After that I was ready to schedule my appointment with her. The appointment on 10/26 went great. She went over the process of how to apply the Olaplex treatment. I never had a hair stylist explained to me how to take care of my hair before. I had my first hair color and cut with Meera and I couldn't be happier. She turned my haircut from hell (from a different salon) into a look I now love and can style in minutes. As a "seasoned" woman of a certain age, I am picky about stylists and the way I like my hair done. I am that person that goes home and redoes the style...but not today. Even as busy as she was, I was brought to the chair right on time. Paige and I discussed what I was looking for and she gave me some great input on color. My main concerns, I didn't want stripes. The service provided to my 17 year old was horrible. She asked to go blonde and they weren't able to do so. They did highlights on her that turned pinkish/copery and her haircut was so bad! They left one side 2 inches shorter than the right side. I had to fix it myself when she got home. I payed over $200 for something that was less than ideal. If money is not an option, why weren't they able to give her what she wanted? She even showed pictures to the hairstylists. My daughter called a few days after to talk to a manager that took 2 days and 2 calls following up to respond and they didn't even want to see pictures of her hair. They said to come back to get it fixed but why would you do that if they don't have the necessary skills to make it right the first time? This is the first salon I have ever been to , for anything other than just a hair cut. I have been looking , for what feels to have been forever, for someone that made me feel cared for and comfortable in trusting my hair in their hands. I had search for so long and I truly thought I'd never find someone to transform my hair in the best and healthiest way possible, while also making my hair look absolutely BOMB. Daniella G did an amazing job on my hair! I've never colored my hair before, but I decided to try something different and I'm glad I did. Daniella listened to what I wanted and helped me figure out a look that was perfect for me. She also explained everything she was doing while she did it which made me feel reassured and cared for. I also loved the hair-washing stations at the salon because you lay back completely horizontal, rather than just leaning your head back so it was way more comfortable on my neck. I made an appointment for me and my boyfriends 6 year old daughter for Sunday at 2.30pm to get haircuts. At 11.30am Sunday morning , I got a call saying one of the girls had called out and only one of us can be seen at 2.30. Another available appointment could be made at 4.30pm - this did not suit a I dont want to sit in a salon from 2.30 for an hour then come back at 4.30 for another appointment. I made them at the same time for a reason! We got there and sere left sitting in the waiting area for 20 minutes before being taken. The reception girl checked us in and then disappeared. After sitting for 15 minutes in lobby she reappeared and I asked how much longer we would have to wait. 5 more minutes we were told. She was right! We were finally called for our 2.30pm appointment at 2.50pm. We did get $5 off for the appointment mess up. she got a cute blow out with curled ends. My wife went in for blonde highlights & layers. She has never got her her hair dyed in a hair salon before so she didn't know any better. They did a strain of hair & said they couldn't lighten her hair. After that they told her they were gonna dye her hair all the same color & somehow she ended up leaving with the same hair color she went in with after spending hours there & paying over $200. When I called the place to talk about it, they said they will fix it for free & I just needed to let them know when she's available. When I called them to set an appointment, they said that it had been over a week & we could not get the correction for free & to which they offered a 50% discount on the correction. That did not sit well with me, as if they didn't mess up her hair the first time, it would not need to be corrected. They're horrible at communicating, I called them almost everyday for a week & never got a response as they said a manager would reach out shortly. So glad I drove the almost hour it took me to get there! Definitely worth it. My back story; I suffered a stroke October 11, 2019. I had no use of left arm and leg. Slowly got my arm back now but it's a bit difficult to round brush and blow dry my hair (for now). My appointment was with Roy. I explained this to him. I showed him a few pics from when I was the old me. Showed him one pic of a haircut I loved and then asked him what he thought was best. He said "oh you need layers and volume" little did he know I secretly wanted layers and I love big hair, but hadn't found anybody to get either of them correct. He then sent me off to get washed; great massage given by his assistant BTW! Then he went to work. He didn't chop a lot off as I said this was the first time in 30 years I've ever been able to put my hair in a ponytail, that was because I had gone almost a whole year without a haircut. After the cut he blow dried my hair and when he spun me around to see it I was in awe! It was better than I expected. He explained that I could even let it air dry and it would look good or he suggested that I could blow dry it upside down and it would still look amazing. It's disappointing to have to leave this type of review with a salon I was loyal to for close to 10 years. Once this location opened I noticed a drastic decline in the overall experience, quality of service and scheduling. My color appointments frequently went missing, and mistakes with my color and cut began happening more frequently. I felt rushed, and often handed off to other stylists and interns due to other clients being there at the same time. I stayed based on the fact that she offered to schedule appointments for corrections and took ownership of the errors. However, my color appointments continued to go missing and above problems continued to occur. At this point I knew it was time to look elsewhere but I thought I would reach out one last time before leaving considering the years I had invested with this stylist. Huge mistake! I was informed that the real procedure was to speak to the manager. He called a week later to tell me not to return, as negative feedback confused them and was something they didn't want to hear! He shared that the corrections made in the past were "off the record" favors and shouldn't have ever been scheduled. He said that scheduling errors with the color never happened and blamed me for any errors made.‍. He went on and on talking to me about their confusion and when I had a chance to speak I told him no worries, I'd find another place and I would be sure to leave a review. Update: The owners response just confirms all that was written above. Apparently they are still confused on how my appointments went missing! I'll let them figure that out while I enjoy the new color and style I got today at a salon who knew what they were doing and how to treat clients! read more

Although she's a new talent I was impressed by her knowledge and willingness to listen to the challenges I have with grey, thinning hair with lots of cowlicks in different places. Critical: Quality, Value I set an appointment for root touch up, a couple of face framing highlights & a long layer haircut. When I went in the young lady that did my hair ask me for a picture of what i wanted. After quickly viewing she then told me it was totally realistic. She started the process. After the highlight bleaching she told me that my hair didn't lighten enough so it would have to be a more light/honey brown color instead of dark blonde. I was totally okay with that. 3.5 hrs later, i walked out of the salon with light roots and highlights so dark you could tell it was done. If it weren't for the caramel roots you would know i got my hair dyed. I express then her that i was unhappy and would probably want to just dye it back to dark the color i had because my fear was after the toner fades ill have blondish roots. she asked not to go home and dye it with a box color & set me up for another appointment to fix it. Her manager only allowed her to discount the ticket $50 & I had to pay $120 for a service i was unhappy with. When i got home i realized my long layer hair cut was asymmetrical. There are random long pieces & the ends look chopped up. After waiting so long for my hair to grow, now i must cut it off so i can fix it. I am so upset & am afraid to let anyone touch it.
