Although David wasn't there at the time, Joel was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about the different methods that the different pieces of art in the gallery are made with. They have lots of unique things, such as pictures that are printed with multiple layers of ink. If you were looking for artwork for your home or office, they have a lot of calming images for all interests in nature. My favorite was this large acrylic three part piece of a pier in Florida.

From the instant you walk into their gallery, you feel at home and yet you're surrounded by such beauty, it takes your breath away. The art Tom has so skillfully curated is from gifted artists from all over the world, many of which have Tom to thank for their international notoriety. Whatever your artistic taste I'm sure Tom has something in his gallery which would be perfect on your wall -- whether it's whimsical, impressionistic, hyper-realistic, beautiful sculptures of playful foxes or intricate leather models of Japanese Emperors which take so long to build that they wear the artist fingers to the bone. (And he can dazzle you for hours about the story behind each artist!) You must take a peek and his gallery: it'll bring a smile to your face and awe to your soul. On a more personal note, I know for a fact that Tom and Carolyn's hearts are pure gold. Only someone with the purest heart would listen (and say yes!) to a girl who walks into their gallery and proposes a preposterous request: please hold a fundraising reception during Sundance weekend, oh, and it's just days away. (The next door neighbor charged $5,000 for a two hour nonprofit reception for the exact same time, and yet Thomas donated his space out of the goodness of his heart. Thank you, thank you, Tom for your open heart and welcoming spirit, thank you for your hospitality and kindness. If you're in Park City please pay him a visit, you won't regret it. The thing that sets Pine apart is the artwork. You'll find dynamic, blue-tinged cat and dog paintings as well as well as more naturally colored wildlife prints. You'll find Shelle Lindholm's colorful bear and moose paintings. You'll find Utah artist Darren Gygi's "Home Collection". And you'll find wood signs painted with retro Park City ski ads. So much art to check out and experience, bulging at the seams with a wide-ranging assortment of works-- once inside it feels like a TARDIS. Seems to be invitations to at least one fun gallery event posted on its Facebook page every month. e.g. The holiday party this year was a blow-out affair that included a photo-shoot visit from Santa. Suspect this is where he shops to find that perfect gift for his secret santa. Unlike the dark side of the Park City Main street art scene, this gallery is refreshingly non-pretentious and openly celebrates newcomer artists. So take a trip out to the north side of Kamas and check it out for yourself! Perhaps you will pick up a future Picasso. Everything about this place is full of heart & soul, exuding an indescribable fuzzy warmth as though the gallery itself is a sentient being. Perhaps part of this comfortably numb emoticity came from the music-- an antique turntable tucked away in a random crook played vinyl records over the sound system. I am convinced that the real motivation for Matt Damon to have scienced his way off Mars was so he could enjoy arting his afternoon away at ARTique. Just wait for the sequel. That slippery sly Kairos rolled in on a propitious coincident named serendipity causing my discovery of a stunning (yet inexpensive!) bracelet amidst a cornucopia of jewelries spilling out from a wooden display box onto one of the countless small tables. The artist happened to be in da house at the moment and offered to create another bracelet on the spot. Apparently this sort of thing happens not infrequently because many of the artists personally contribute their time to the ARTique cause. Everyone working there was very knowledgeable, friendly, engaged, and helpful. It was a nifty trick that staff wore jewelry that was also for sale-- what a clever means of presentation. Enjoyed chatting about art with the dedicated owner (who is also a professional artist with a degree in ceramics). She explained that the previous incarnation was called the Starving Artist Exchange. With the prices so reasonable how can the artists be anything else? A terrific place to hang out if you are looking for inspiration in decorating your home or gift ideas for the special someone. Also a casual date here would be a perfect low-key way to get to know someone better. Tourists will also enjoy the chance to grab a slice of local art pie to bring home and leave out on the window sill for the Muses to envy. A... astonishing artwork! As large as this one is (8' x 4'), I assumed it would be several thousand dollars since the gallery next door prices theirs that way. But with a regular sticker price of only $5k and then 50% off with a sale, it was a very easy decision. In addition to the sale price, shipping is free and there was no tax since I live out of state. Sold. While they are hung frameless, you can pay a little extra and get them with a silver or bronze metal plating behind the image. I think it gives them more polish, so I went that route. There was a stunning Moab image with a bronze metal plate behind it. That is my next purchase. Four to six weeks for delivery and it's delivered in a large crate. I can't wait to get this hung in my family room.

I bought some pictures here a while ago and they have a wonderful ability to stay fresh looking even after many years. Mangelsen's photos are a great way to add timeless color to any room. They are expensive though, expect to spend a few thousand dollars for some of the larger ones. Smaller pictures are more reasonably priced.
