If I could give zero stars, I would. A year ago, I came in from a foreign country with beautiful 2 feet long virgin hair, I only had two front pieces that were bleached in which they were informed. Later I would find out that they clearly were not used to working with the type of hair that I had. I wear the hijab and had requested accommodation so that I was comfortable while they did my hair (in which they agreed to accommodate). I came in with a picture of reference from their own website. My hairstylist said that she could do it and I trusted her. I then got the job done but had to leave for work before my stylist could style it. Later when I went home, I had my brother take a picture of my hair and saw just how much she had fried it. I broke down into tears and I immediately decided to go to the salon with my big brother, feeling as though my whole world had collapsed. Kathy, one of the owners had greeted me nicely, asking me what they issue was and I explained. She told me she can go ahead and apply hair products to try and tame the frizzy mess her hairstylist had committed. I was pretty vulnerable back then, but when I think about it now, fried hair will not be solved by measly hair products. This salon sells their own hair products and clearly did not miss any opportunities to sell them, even in a catastrophic situation like mine. She applied the hair products and obviously it did not do much. I went home and had sent pictures of my hair to friends and family, asking for advice on what I should do. They all were just as upset as me and couldn't believe just how bad it was. I then decided to go back to them with a friend and ask for a refund. I will not have a frizzy mess of what looked like a dead animal and also be short of the 150 dollars that I had paid. Kathy and Evie, the two owners, and one other worker had decided to meet with me downstairs of what I assume to be the basement of the salon. Again, in tears, I explained the situation and was reasonably really upset. I said that it did not even come close to the reference photo and my hair is now completely damaged and I may even have to cut it short and that the stylist didn't seem to even know what she was doing. Kathy was ultimately defensive, saying she would not tolerate any wrongdoing towards her hairstylist, that her hairstylist was one of the best (I would beg to differ since my hair was in a knotted, frizzy mess now). Even when I had addressed the stylist, seeing as though she was the one that did it, Kathy would get upset at me for even saying that her stylist had done a bad job, like mistakes could never happen in their perfect salon. Then they brought in the stylist that worked on my hair, she admitted to saying that my hair did not lift they way she expected it to, and that the color wasn't what she was aiming for when she was washing my hair. They said I should be using hair products more, that my hair was "always like this" as if I don't know my own hair. When I asked why they didn't do a test strand, Kathy said "we don't unless the client asks". As if that is a good enough excuse to just risk it all at the expense of their customers. They had even told me that there must have been something that I did to my hair that I can't remember, and that is why the final result looked the way it did. It seemed as though they were trying to find any possible way to make all of this my fault. They had even thrown in the "but we accommodated you" as though I should be grateful for at least that. I have never, in my life, dealt with worst customer service than this. This review is a warning for those with textured/foreign hair, go at your own risk. God forbid they mess up your hair because they will try to gaslight you into thinking that you were the reason your hair looks like roadkill. read more
