Pros: Awesome service, show, and staff
Cons: Parking
I went to the show a few weeks back with a large group of friends to celebrate my sister's birthday.
When we first arrived we could not find street parking so we had to valet. I thought it was going to be super expensive but it was reasonable for the hotel the show is in. If you tell them you are there for the show it's like $15. If you drink or eat at the hotel and get a validation it's $12.
The valet guy pointed us to the show but all I saw was a a poster but no sign. we didn't know whether to go in the elevator or up the stairs. Maybe they should put a little arrow or sign next to the poster.
We eventually figured it out and waited in line for a few minutes before the hostess, Marcie, came out to check us in. She was so helpful, friendly, funny and kept her cool under chaos of the waiting area, kudos to her, the way some people talked to her is crazy. I don't think treating someone like crap is going to give you front row seats. Leave the poor gal alone. People have no manners now a days I suppose. She told us it happens all the time and you gotta just roll with it. LOL I would have rolled over their face with my car but I admire her calm attitude.
Since we were a large group (16, 10 adults, 6 children) we asked her if it would be possible to sit together since it was my sister's Bday and she told us it was first come first seating but she would move some stuff around to try to get us seated together. She asked us to make our own line off to the side.
When she finally opened the doors she asked for VIP ticket holders and motioned for us too. We felt so special! VIP up in here! LOL The room is small, about 3 rows so not getting a good view is not a problem unless you are a kid.
Which of course we had 6 of them. LOL She recommended the kids sit in the high stools in the back but they didn't want to. Right before the show started most of the seats were taken, taller people sat in the front row and the kids could not see but by that time the tall stools were taken. We asked Marcie if she could move some of the kids to the front row and she told us they were reserved for VIP ticket holders that have yet to arrive but that if they didn't show she would move them up. Unfortunately some of the VIPs arrived but there were still 3 seats left. She said that she could sit 3 of the smaller kids in the front and she would stack chairs for the other 3, kinda like a booster seat. It worked! How creative! LOL
Now, as for the show. It was amazing! Some tricks were better than others but they still were fun to watch. I read there would be plants so I was a little skeptical but he chose us for a few of his tricks so there goes my theory. LOL
Marcie told Ivan that it was my sister's bday and he called her up to do the fish trick. It was probably my favorite trick of the night! So cool! He was naturally funny. No jokes, really, just funny. We were laughing the whole time. The show was 90 minutes and the time went fast because next thing you know it was over.
Definitely coming back and definitely telling my friends.
And in case you are reading this, Marcie, I am sorry we were such pains in the butt. You handled things amazingly and made our night even better! I know you didn't have to but we are sure glad you did. Thank you for an amazing show experience all around! read more
