I went here for the EMT class and wasted my money and time. If I was you and you want to take the course or program go somewhere else. The teachers are unhelpful. The school is absolutely no help in educating people probably because they don't want them to get a degree because they will lose getting more money from the student and the teachers there love to act and believe they are smarter than the students and again don't want to educate them but fail them instead. Don't take clinical hours in Ossian Indiana. I had two males to work with and one uses the women's bathroom and the other uses the males because they don't care if another female is there, its her problem. I made a complaint to the school and they did nothing about any of my problems. Also the police in Ossian are next door to the EMTs and when I went there they were discussing the time I called them to everyone which I felt disrespectful a report wasn't made but maybe I don't want people to know my business and the sheriff wasn't man enough to talk to me face to face or keep it confidential but talk about it in the open to everyone else, yeah I am mad. I was also told by this office after I was there for a few hours to then sudden leave because my shirt wasn't tucked in. They should have told me to tuck it in at the beginning our books say that, and they lied and said when they told me to I got rude that's why they asked me to leave. I never said a word just tucked it in and was polite they lied and was screaming and yelling at me when we got back to the EMT office. I started crying and shaking they were so loud and banging doors and stomping but they had done that the whole time I was there. Also I was pregnant at the time, they said they didn't like the way I tucked my shirt in, I didn't like the way I was treated but no one cared at all. My teacher also pushed me into the stomach when I asked him a question at the beginning of the class and busted my pen in my hand and got it all over a white jacket. Every time I asked something the teacher wouldn't answer and everyone coming in to help demonstrate or teach the class never knew anything or helped. During my physical test for EMT basic everyone testing did something wrong. Two different tests they had cell phones out and were texting which that is not allowed or I get to redo that part. The people administrating the tests were talking to each other and about their personal life's and girlfriends etc., not allowed. They also communicated with me, not allowed. They kept saying I was done with my demonstration and to stop when I was just beginning or in the middle of it and that is not allowed or I would skip important parts and then fail. Also when I asked to help lift a body I had to do it on my own for a few mins. it wasn't till I was shaking and couldn't do it and about in tears when one of the guys said they should help after I asked again during the test, I was shaking for the rest of the tests and wanted to leave I was so upset no one absolutely does anything right or even listens. About everything that class or students say and do is wrong and if they know what is right they will change what you think is right tell you wrong so you do fail seriously. Only one girl student in Kendaville was nice to me and helped me out. The clinical at Dupont Hospital were bad. The girl I was teamed up with to show me things kept running off and leaving me to try to find her. I didn't learn anything from her just got yelled at from some other male nurse I wasn't trying on my clinical cause I sat down to do homework when she told me to do so, cause there was nothing to do and she kept leaving. I know at one point she was in the break room for like an hour and I was locked out just sitting outside the room. The male nurse talked on the phone to what his wife most of his shift or left his screen to go on break and eat and talk to other workers the whole time. When I asked to get my paper sign saying I did my hours they made me ask to fill it out over four times because they wouldn't do it right. One of the EMTs said I could leave early, but I kept telling him I have to have my hours and said they didn't need me, its not my fault no-one used the hospital it was Thanksgiving day, because they have no-one in the ER its not my fault and they are not in charge of sending me home I wanted to speak to the manager there too. Another nurse told me to clean rooms which I did, but then asked me to mess with someone's machine and got mad when I didn't and couldn't. She yelled at me and said she assumed I had worked in the hospital before maybe as a CN, no, so if I do it wrong she is at fault with the hospital. Also the nurses there don't really respect their patients I saw. They had one girl unconscious and didn't really keep her covered. I also took other classes at Ivy Tech and usually had a problem in all of them. A very bad school just a waste of time, highest flunking rate of schools in the area. read more
