Pinnellas Park is Worst and dirtiest service ever. Our car came back, not once, but twice, a filthy and greasy mess, with all our belongings toss about the car. Also, the second time it came back rat infested, and it did not go there that way and in fast never had a rat, let alone bug issue in its life. I had a pretty decent experience credit wasn't great so we didn't have a whole lot of options and the car they got me was in good condition and decent miles for the year the alternator went out about a month after buying it but the tow to the dealership was covered and all but $26 was covered and they replaced it in a timely matter the only thing I will say is not even a week after buying I needed an oil change even though they said it had just got one, then while in the shop the light came on needing an oil change and the techs did not even address it or call to ask if I wanted it addressed which I found odd now I have to make another trip out there which is an inconvenience but other than that was just grateful to be able to get into a car that was reliable and decent read more

We spent about 5 minutes on this lot yesterday morning before buying a car elsewhere. First of all, the cars are older and very rough here. This place is only a last resort if you have absolutely no other options and no credit. Even then I would not recommend it. We found two half way decent cars that were 2010 parked at the very front of the building. They were the only cars here we would even consider. The "sales" person was nice but knew nothing about the cars. We tried to ask details about them (they have NO details actually on the cars) and we were pointed to a board with prices and then left alone. The board had the price, but not the mileage. We asked about miles and we were told we had to talk to someone special. She came out and said we had to fill out an application first to learn about the mileage. What? Then we told them we had a pre-approved loan with a decent amount down. We were told that they DO NOT ACCEPT CASH. What?? Apparently, they make so much money off of people on their interest that they are not even willing to take cash for a car on their lot. Crazy. On 3/4/17, I purchased a 2005 Honda Civic from JD Byrider in Pinellas Park, FL. This car has had constant problems from the beginning. It was sold to me with the check engine light on and has had several "fixes" since then: 1. Initial problem was in the fuel system - something that needed replacing in the tank if I'm not mistaken. 2. The brake light was stuck on all night resulting in a dead battery in the morning. 3. Overheating while driving. 4. I asked THREE times to have the brakes checked because I noticed a pulsation/jerking upon breaking. Once after the test drive - I was told the pads were just replaced and to allow time for them to be broken in. Then I asked again and was told that it was due to the brakes getting hot and then getting wet in rainy weather. Finally, while driving in rain, I had someone make a hard and fast brake in front of me at a traffic light which caused me to brake suddenly. The brakes would not catch and I lightly tapped their bumper. Thankfully, there was no damage, but thinking about what could have happened was definitely a scary thought. I had an existing appointment for service, so I emailed and asked again to have the brakes checked and conveyed what happened. I was told that it was just because it was raining. I replied with a question about the functionality of warped rotors and the possibility that they would not grip properly, and finally the brakes were fixed. 5. Car would not start in a parking lot after it had driven fine to the store - bad fuel pump. Since then, the gas gauge sticks and the gas light is on for at least 15 minutes before it registers. 6. The rear defrost has NEVER worked. I asked about this a couple of times but was told it had power so couldn't be fixed unless the back window was replaced. This is extremely dangerous with the morning humidity / moisture in Florida, which causes almost daily fogging of the windows. Even if I dry the window with a towel, which I do almost every morning, it fogs up by the time I am at the end of my street 7. The THIRD fuel pump in a seven month period has just been installed.... I missed time from work for nearly every repair. Twice I needed to scramble to find a ride to work. On these occasions, I had to cut my hours to match a part time employee because she is the only one that lives in the same area as I do. I rarely call out or go in late. To do so because of a recently purchased vehicle is absurd. I asked for a "CARFAX" report. I was instead provided with a vehicle history report from another company which showed nothing significant. I looked up the "CARFAX" myself, which showed 39 reports I have had a mechanic look at the car, who pointed out several red flags that this car has been in a major accident - the trunk lid is higher and not flush with the body of the car; there is a variance in the paint on the front of the car; the weld on the doors does not line up; the driver's door is not tight to the frame of the car, which resulted in leaking during every rain and warping of the inside trim. When it leaks, the seatbelt is saturated and the window drips inside the car until the rain stops. I am paying $406month in car payments. I had been told by several people that I was paying an outrageous amount for a 2005 Honda Civic. This prompted me to check the price from the Kelley Blue Book site. The range for a DEALER sale price is $3,737 to $5,094 with a fair purchase price of $4,416. Based on the problems I've experienced in the 1st 6-7 months of ownership would lead me to believe that it should have been sold at the low end of the range. JD Byrider charged me a CASH price of $12,527.95. 3 times the fair purchase price. In payments, I will have paid $20,750.60!!!I believe that I have been taken advantage of. This is the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I have reported this to the BBB, as have many other dissatisfied customers. Check it out.... read more

