My kid has been learning piano from Mrs Meg for 3 years. Mrs…read moreMeg is very patient and kind to the kid. I still remember when we first started, my kid can't even speak a full sentence, and his fingers were so weak. Mrs Meg bears with the difficulties and treated my kid with love just as if he was her grandson. What I like the most about learning piano here is that my kid does not just learn the skills to play piano, but also grows in the appreciation of music in general.

My 15 year old son has been a student at Crystal Creek Music Studio for eight years. Like other…read morechildren, it was easy to get him to attend lessons in the beginning. The reason he continues to take piano, with all the other distractions a young man has with sports and such, is his instructor Meg Mann. Her method of teaching is calming, never antagonistic. Not only has my son excelled in piano, she is an adult in his life that he respects. I don't have to cajole him into practicing at home (I sometimes have to remind him of course), he just goes right to it. I know it's because he enjoys seeing progress with his playing, and enjoys his lessons. Meg's studio in her home is welcoming, with beautiful large picture windows looking out at the mountains. It's peaceful. Meg is a certified teacher in the "Well Prepared Pianist Institute". http://www.wppinstitute.com/index.php?ID=2491&XID=2491:0:0:0:0&PID=0 As a parent I recommend Crystal Creek Music Studio if your goals are to see substantive progress and to avoid nagging to practice.

As my youngest child heads off to college to major in 3D art and minor in music, this feels like a…read moregood time to credit Puget Sounds for transforming his creative confidence. Starting in third grade, his first teacher was owner Shannon. Instead of assigning the usual lockstep practice-book routines that my oldest slogged through with an in-home teacher, Shannon analyzed my youngest's interests and customized lessons accordingly. Soon, she moved him to a different teacher, Charlie, because she could see an interest in jazz developing. He was incredible with my youngest for years, and then when he had to go on leave, Shannon found a series of jazz-focused teachers outside her studio who continued to help my youngest embrace improv and composition. I believe that PSPS's individualized approach lit such a joyful creative spark that he had the confidence to "improv" digital art during the pandemic. He now spends all of his free time composing digital art & digital music; and without a doubt, one or both will become his career. Thank you, Shannon and PSPS!

She is now a year old, and incredibly interested in instruments of all kinds, but mostly percussion :). We knew we wanted music to be a big part of our daughters' life, and getting her started as an infant has been exactly what we had hoped - it's fostered such a natural interest for her! There have also been a few articles coming out recently (the most recent in the New York Times) about how early music education helps with brain development, language development, and organization/memory.
