Mint tea
Julian M.

What a nice little hidden spot. The place has a nice lighting ambiance and a very calm feel to it. Everything was clean too. Servers were great, very attentive and came to check on us a couple of times. I found the food to be delicious. It was a lot but we ended up eating all of it basically. In the end, they gave us complimentary mint tea which was a great way to finish everything off.

Absolutely delicious food for absolutely amazing prices. Izgara is that hidden gem in the rough of the south Florida restaurant scene. A very unassuming restaurant in a small shopping plaza where the falafels are fresh and delicate and the hummus is world class. The service was a little understaffed so there were a lot of tables but not enough people to keep track of everything. But the kitchen was still able to bring out the food within 20 minutes of sitting down. The only part of the food that could have been better were the fries that were a bit soggy and the pita that was store bought but besides that everything else was phenomenal.

The food is beyond good. Fabulous fantastic and filled with flavor. I have never been disappointed in this place. The complementary hot drink after the best hummus ever made is the cherry on top. Best of the best.

I might have just picked the worst item on the menu. Everyone in my party seemed to enjoy their lunches. I got a chicken (dark meat) stir fried with onion and bell pepper. Too much onion, not enough chicken. The sweet potato fries were both overcooked and soggy. I enjoyed the hummus, but too much of it, the portions were just off.

I really felt transported to the Mediterranean when I stepped inside this restaurant. The ambiance was calm and wonderful. There were authentic decorative artwork on the walls. Their dishware was also beautiful. The menu has something for meat eaters and non meat eaters. The staff was very friendly especially the woman behind the counter. My daughter and I dined here for our weekly lunch outing. This was a first time for both of us coming here. We had a great meal and would definitely come back. We chose to share two sampler plates. The Hummus Mix which was 4 bowls with 3 Falafels, Israeli Salad, Hummus, and Baba Ganoush. We also shares the Pita Sandwich trio which included 3 half pita filled with Chicken, Falafel, and Beef Kabob. The beef kabob pita was our favorite and we loved the babaganoush. Overall everything was so tasty and it was a very nice meal. I will definitely return again.

Chicken Cesar to start

Superb, had a chicken Cesar to start then the lamb kabobs entree, babaganoush... chefs kiss Had their tea service while I waited, everything was quality, everything was cooked fresh. Handmade and delicious, I've been here before and will be back. It's dark and sexy inside, I came in for lunch but would be back for dinner or a quick bite. They also have great wine selection.

Chicken Shawarma Platter with Sweet Potato Fries

Consistently delicious, authentic, and great prices for the amount of food you get. I always get it take out and the food is always super fresh and so so good! I have even put special requests in the comments for my takeout food before and they accommodate-- which is hard to come by now a days.. love this place!

Went to Izgara for a nice father/daughter Valentine's Day lunch on Thursday. I have not dined here in a while but I am glad to say that the food is as delicious as I remember. Our server was very polite. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is that it is quiet and quaint. The food is prepared with a lot of love and the ingredients and including the spices taste fresh. I ordered the hot mint tea (sweetened) it had the perfect amount of sugar. I also had a side salad that had a fresh lemon flavored dressing, cheese and tomatoes. For my main course I had the chicken shawarma and vegetables. Another thing that is great about this restaurant is that the food makes you full without feeling overstuffed. It's a great place if you are looking to eat something light and healthy that is also flavorful for lunch or dinner.

Grilled Salmon Combo Platter

TL;DR delicious salmon, excellent portions, friendly service, easy parking We dined here on a quiet afternoon. The salmon was the best we've ever had. We got the salmon platter that came with hummus, pita bread, salad and rice or fries. The platter was huge and the food was so tasty. The fried onions are amazing. Our server was Yasmeen & she was kind and knowledgeable. She seemed maybe new as there was a guy accompanying her whenever she came to our table. But she did fine & answered our questions. The prices are great, considering the size of the portions. The ambiance is nice. Good decor. There is lots of free parking.