I bought a vehicle from JD Byrider in Pinellas Park on October 10th, 2018. I had my 2 kids with me and I know that buying a vehicle is a process, however, I was literally there for almost 6 hours. Not even 48 hours later and before I had even put 20 miles on the car it completely broke down on me. Thankfully I was just a block or two away from JD Byrider and was BARELY able to get the car there. The Service Manager met me outside to see what was going on and after telling her the situation she seemed concerned and told me the car would be fixed by the end of the day. I went to pick up the car only to get in and see the check engine light on. I giggled because what mechanic says the car is fixed without test driving it first? I attempted to drive it and it was still completely broke after being in their care ALL DAY. I walked right in and spoke with Angela (sales manager) and she said they would fix it the next day and she called an Uber to take my kids and I home. The next day the car still wasn't fixed, the day after that it still wasn't fixed. The Service Department kept coming up with more and more things that needed to be done to it. I eventually got mad enough that I spoke with their Regional Manager, Sean, who told me that he test drove my car for 30 whole minutes and he didn't feel anything was wrong with it.... but I still wasn't able to pick the car up because the check engine light was STILL ON. This went on every single day for a week and a half before they FINALLY sent it out to a transmission specialist (yes, it went to a transmission specialist a few days after the Regional Manager told me there was nothing wrong with the car other then "a little jerking"). Angela (sales manager) told me the car went to AAMCO. Did not tell me which one. I called a couple local ones and finally found the one my car was at. Basically, JD Byrider sold me a car with a completely messed up transmission and AAMCO was going to have to put a whole new transmission in it. This took them 4 days... putting us at November 5th (17 days from the day I brought it back to JD Byrider). I went to pick the car up and was told it wasn't ready because he noticed whoever did the wiring in the car duct taped the whole thing and he didn't feel comfortable with me leaving the property with it like that. He told me the next day he would fix the wiring, putting us at day 18. At the end of day 18, the transmission specialist found yet something else that needed to be replaced and told me it would be ready the next day, putting us at day 19. I called JD Byrider every single day telling them what was going on and not ONCE did I ever even get an apology. They have not offered me ANYTHING for the inconvenience (going 19 days without a vehicle and having to have someone drive me around). One of the days I was upset during one of my phone calls (understandably upset) and one of their Sales people by the name of Melanie told me and I quote that I "needed to act like a normal person". I told Angela (Sales Manager) that I wanted to speak to the highest person I could and not the guy that told me the car was fine and Angela said and I quote "Well that's not going to happen". I LITERALLY bought a car... less then 48 hours later it broke down. I then had to go 19 days with no car. JD Byrider never offered anything. They did not offer a lender vehicle, they did not offer any kind of refund on my deposit to help me out with having to get rides (or hell, even for just the inconvenience), they did not offer letting me speak to someone higher that may have actually cared, they did not offer proper customer service or EVEN AN APOLOGY... nothing. The car seems okay now, but that is no thanks to JD Byrider... only to AAMCO in Clearwater. Beware of this place... they will sell you an EXTREMELY messed up car and not give a literal crap. read more

Tv, a comfortable couch and cold water really made it as good an experience as it could've been. Highly Recommend! This is the worse place to get a car. They are rude and nasty. I got a car and the dash board didn't work. I couldn't see milage, what gear I was in ect. They say they give you a warranty but if course that wasn't covered and even tho I just for the car they Wouldn't fix it unless I payed $275. The car also had a problem with the ignition(it was misfiring) which they tried to fix 3 times. I switched jobs and my pay day changed they refused to adjust my payment day. I was short by $40 they took the partial payment then 2 days later they repoed my car saying I didn't pay. I had to pay the $40 plus a $300 repo fee. This Company is just horrible. read more

Let me start by saying I have not had to deal with the sales department, but do not ever take your vehicle to the service department if you can avoid it. I brought my car originally for a blown engine. Engine got replaced under warranty no problem. Within a matter of a day or two the check engine light came back on. Multiple parts within the engine had failed. They attempted again to fix it. I get the car back and don't even make it out of the parking lot before yet another check engine light is thrown. The part in this case is not covered by warranty. I asked what codes were present when I brought it back and they were incapable of providing them. Candy the service manager stated that a service technician should have written them down, but didn't. However IF the code was present at the time the technician SHOULD have fixed it. Now I'm not saying the tech missed it on purpose. accidents happen and there were obviously multiple codes when I came back. At this point it appears that they did not try to verify they actually completed the repairs because all I had to do was roll through the parking lot to get a light and the service manager Candy is clearly willing to work on guesses and not facts. Didn't ask for free labor or parts. I simply asked for them to work with me since they had the engine torn down to that point and it looks like it was missed, which they refused. The service manager throughout the whole process was constantly trying to blame her employee, the tech, and others for delays and the reason she didn't take care of things. Clearly this service department could care less about doing the right thing. They would rather wash their hands of a situation and say screw the customer. read more
