There was no language barrier, she speaks english, I speak english. My claim was denied right after that brief appointment and eventually I ended up using a cane for months to get around often because every step would hurt in the areas I told her. Pretty much four years after getting injured, physical therapy, treatment, ect I still have chronic pain and issues in the same places I told Dr Dorothy Scarpinato during that appointment. I still have to use a cane to get around when my back hurts depending on the pain. I have literally been in some sort of pain everyday for going on four years now. Every single time I am in pain and every single time had been in pain since that day I think about how I was treated at that biased appointment. After researching I learned that I am not the only person that has been mistreated by this doctor.

She was rude,…read moredisrespectful, and dismissive...she acted as if my appointment was a hinderance and didn't even give me a thorough examination. She acted on behalf of Geico as their physician, I was in the room no more than 2 minutes before she dismissed me. My paperwork, x-rays and MRI reports showed extensive damage and those weren't even examined. I don't know how this woman is allowed to continue her practice with actions like this...I didn't go into that office expecting to be treated like a vagrant, no one visiting any MD in any capacity should ever have to walk away feeling the way I felt. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has endured this treatment that was atrocious and uncalled for...I urge anyone else who has had the same experiences I've had to come forward, this woman shouldn't be allowed to continue!

My recovery after surgery has been much more difficult, painful, and prolonged than I was led to expect. If you've ever experienced nerve pain, you know how intense and unrelenting it can be, which made the lack of empathy and impersonal treatment by them that much more disappointing. Dr. Sonstein arrived at my hospital room the day after my surgery, to do his first and only post-op visit. In between talking to someone else on his cell phone, he quickly told us that he was very rushed--never a good thing when your job requires precision and care--and that he couldn't stay "more than a minute". He visually examined my incision (no more than a few seconds) and then quickly left the room (all while still on a phone call, obviously distracted). In the full year since my surgery, I have not heard from him, not even once, to ask about my recovery or if the pain meds were working. What a disappointing and shabby way to treat a patient. Clearly, my spinal surgery meant nothing more than a metric to him. Dr. Obedian was somewhat better, although he too was distracted on his cell phone during the first post-op hospital visit, and he too left the room quickly with no chance for a conversation. In my follow-up visits to his office it was clear to me that he was not familiar with my current pain management regime, and he and his PA twice prescribed pain and nerve medication that we had previously ruled out. I can't tell whether the surgery was successful. My lifestyle is still adversely impacted by pain (albeit, less pain than before) and limitations on my daily activities. Perhaps that improvement means that the surgery was as good as they had hoped for (or maybe even better), or perhaps it was substandard. I simply don't know.

I had to find a new office recently and stumbled upon this place 3-4 years ago. Very local, and…read morethey did appointments after 5pm which was very convenient for me so I gave it a shot. I called to make an appointment and it was clearly a call center that answered but that's the way of the world these days so I was fine with it. My first appointment with my new PCP was great, she was very professional and knowledgeable. However after that initial visit, it's all gone down hill since. In general, it's very difficult to actually get a hold of the local office and not the corporate call center. So I tried messaging my PCP in their portal, and no response. Being that I was a new patient, they wanted my prior immunization record which I had to drop off to them just as they were closing after I rushed there from work. I then scheduled an appointment with a podiatrist shortly after who was rude and dismissive and spent maybe 2 minutes in the exam room before saying "you're fine" and walking out to the next patient. Most recently when I went to schedule my physical, my PCP was only seeing patients for a physical at ridiculous hours like 11:30am and 2:30pm, which doesn't work for anyone who works full-time. So I made an appointment with another doctor in the office, the only one who was taking physical appointments after 5pm. One thing I loved about this office was the online presence and the fact that you can schedule appointments online, view results, fill out questionnaires - it's very convenient. Recently they established the online check-in process which I did prior to my appointment and was led to believe that there would then be a kiosk I would scan my phone at when I entered. When I arrived, there was no check-in kiosk. So I waited on the line for the front desk, which was redundant because the online check-in was supposed to avoid the waiting. They then pointed me over to a computer off to the side where I had to check in. Again. Even though I checked in on my phone already, I had to fill out more information and do more waiting. So after the redundant check-in process, I got there and I waited for a good 20 mins when the assistant called me in and took my vitals. Then the doctor came in another 20 mins later. This doctor was very nice and energetic, however she was a mess. The first thing she said when she walked in was "omg why would the front desk schedule a physical at 5:30pm!!!??! Ugh!" I responded by saying that I unfortunately work 9-5 so the late appointments work best for me. She then proceeded to ask me the same medical questions I already answered in the online questionnaire prior to the appointment. She also told me that I have no immunization records on file even though I gave them in YEARS ago. And to top it off, she also told me my profile indicates I'm not due for a physical for another month, even though I typically get my physical in the first week of January every year. When I insisted that I didn't think it was correct, she was telling me that I might get charged with a bill because I wasn't due for a physical. I checked my records in the app after the appointment and behold, I was correct, my physical was in January last year like I said. I dare them to send me a bill. This is also the only doctors office that I've heard of that makes you schedule multiple appointments to complete the annual physical. So the 1 hour + that you spend in the initial appointment isn't enough, now they ask you to come back again for lab work. The internal lab takes another hour at least and is only open from 8-4 on weekdays - so again if you work, good luck. You have to fast before lab work so it's very hard to do both appointments in the same day. Why can't the doctor just take my damn blood themselves? We all know very well that they all were trained on how to do it. It just seems lazy. Oh and the best part was that after the appointment was over, I was given a script for the lab work that I needed to bring to the front desk. When I got back to the front desk, the woman working at the desk completely ignored me for 5 minutes while she took a personal phone call. Then she told me "oh we're closed, I already shut my computer off, you don't need an appointment." Safe to say I will be finding a new doctors office that isn't a mess and actually has their shit together.

Customer service is terrible. Wait times are horrid. No one seems to want to assist with any…read moreconcerns.
