Milo tested it, explained the cells were dry and told me my options. His upbeat attitude really helped my stressful situation. I wasn't pressed into purchasing a new battery but when I heard the price, he switched them out and I was out in about ten minutes. He said things like 'you're in luck! We have some!' Or 'even better, this one is less than I quoted you' Years ago, I brought in a battery for an electric bike. The staff recognized what it was and I wasn't even through the doors when he came to take it from me. He explained to me the expected life of the battery and how best to store it in the winter. One of their staff even added a tidbit on cell phone batteries and how to get the best life out of one. I recommend anyone to see them about any battery needs.

Three years ago I went in to buy an auger-style snowblower and Niels talked me into buying the paddle-style with the option that if I didn't like it I could return it without issue and purchase the auger-style. Well this winter I finally had a chance to use it - I greatly enjoy my paddle-style snowblower. When I bought the snowblower I was to bring it back after its first five hours of use for an oil change (included in purchase cost), when I called this month to inquire about an oil change Niels still honoured that offer THREE years later! How many companies/businesses would do that? On top of all that Niels and the staff here have been a pleasant, funny and all around awesome every time. Thank you Twila

I tried to buy contacts recently from professional optical and they refused to allow me to buy more…read moresince I was due for an eye exam. I have been getting my eyes checked regularly and they haven't changed in over a decade. So they are now withhold contacts /glasses if I don't get my routine eye check up. So now I have to walk around unable to see because I can't get more contacts and have no way of booking an apt any time soon for a check up due to financial hardships. I feel like withholding a product because you didn't get your regular eye check up is ridiculous and extremely unfair. Especially for someone who goes regularly and has not had any change. Very frustrating and seems to be a gimmick to get more money out of you. I informed the lady working reception of my concerns and she informed me that she didn't want to deal with the situation/didn't know how and basically avoided all of my concern's. Informed me she would get someone else to call me back (which did not happen) and I am now left to scramble and find another eye doctor and figure out how I am going to manage not being able to see until I can afford an apt at another eye doctors office. If you are planning on going to this eye doctor/clinic I would think again and try some where else!

I did a lot of research into diamonds and engagement ring styles to avoid getting ripped off. Several stores tried to sell me low quality items with highly inflated warranties. Fosters, down the street from Tompkins even treated me like I was worthless because I didn't want to spend $15,000 to $20,000. Tompkins genuinely cared about getting the perfect ring for my fiancee. Flo worked with me to find the perfect design and the best possible diamond to complement it. I felt very comfortable that their first priority was finding me what I wanted, not making a quick buck. They had a ring custom made and placed the diamond. My fiancee loved it. Their aftercare has been great too. Unlike some stores in town, like Fosters, they understand that they will be more successful by cultivating long lasting relationships with their customers. Several of my friends got engaged around the time that I did and I recommended Tompkins without hesitation. I was very happy to hear Tompkins treated them as well as they treated me.

That's your advertisement right there, 11 out of 10 product, people, and service. Designing the ring was a ton of fun, make sure that you're not in a rush. My wife works in healthcare so the owner had some recommendations that really made the ring come together and not interfere with her work. Little modifications so gloves don't tear when you put them on, making sure her hair never gets caught on the ring, little things like that. Every time I came to the store front I was met with smiles, you can really tell all the employees love their jobs and want nothing but the best for their customers. At the first design meeting I was up front about my budget, and the owner was very respectful and diligent when designing the ring around my budget. It was never brought up a second time. This made the process very enjoyable and stress free as I new exactly how much everything was going to cost. The owner went out of her way to order custom cut diamonds from New York that where so beautiful she bought them knowing that type of diamond doesn't come around very often. After the fact I can come into the store front when ever is most convenient for me and they will clean my wife's ring and give it a quick once over, if there is anything less than perfect they take care of it right away! If you want to spend your hard earned money on a local, multi generational family business, that provides the highest standard of service, provides the highest standard of product, who genuinely takes care of their customers, then Tomkins is a no brainer.
