I quit bishop luers in my sophomore year in the 1960s and went to South Side to get an education. All I ever got at luers was beaten up, by priests and students alike. I was hit on the head by a bible that was thrown at me by father valerian, who also whacked me with the crucifix on the end of his rosary belt, and was punched by father lucius because he didn't like me. I give them no stars. I'm sure it's better there now, since there is now a law against violence toward students. (I just found out you have to make a star rating to post a review, so I'll give it one.) Going to bishop luers was traumatic. School is not for the students it all for the money .The Choice Voucher program students are pointed out. They are treated different then the other students from teachers and staff members. The school in progress of building their own Church connected to school with this money. The former Business Office Manager stolen money from tuition accounts and other accounts.They did not make her pay it back they just fired her for her action. They are charging parents more on tuition and pocket the Choice Voucher money. The New Principle and New Business Manager is no better in keeping a track of money. They do not give you receipts on anything you pay to the school even tuition paid. I would not send my child there. read more

This is an excellent school with a very qualified principal. I have had 5 children attend in the last 9 years, two are still attending. At Bishop Luers children will be required to respect the Faith, peers and teaching staff. I want this kind of atmosphere for my children, they are in school to learn and sometimes need encouragement to reach their full potential. Academics are taken seriously as they are preparing each student for further education. No school is perfect as no person is perfect, however there is a genuine concern for each student. I have always received receipts for every fee or purchase made at this school. Yes, Luers has ongoing development in school structure and programs offered. This is wonderful! Again, I want a school always looking to better facilities and learning opportunities for their students. read more
