Double bacon cheese burger and a side of fries. Total cost 7.87

Looking for a old fashion, hot, greasy and juicy burger? Then JD's is the place to go in McPherson. I've been in mcpherson for a combined 3 years and just gave this burger stand a try and I'm happy I did. It's a friendly mom and pop, with the best fresh burgers in town. Setting: 4/5 The kwik burger establishment is located on Kansas avenue about two blocks east or highway 81. It's a small, order and go place. There are no tables so your food is to go. You order at the counter and pay when your order is done. It's clean and pleasant to the eye. Costumer service: 5/5 The staff is pretty friendly and welcoming to questions. The cook is open to make what you want and to your liking. They wear regular clothes and are pretty relaxed. Seems to be family ran. Very clean food preparation. Food: 5/5 The menu consists of many different burger options along with dinner plates of fish and shrimp. That's nice but I came here for a burger! So I ordered a double bacon cheese burger. Alone it was 5 dollars. Drinks and fries are separate. So I also ordered a small fry. Total was 7.87. The burger was delicious!!! You can tell the meat is fresh and not frozen and cooked to perfection. The fries were crispy and hot. I will be back for more. Next time I'm trying the corn nuggets.

Stopped by a few times while passing through. Great burgers. As said, not a dine in place (though they do have one table).

Under NEW Management!…read more I got the hatch queso and wings. The queso was definitely Tostitos and almost cold. However, oh the chips were pretty good and homemade. I got the wings and for 16 dollars I expected way more than 8 wings. Plus didn't have much sauce. 2 dollars a wing is crazy. I will say the beer is worth it! Great atmosphere and great service!

Wish you would have told me that when you called. The waitress was lovely, shrugged her off and said, "follow me". She seated us and was pleasant through the entire experience. We just ordered two burgers, a few fried appetizers and two bowls of pasta. As the apps were delivered, owner comes back out and says "it's going to be 30 minutes" for those two bowls of pasta. She also added, we have been dead since noon (why do we need to know that?!?!) Well, 1) as the place was still completely empty, please remind me why you couldn't have started the pasta before the apps? 2) cooking pasta only takes 8 minutes - NOT 30. 3) she obviously wasn't happy we were there. 4) half of the apps we ordered weren't available. 5) spinach and artichoke dip is just FLAT OUT disgusting and was served cold. Summary: GREAT waitress. She smiled through it all. If the owner doesn't want to take a party of 9 on a day when she's had zero customers? This place won't be open in 6 months. WORST FOOD EVER. Will never be back. Ambiance? Cold - as we knew the owner didn't want us there.

Upon entering Hardee's I noticed how empty it was and how clean. There were numbers placed on the tables, along the waiting rails clear up to the cash register. The numbers were posted to show customers where to stand before ordering to insure everyone was 6' apart. My husband ordered the meal combo #9 consisting of a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a medium sweet tea. I chose the #3 combo which includes a western bacon cheeseburger, fries and a medium drink also. The cashier was so nice and quick to get our order to us, doing it all with a smile. Back to the truck after such a long walk, it was finally time to eat. I took the food out of the bag while my husband put away the purchases from Love's. By this time the fries were cold and the burgers were warm. I can't hold it against Hardee's, being so far from the truck parking area or for being so cold and windy outside. We both ate the food, the fries were just too cold to eat so we didn't bother finishing them, the burgers were delicious and filling and the sweet tea left a little bad after taste. It is so much better to be able to sit down in a restaurant and enjoy your food hot but again I can't hold that against them either with the COVID-19 pandemic. So I'm giving them 4 stars for their friendliness, hospitality and for being so clean and caring of their customers. They also have a drive through available that would probably be a better option than coming in, but it's not an option for big rigs.
