I walked in very cautious because with a stylist who is a stranger, a lot can be misunderstood - plus, I have hair almost to my waist, and after encountering some stylists who seemed to feel like a few extra unasked inches off was not a big deal (wut), I am scared of new stylists... but no need for fear, here! Hiro is very attentive and listens very carefully, and clearly had no agenda but to apply his expertise to my direction. Hiro cut my hair dry so I could make adjustments as we saw the progress; he was very conservative at my request, and didn't complain in the least when I reconsidered my asks twice and wanted to cut even more to address the dry ends. It was clear I could trust him not to overdo it, which made me trust his judgement. After the main trim, he did a fantastic wash and head massage, used the dryer on only medium heat (which is so much better for your hair!) and did a little more touch-up trimming once my hair was fully blown out. I walked out feeling like a whole new person, and am super grateful to not have haggard hair for my last few days in London!

This is my experience and mine alone. That of other customers may differ…read more A while ago I had my extensions done here, several times, by a lady named Rachael (Rachel?). Whilst the salon itself, and quality of her work, cannot be faulted, her interpersonal skills WITH ME (NOT others) were horrendous. First of all, she was half an hour late for our first appointment, for which she didn't apologize or even offer an explanation. Secondly she was consistently rude towards me. I have a disability, in addition to social anxiety, which I told her about from the outset; she honed in on these things and kept making fun of me for them (this was even confirmed afterwards by a friend who attended one of the appointments with me; as expected, Rachael (sp?) was all smiles with my friend). Rachael (sp?) even went so far as to blame me for her "getting in trouble" for booking an appointment with me. I watched her interact with colleagues and other customers, with whom she was the picture of amicability. When I confronted her about this (after our final appointment) she said I deserved [to be bullied] because I was "weak". I only returned in the first place because, at that time, I wasn't aware of any other decent hair extensionists in the area. Given the choice I absolutely wouldn't have, on account of this particular stylist. It's a shame that a decent salon, and skilled work even by the person in question, can be devalued because of certain people's attitude. I don't know if Rachael (sp?) still works with Alter Ego, but if she doesn't I would consider giving the place a chance again.

There are many other hair salon in the area just like Hayato hair salon, now, why did I decided on the Jubilee?? the hair salon I first went into in fact was Hayato but the guy was cocky and with attitude so I left their premise... Since they seems to want to only do ppl with "Virgin hair" un-dyed. Anyways after that moment my second choice became my first choice and I'm glad! I was hesitating if I wanted my hair color done in this hair salon, so I had a consultation with one of the staff then decided to book an appointment for the Saturday, which I was given the approx amount what I would expect to be paying and made a deposit. My hair stylist's name is Yukiko, very professional and polite, I did twice bleaching, color and hair cut, I went for balayage ombré with so baby light in the tone of grey blue lilac ish kind of theme, I also had hair mask done as well. Overall i like my experience although the price was a bit high, considering it is however in Covent Garden, everything will b higher price point. On my first visit I didn't get the desired color, therefore, YUkiko offered me to come back the following week to fix my color, and I would require to pay if I need bleaching, otherwise I won't. I like how my haircut went, I just trimmed about 2-3 inches n cleaned up the end since bleaching pretty much kill my hair anyways lol. My other half had a hair cut all went well, he had a junior stylist cut his hair n he payed 35£ n he like it so that's all it matters. Product they use for hair colouring is Wella, I wish they uses Olaplex but oh well. Overall experience it was great! Definitely recommend and would go back to YuKiko.