Falafel

Izgara is nestled in the Turtle Run shopping center and a quaint little restaurant. For only having one person working, they were super efficient even as more and more people came into the restaurant. We started with the falafel which was amazing. Tiny bits of jalapeño really elevated them. The chicken shawarma sandwich was also really good though the integrity of the pita was quickly compromised and it ended up being more of a fork meal than I expected. The chicken was still really tender and the sauces, especially their tahini, was great!

Chicken shawarma

My favorite place by farrrrrrrr. Amazing food BIG plates always fresh and delicious. Definitely one of the best places here.

What I enjoyed most about this place was the atmosphere - the decor, the music, the plates. But of course we have to talk about the food, right?! I had a falafel combination plate, which came with 6 delicious falafel, a hefty serving of creamy hummus, Israeli salad, and fries (you can choose rice, fries or sweet potato fries) as well as a whole pita. The hummus was yummy, but I found that it could have used a little more lemon and garlic. The salad was delicious too. My father had a goat kebab combination plate - which he found the lamb too spicy for his palate. To close the meal we ordered two pieces of baklava, which was not very good unfortunately. We both left full with leftovers, which I look forward to enjoying for lunch tomorrow.

Inside the style is middle eastern art and decor. They have a large menu and lunch specials are available durning weekdays. Everything that I had tasted fresh and delicious. The complimentary pickled vegetables and pita was a nice touch. For food we decided on the Shishbarak, which is an interesting combination of meat dumplings, in a creamy yogurt sauce. The Shishbarak is a very hearty dish that has a cozy warm texture. The vegetarian sampler is mix of many of the traditional favorites. However, the standouts are definitely the grape-leaves, and the babbaganou Service was good but they only had one person that was working the register, waiting tables, and bussing food. They could definitely use extra wait staff during restaurant peak hours. Make sure you leave room for dessert! The desserts are delicious especially the baklava.

The food was wonderful from start to finish, and the atmosphere made the experience even more special. There was something about the ambiance that took me right back to France, to those moments of breaking bread with my North African friends, surrounded by warmth, conversation, and the kind of hospitality that makes a place feel familiar the moment you walk in. I felt right at home. Fatima deserves special recognition. She was so kind to me and made me feel completely welcome. Her presence was gentle, warm, and sincere, and it elevated the entire experience. It honestly felt like I was being looked after at my Moroccan auntie's house. That kind of feeling cannot be faked, and it means a great deal. As for the food, it was amazing. The pastilla with chicken and almonds, dusted with sugar and cinnamon, was absolutely delicious, with that beautiful balance of savory richness and gentle sweetness that makes the dish so memorable. The msemmen was warm, comforting, and deeply satisfying. The merguez tajine was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The Moroccan harira had that soulful, nourishing quality that makes a great soup feel like part of the heart of the meal. It gave us an experience filled with warmth, flavor, generosity, and heart. The food was amazing, the hospitality was genuine, and Fatima made a lasting impression. I was also looking for a couple of specific things that I haven't been able to find since Caspian Grill closed. The store was pretty much what I expected. A few aisles of shelves stacked to the top with a variety of items. Let's face it. Middle East is a large area with many countries, each with its own unique spices and dishes, and so it is a huge undertaking to try and satisfy everyone, but for the most part, they succeeded. Given the people who were shopping there at the time, I would say that the authenticity of the store was greatly appreciated. I ended up not finding the Persian items I was looking for, but that's ok, instead I got a Turkish item. They also serve food at the store, which is nice because after walking along the aisles of food items, you start craving a Middle Eastern treat. I saw a vertically roasted meat and I knew what I wanted, but i didn't see a menu and when I was asked what I wanted, I wasn't sure if they were serving Gyro, Doner, or Shawarma, and not wanting to offend anyone, I asked for a meat wrap. It worked and I ended up with a Shawarma, which made the whole experience worthwhile.
