Believe everything you are reading in theses low rated reviews. It's real. I spent over 22K USD with IJL and the Elite service. I am an executive and I dont have much time to look on line. The men paired with me by this service was never even close to what I would consider settling with and the service didn't listen. My suggestion to anyone considering a dating/ matchmaking service, you will get better results with Match, Elite Singles or Zoosk and save a load of money. This company was recommended to me from a friend. Based on that, I did not check yelp reviews prior to signing up. I can only wish I prevent anyone from giving these people your hard earned money. Rachel, Erica, Caroline are all great conversationalist but nothing more. They will boost your esteem, make you feel like you will have no shortage of dates. I signed up 9/26/17 and as of today have not had ONE date. Michael & I were to meet on a Sunday at 5pm. One hour prior to that date, I got a call from the after hours line hat he needed to cancel, was out of town and wouldn't make it back in time. But there's more here. The after hours person said traffic, the next day they said he was sick. Which is it? Okay. I give people second chances. Our second date, I had to cancel due to a work emergency but gave a 4 hour notice. Rescheduled. Last Friday. I checked in at a very crowded restaurant, was told he wasn't there but to wait a moment and they would seat me. Within 5 minutes, the hostess came over and let me know my date was late, stuck in traffic. I waited 25 minutes, getting increasingly angry. I left at 7:55pm. I did not call the after hours number. However, I did receive a call from them at 8:05pm, saying Michael was at the restaurant and disappointed I didn't wait, would I consider going back? Not only no, but HELL NO! I heard from Its Just Lunch on Monday, asking me how my date went - hello? Do you people communicate? And now I heard from them again, today. The excuse changed from he was caught in traffic to he had to take his son to the emergency room. Apparently, they only have this one date for me and can't keep their lies straight. I was initially told this was $2,200 and a $98 a month fee. I was told I'd receive $500 off as a gift. The billing person in another state said she would run through my credit check first and then let me know if I was accepted. Then I was to be charged for an amount down. She sent me an e document I signed on my phone. She charged me immediately - with a contract of $2,800!!!! I called her back immediately and said I was told by the chicago contact, Meghann, that my fee was $2,200. She argued with me when I said I wanted my money back/stopped immediately. She said I had to talk with my chicago rep. I was also told I was being sent on my first date right after payment - when prior I was told I would meet Meghann in chicago first to interview. I had to talk to Meghann and explain immediately I wanted my money back. I saw these reviews on yelp and it scares the crap out of me more. Meghann said they will refund my money but I have to mail a letter to a specific office in chicago within 3 days. Now I have to write a letter and pray to god they are giving me money back Sabrina became pissed and told me I "signed a contract" so "technically" they don't owe me anything in refund. They take your money immediately - misquote you the fee - tell you differently about the dating process and these reviews make it more obvious to avoid this service. I joined years ago for 12 dates. I got halfway through and gave up. The dates got worse as they went on. One girl didn't even know why we were put together. It was a terrible waste of time and money. They are still calling me to see if I am interested in going on dates. It's been years and I have told them to take me off there call list. I'm also in a relationship. They don't get it. It's a very expensive program/membership! I keep getting calls from the Naperville office (I live in Niles) and they keep trying to sell me on their program .... $3500 for 6 months! I keep telling them I can goes that kind of money and I still get calls. I can't justify spending that type of money on a program with very limited expectations. I regret asking for info on their website because they keep trying to sell me on a very expensive membership. So .... my strong suggestion is Don't Do It! read more

Absolute scam. Beware a company that will try to sell you something without letting you see pictures of what you are buying. Beware a company that will only communicate over the phone. Basically they can promise you the world and not have a paper trail. They don't have a big enough pool to really match people well. You just get who they have at any given time. I only got 6 dates,roughly one a month. If IJL have sooo many "quality singles" then why wouldn't they set me up with multiple lunches in a week. I can't stress how much a ripoff this organization is. And no I don't have a problem getting a date. My ex-wife was a professional cheerleader for the Bulls and several of my recent girlfriends are model-like beautiful. read more

