The campus is gorgeous…read moreand everyone from students, university volunteers, staff to the President made us feel welcome. During the weekend, we caught the Tennessee State University vs Notre Dame football game (Go BIG BLUE!) - both teams played their hearts out and the marching bands put on an incredible halftime performance (AOB in the House!). The whole gameday atmosphere was electric from vendors on the streets to the alumni enjoying the many festivities! The Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Grotto were highlights, though I'll admit I didn't fully understand their significance until taking a self-guided tour (which I recorded - so glad I did!). During my tour of the Basilica, I was fortunate enough to witness people gathering in the pews, awaiting the organist's performance. I stayed for the small concert and was completely moved - the music echoing through that sacred space was truly special. You can see the magnificent instrument from the main floor. The entire church interior and exterior with the spectacular dome is a beautiful sight before your eyes. Later I learned the Basilica dates back to 1871 with one of the largest collections of 19th-century French stained glass anywhere. The Grotto is actually a one-seventh replica of the famous one in Lourdes, France, built in 1896. It's a sacred place where visitors light candles for prayer and reflection - an important spiritual landmark that represents the university's Catholic heritage. I lit several candles while I was there, it was a very peaceful and spiritual experience. Some quick tips: *Be careful where you park or you'll get ticketed. There are parking fees too. *Don't miss their bookstore - it's amazing and has something for everyone. The associates in the bookstore were very helpful. *Book hotels early, especially during football season. *There are good grocery stores nearby for room snacks and plenty of restaurants downtown. *Ubers and Lyfts are plentiful if you don't rent a car. *Do a little homework before you arrive so you can plan your day, in other words check the website before you arrive on campus. Knowledge is power! *Wear comfortable shoes - you'll do tons of walking, especially with kids at football games! Absolutely worth visiting for the beautiful architecture, grounds, and rich history that unfolds as you explore and don't forget to check out Touch Down Jesus too! As their fight song goes: 'Wake up the echoes cheering her name!'

Came here for the NIU and Notre Dame football game. Go Huskies!…read more ND has a nice campus. It's extremely open, green, and has plenty of outdoor seating. The architecture is cool; it has a cathedral type feel. We tailgated in the parking lot and took the bus over.

Indiana University South Bend is part of the Indiana University system…read more The university started out as a place where "non traditional" students went to school at night while still maintaining a full time job to further their careers. However, with the cost of tuition rising and parents unable to help out, many more traditional students are choosing IUSB for their education. This is seen by the number of building projects over the last 10 years. New classroom buildings have been erected, a student center built and land purchased for the building of dorms. IUSB lives in the shadow of it's more well-known neighbor, University of Notre Dame but has some features which the larger and much more pricey universities do not. Class sizes are small. At state run schools, it is not uncommon to have 100s of students in your introductory classes. This is not the case at IUSB. Even these 100 level mandatory classes are small with about 30-40 students in a class. By the time you have reached your 300 level classes, there are usually less than 10 people in your classes. This makes for excellent student - teacher relationships. The faculty at IUSB is nothing to laugh at either. They have been recognized around the world for their research and teaching abilities. Many of them could be other places but choose to stay at IUSB because of the atmosphere and relationship with students. Worried about further education? Undergraduates in all fields usually have the opportunity to work closely with a professor on a research project if they choose. They have gone to prestigious graduate schools, law schools and medical schools. There is a graduate program too. Another good thing -- if you decide to get out of town, IUSB is the IU system so ALL of your credits transfer!!

Once you taken classes at iusb your way of thinking expands. The campus has a lot of different clubs and organizations the students can participate in making their college experience more engaging. The professors are extremely knowledgeable and promote the students in higher order thinking about different aspects to life. Iusb has some cute cafes and a grill that serves decent food for students and a Starbucks. The campus is easy to navigate and the faculty are very helpful to students.

There are so many options for study abroad, and the school makes it so easy for students to fit it into their 4 year plan. The SIP (Senior Independent research Project) and Comps (Comprehensive exams) made senior year quite difficult. But I still had a great 4 years!

This is a medical training facility how is it sanitary to have roaches? The floors are filthy yet they want the students to set their stuff on the floor. They have one teacher for medical assisting doing everything because the other teacher for administration walked out. The teacher is great but she can only do so much. The only teaching assistant they have spends all her time on her phone. When the students ask her to get off and teach them she replies that she is an adult and she doesn't have to get off her phone. The student don't even get all the info need to pass the exams. They told the students they don't have money to hire another teacher. however they just hired a second receptionist. They get after students for having jackets on but they still have the air going and some student's became sick as a result. Don't come to this school you will be paying for a very low education and a horrible experience.
