I have been to this quaint pub a few times over the years and have most of the times been happy with their meal. They have got a new Chef in and a new menu. OMG!!! I must say a small crowd recently came to celebrate a birthday and most of us had something different. The presentation was spot on and tasted even better. The bar staff and waitresses are very friendly. You can sit outside in the sunshine, there is a smoking area and a large car park. Well worth a visit read more

History
Established in 2005.
The Ivy House dates back to the 19th Century when it provided for the needs of the coal miners and canal workers of Newtown. It is first listed on the Ordnance Survey map of 1834. One of the first publicans, listed in the census of 1861 was David Collins who was also an iron puddler. On the old A34 route in the centre of Newtown, it is well situated and easy to locate. The building has a good sized car park to the side and a large beer garden. Walking into this traditional style pub brings you into a warm and very friendly atmosphere where you immediately feel amongst friends. There is a great food selection here which complements an award winning, well kept selection of Marston's Beers and Ales.