Save your money and your time. They are now toting a $2800 membership fee to sign up and then you have to pay a monthly fee to keep your membership active. They say they do background checks, but they are only limited. You have no idea if you are dating a criminal, someone with a questionable past or someone who just wants to empty out your bank account. The only thing they enforce is that you have to be employed and that you cannot be on any other dating services while you are a member. How they determine how much is your membership fee is to the scale of how much you earn for a living. The person who makes six figures will pay more than the average Joe or Jane that makes five figures. How they match you, is the early morning coffee clutch meeting. They all gather around a table and share files and decide whom should meet whom, regardless of your initial request of what you would like your match's background to be. Men are matched with younger women, (sometimes very young women) however women are never matched with younger men, even if they request to be. Status quo is women are paired with older or much older men. One of my dates complained explicitly to the poor waitress over and over again as to how far he had to walk to the restaurant to meet me. I was so embarrassed that I wanted to crawl under the table. Another date, showed me pictures of his fruit trees he grew in his yard. One date had just divorced his wife and had no business of dating yet. Another date was so creepy that I asked the manager to walk me to my car. (I wish I was making this up, but this is pure fact!) They also make the reservations at high end partnership restaurants. But what they don't tell you is that they get a kickback from these restaurants in securing these reservations and driving the restaurant partners revenue. It's Just Lunch is the most expensive lunch you will ever buy. The staff here is only interested in making their sales quota. They don't care about how you want to invest into your future or yourself. They only see the dollars and their bonuses. They will tell you they have professional stand up men and women to pair you up with. But buyer beware, what they say and what they do are two very different things. And when you advise them of your displeasure, it's told to you that they will let someone know or they will note your file. For the cost of partaking in this service, you have better odds in meeting someone on your own or on-line without all the added drama and drain on your bank account. And if you choose to take advantage of this service, you will also find out that upon speaking with your scheduled dates/members that the conversation usually revolves around their experiences with dealing with the service and how disappointed they are for what they paid for. I hope this review helps anyone who is seriously thinking of signing up. Everyone has their own opinions...and I have mine. My experience was nightmarish. I signed up for this service almost ten years ago. It was very expensive, but I liked the idea that psychological experts would be matching you with compatible partners, and that there would be privacy and anonymity up front. The entire experience was horrible. I like people generally and typically find something salvageable in most encounters, even if only a wry story of how thoroughly different our perspectives are. Nothing salvageable with this "service"/ scam. If they were TRYING to make your romantic life a misery, they couldn't do a better job of it. Why am I only now reviewing this place? Because the Iast time they called me ( they keep calling, though it has been ten years since I had anything to do with them, and I have been in a relationship that I found on Match for nine years now)I left a return message for Erica advising that if she did not take me off the call list, I would add my voice to everyone else's who is begging/protesting this place's continued phone haraasment. STOP CALLING. I WAS INCREDIBLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE. I HAVE EXPRESSED THIS TO ITS JUST LUNCH ON MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS. THEY KEEP HARASSING ME WITH THE PHONE CALLLS, ADDING INSULT TO INJURY. Extremely dissatisfied with this matchmaking service. First, the dating selections were men who if I had met in person, I would not have been romantically interested in, at all. It seemed like matchmakers could only focus on one aspect at a time (education, height, athleticism), and that was how dates were set up. I know I'm looking for a lot (variety of characteristics which I hold in high esteem) which is why I reached out to a service to do that for me. This one characteristic only focus I can do by myself, and frankly isn't what I'm looking for in a matchmaking service. I had been looking forward to finding a company with a high calibre of dating matches or at least more complex method for creating matches. This company is not that. Setting me up with men who did not match my list is a big turn off for me. My money is not being well-spent. Lastly, felt in conversations I was not being heard. I had hoped to work with the woman who I interviewed with however I only worked with her assistants and many of them were new on a monthly basis. So then I had matchmakers calling me throughout the school day to set things up when they knew I was teaching & unavailable as well as being inflexible about my interview (had to go downtown (1 hr drive both ways for a 20 minute meeting) and not listening to my suggestions for future dating matches. I had this conversation at least 3 times and this fourth time, I finally I listened to myself and told the person no i want to cancel. Huge waste of time & money. read more

You don't get what you pay for. The membership $1,800, outcome zilch. The director spent two hours with me describing how wonderful their service is, now that I have personally experienced it... I realize that it was all a sales pitch. The initial interview is the only time you speak with the director who is the person that does the matching, the rest of the time you only speak with the coordinator. During the 1 year membership, there was a lot of turnover in staff, 3 directors and 7 coordinators. After each date, you provide feedback, which is suppose to assist them in focusing on the "perfect" match, however that didn't seem to happen; each date just seemed to get worse and worse. When I complained to them about the lack of their understanding of me and what I was looking for, they tried to upsell me on a different membership. For me, this is a very expensive lesson learned.
