What an amazing festive hotel! We stayed here the weekend the Christkindlesmarkt opened. (FYI:…read morePrices practically triple at this time so beware and plan accordingly.) The Noris Hotel provides superior customer service. If you need anything (Example: Soap, Iron, Ironing Board, Towels) they are quick and prompt to deliver them personally to your room. The room is spotless and very modern looking. Our room had a loft feel. Living area and bathroom below equipped with a mini bar and fridge. The upstairs was a very open plan with a comfortable sleeping area and tv. There was also a balcony that we did not use, but was beautiful to see the snow outside. We did not eat in the restaurant within the hotel, but we did enjoy a pretty good breakfast there our final morning. The bar offers a variety of beverages at night that we enjoyed one evening back after dinner. Staff shower great customer service. We felt so at home at this hotel and the Christmas spirit was really brought to life with their beautiful decor. The hotel is a good 15 minute walk from the city center. It is not bad and as long as you have a warm coat, it is very doable. A taxi ride ranges from 8-15 euros to the center. The only negative thing I can mention is their wifi. Their costs get very expensive for unlimited access daily. Apparently the codes bought can only be used one per device which gets very pricey when you have multiple cellular devices and a laptop. I was disappointed on that aspect, but everything else was a winter land dream getaway. I have also filmed some videos on my travel vlog including many clips from the hotel and around Nuremberg. :) Hopefully this helps you better plan your holidays. The patio overlooks the Tiergaertner Tor Platz and it was crowded like a beehive tonight. The huge plaza tree was lit up and thousands of folks enjoying their night on the patios of the surrounding restaurants, on the plaza benches, or even seated on the ground. Great ambiance all together. The staff was very attentive and we didn't seem to have an assigned server as any of them passing by checked to see if we needed anything. The menu here changes often, but also has a few staples and some innovative takes on our Franconian dishes. So we discovered Pretzel pizza... I was suspicious at first, reading the list of ingredients, but threw caution in the wind and went for the Franconian version (my friend opted for the Vegetarian). It really did sound horrible... laugen dough (which is what pretzels are made of), Schmarrn (related to sourcream, or cream cheese, but not quite the same), local brats, kraut, cheese and tomatoes. I was prepared for a nightmare... but it ended up being delicious. The pizzas were served with a mini salad topping the middle of it. The dough was nice and thin and had that typical nice chewy crust all around. The ingredients worked surprisingly well together, but could have done without the tomatoes. Visually they were a nice pop of colors, but tastewise they had no business on the Franconian Pretzel pizza. I didn't try the vegetarian version, but my friend, who is a tiny person, ate the entire thing, whereas I could only finish half of mine. So I would say she enjoyed it. I had the pana cotta with blueberry compote and was delighted to see the compote made from the small blueberries I grew up with instead of these huge overbred tasteless blueberries so common nowadays. Kudos to this place. Check it out if you are ever in the area.
