I have had repairs and alterations done here before. Never had an issue. At times the work looked rushed but was always completed when promised no matter the complexity. However this time, all I needed was some patches sewn on a custom leather vest. I went to pick it up on the day it was promised to find several patches sewn on incorrectly, in the wrong places, even after I showed them pictures of the correct placement, having taped the patches in the correct locations AND after he pinned them in the correct place before I left the shop. NOW, I have holes in my custom leather vest where the patch had to be moved. It took an additional two days to get the work completed. Thankfully I didn't need the vest until a few days after. I won't say the best is ruined, but the the patches shouldn't have had to be moved after the great lengths I went to show their placement. I will not refer or use this shop again for any sort of work; tailoring, repairs or otherwise. Honesty is always key. If you know the job will be difficult or it's too complicated to do with your existing equipment, say so, and I'll thank you for your honesty and go some place else. Now I have a 600 plus dollar custom vest with holes that shouldn't have been there. read more

I took in an wedding outfit to have sleeves added to blouse and pants hemmed. Pants were hemmed satisfactorily. I was told outfit would be down 2 weeks after taking in items. Two weeks later, when in to check, nothing had been done. Another 2 weeks, received a call to come in for a fitting, sleeves had been done that day. (this is now 1 month after items dropped off). After another week, I picked up my items and found someone else to finish in 24 hours. I do not recommend any custom tailoring from this business, especially for women's clothes. Total numbers waiting on Izzy's Tailor Shop, 32 days, promised time: 14 days. :( read more

I had a day notice for a formal event and I needed to get my suit dry cleaned the same day. I went to a couple other places and they weren't helpful at all. I ended up calling Izzy's Tailor Shop and the gentlemen who answered (who I believe is the owner) said he could do it for me no problem. They closed at 4 pm and stayed extra late until 8:30 pm when I received the call that it was all finished. Each and every time I've taken clothes here, they have given a date they would be ready.. Each time I've gone to pick them up, they are never finished. Last time I went to drop off my husbands pants, another gentlemen came to pick up his clothes and he too had the same problem!! So, I was told my husbands clothes would be ready Monday. This time I called and he said they weren't done and that I could pick them up at6. I told him I would get them on Tuesday. Tuesday I went to get them and they still weren't finished!! This shop is run by two guys who are very friendly and kind. I took my wedding dress in to be hemmed at the bottom. After it was finished I thought it was too short. I was upset because I didn't think anything could be done to fix it but the tailor said he could bring back the length. (The tailor used to work at David's Bridal so he has experience with wedding dresses) When I came back to pick up the dress the length was fixed and it was just right. You couldn't even tell anything had been done and they didn't charge me extra for redoing the length. Very pleased with their service. If I ever need something tailored again I will go back here. read more

I had a very positive experience with this business. I found Izzy to be pleasant to work with, he completed the work in a timely manner with it being ready to pick up by the time he said it would be done, and I feel the pricing was reasonable for the work performed. I had him replace the zipper on a hoodie & mend some dress pants that had a waistband coming unstitched. Brought in 2 brand new (just took tags off) shirts to have patches sewn on, thought they had starch from ironing turned out to be glue. They refused to admit they did it, yelled at me then offered to fix if I bought a new shirt...I honestly felt very uncomfortable( almost threatened) going back so I didn't , took the patch off myself bought new shirt had someone else redo for a third of the cost, over priced, rude and threatening. So I am what some would call a denim head, in that I own and enjoy Selvedge denim jeans mostly from Japan and these jeans are worn for long periods of time so occasionally the crotch will blow out or pockets need to be repaired. So naturally I looked for a Tailor shop and found this one. Initially I had hope since the lady at the counter said she was aware of selvedge denim and had repaired crotch blowouts before. My jeans had a hole in the crotch and I asked for the front pocket to be repaired. I was promised a 2 day wait for the work. 3 days later I came in and they were not ready. I called 5 days later and she told me to come in the next day. Finally after a week they were ready. At first they looked ok since the hole was closed but instead of darning the hole they cinched it together and sewed it with a thin piece of cloth in between. The hole re-opened in 2 days. Terrible work. I do not recommend this shop for repairing jeans at all. I didnt even go in to get a refund or more work and quite honestly with no experience as a "tailor" I did a better job using my mother sewing machine. read more
