I knew that there were sometimes food trucks over by the Yale Whale, so I had to at least check the area out. When I pulled up, there was a lot of traffic in the area, but I managed to snag a spot along the street right next to the truck. It was kind of difficult to get in the spot because there was a line of cars behind me. Thankfully, the man working the Lalibela truck was signaling to me to make sure that I was in the parking spot correctly! When I was finally in the spot, I thanked him for helping me, and ordered a vegetarian combo. Best lunch I've had in a long time. The three scoops I ordered were the spicy lentils, the yellow lentils, and the mixed vegetables. I chose to have injera as my side. I love the food from the sit-down restaurant so I knew the food from the truck would be great. I'll definitely be coming back here for future lunches!

I usually don't like pork because I often get leathery, dry meat with many other dishes I order but the porkshops here were lightly charred on the outside with a smokey flavor infused throughout. You don't need any sauce with it. It is perfect as is! The Italian Sausage was very flavorful with the smokey flavor and seasonings in the meat. I added sauerkraut to mine to offset some of the saltiness of the meat. He doesn't cut up the sausage until you order. Then he grills it a little extra before he packs it into a bun for you. Both items come in a standard hotdog bun. At $3, these hot and fast meals are a real win. Regular hotdog is just $1. His hours are usually around 10:30am-5:30pm but vary a bit depending on when he drives over. He also sometimes takes a while to setup.

I usually use Yelp to guide me, or I find the truck with the most people or the longest line. On this particular day, there were a lot of people standing in line at this truck, so I decided to go with this one. I ordered Birria Tacos and one Al Pastor taco. The order took about fifteen minutes. The Al Pastor was delicious. The Al Pastor Taco had a nice balance of smoky, spicy, and sweet, with a savory depth. The only thing I would have added was a little more seasoning to the meat, but it was delicious. The Birria Tacos were packed with flavor and meat. The Birria Tacos were deeply savory, rich, with a crispy, cheesy interior and tender meat. The only complaint would be that they were a little burnt on the outside, and they kept the tacos on too long. The tacos were great, and I look forward to coming to try other items on the menu.
