This is a near-identical copy of my review posted on Google reviews but this is a REAL post, nonetheless ... I DO NOT recommend this company. They are not trustworthy. After a horrible date of my own, I tried to provide feedback and lodge a complaint. They blatantly disregarded my complaint then ignored my follow-up inquiries. And never got back to me. Pretending like I didn't exist. The only thing this company cares about sucking every possible bit of money outta their clients. They do not regard their clients (at least not their male clients) as full-fledged human beings. Simply as walking wallets. Do not trust these people. Take my word for it. Poor quality, been using IJL for several months and they have not delivered a single match. Use anyone else

It's Just lunch contacted me to set me up on 12 dates in a 12 month period. One a month for a dating service. I gave them criteria for dates. They set me up on 1 date in a 21/2 year period of time then told me my service had expired. I contacted them several times in the first year asking for my money back because they were not providing the service. They continued to apologize and said they were promising 12 dates and it didn't matter when they occurred. I called today to say they forgot about me 2 1/2 years later and they said my service expired. They then said they had offered 9 dates that I turned down because of distance or the fact that the dates did not have children. I accepted all dates that were in my area and/or did have children which were only 1 that I met and another that was cancelled due to weather. All of the others were either too far to drive or DID NOT HAVE CHILDREN which is a hard no for me. They only offered dates that did not fit my criteria and did not tell me that this was considered 1 of the 12 dates whether selected or not. I continued to stay in touch with them, but they did not stay in touch with me. I asked for money back soon after and have lots of email exchanges with them saying I haven't given them a chance. When I realized no dates were being offered and this is a scam, I again asked for my money back and they said good luck. I have lots of names in the company and many emails I can send to you for proof. Do not give these people your money. This is a rip-off. They do not have quality candidates and they do not "matchmake". They sent two possible candidates. The first never returned their phone call to schedule a date. The second was not an acceptable option for me. I declined him and ask if there were other options. All communications were driven by me. Horrible experience with this company. Being a single female in my mid-thirties, they were unable to find any decently attractive males for me over an entire year period. You would think with the size of Dallas, there would be a big pool of people but there isn't. Socially awkward people with no personality. Don't waste your money. Also, the matchmaker does not actually learn and focus on getting a better candidate for you as they learn who you like and don't like. They almost get worse because they just dont care to spend the time to professionally match and they run out of candidates so they just start sending you everyone in their system hoping you will say yes to one. The WORST service I have ever wasted money on. The men I met, while nice, were definitely not for me. And it was so very expensive...the dates were in "meh" establishments. The best part of it all was when out of 5 men, I only met 2...and then they wanted me to drop another 10k$ on top of the $4k I already spent for an "elite level dating experience." Please do not pay for this service. I paid in the five figures for quality matches that would match my needs. I gave them two requirements at the beginning. 1) the gentleman had to be taller than me and 2) the gentleman not be obese. My first date was with a guy that was 3 inches shorter than me. They didn't report his height on the one pager they sent me so I didn't think that was a question I even had to ask. Date two was with a guy that was very obese. He needed two chairs to sit and couldn't walk across the room without running out of breath. We had nothing in common and he spent the entire time talking about his wealth. Date three was the only date that was alright. He was within my requirements and was kind but we just didn't click. Totally understandable. Date four (final date) was with a guy that was 5 inches shorter than me. They again didn't disclose his height. On top of that, he had interests that were so diverse from mine, we had nothing to talk about at dinner. Each time I complained, they told me they provided me quality matches and that they don't match on preferences. If you don't match on preferences, why do you ask? I've asked for a refund multiple times, even after my first date but was denied each time. They are hard to get in contact with and will argue with you from beginning to end. I'm a paying customer. She saw that no one ever replied to me and I told her she could tell everyone why they set her up for failure, calling me for money after providing a garbage service. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! "Matchmaker" is a J O K E I joined IJL, hoping to meet quality professional men that I wouldn't meet on an online dating site. It was a complete waste of money. It was as if the 2-hour phone interview never happened. Not one date met even my minimum requirements. Nearly half of them were from 1 to 3 inches shorter than me! I'm 5-9...it's not like I'm 6'2. All except one was overweight or significantly overweight; this, despite the fact that I emphasized that I am in shape and value a healthy lifestyle. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Wish I would have done my homework better and saw these reviews here. Save your money. The person in sales painted a very nice picture was very responsive spent a lot of time with me but once they had my money it became a different story. I was explaining there'll be 24 matches. Later I found out it's match opportunities, so if I don't accept the match that they give me I just lost that match. The first guy was really not what I was looking for just in photo and description. The second guy was better the date was set up and he no-showed. No response from anybody at the company two days later I finally found out he had a flight change. That matchmaker was not very good at communicating in fact I didn't hear from her for 2 weeks after I was stood up. I got a new matchmaker who was better, the first date they gave me was okay but I went on it because I knew I would lose that match if I didn't and I had to trust the process. However that date also failed to show, said he was stuck in traffic. I asked for a refund and was told someone to get back in 48 hours, however it's been exactly one week and I finally spoke with someone who said a refund's not possible because they can still give me opportunities. They are escalating me to someone who might be able to help me but said they don't do refunds. Did I mention the service cost $5,000? So I'm currently disputing it with my credit card company. Let me just say. If you pay even 5 cents to join. You paid to much. This is by far the WORST dating service on the planet. I think sticking my thumb out on the corner would have been better that using this service. I'm not fat, old, dumb, or broke. I just can't meet a fence by guy if my life depended on it. If you're ever wondering about those dating services and what they do, maybe this might interest you... I called It's Just Lunch because I was curious about the service and how much they'd charge. Well, I got just a little bit of information over the phone (that they're in the BBB and been around a while) and they wanted to know if I could come in and just get some more detailed information. Now at this point I'm thinking, they're just going to sell me, sell me, sell me on something and it's probably going to be something really expensive. But I specifically said I'm just coming in for more information and they assured me that's ok. Well, I thought to myself, if I'm even slightly pushed into some sale or something, I am soooooo gone! I knew they were in several cities across the US so I figured they must have something going for them, so why not? Just the information and that's it. When I make it to the place (it can be a little confusing even with directions), the building looks posh. I head on up to the floor and look for the office. Once I ring the doorbell(yes, a door bell), someone on the other side lets me in. I'm taken to a little room (about 10 ft by 10 ft) that's decked out in PURPLE painted walls, FUR carpet, frames on the wall of success stories, a shelf with books about dating, business cards on a small table and two leather chairs facing each other roughly about 5 or 6 feet apart. I'm thinking at this point, man, they are going to try and pitch me some sale and they're going all out! It was very unusual because this building has businesses here and I am sitting on the 5th floor overlooking the Dallas Tollway and it's like I'm sitting in somebody's living room or something! I'm trying not to get too comfortable because I'm expecting the pitch. Lindsey is the name of the lady who will be doing an "interview". She's tall wearing a skirt down to just above the knee, about 5'7" with 2 inch heels on, caucasian, kinda cute but not exactly my type. I fill out two pieces of paper about myself on a clipboard and Lindsey takes a look at it. She starts asking me specifics about each interest like... What Do I Do In My Spare Time? What Kind Of Girl Am I Looking For? Nationality? Height? Build? What Activities Do I Do? What Kind Of Work Do I Do? We talk about each one in detail and just go down a list and she gets me talking about myself and more about what I'm looking for. I start to get comfortable and during this time she mentions she has a few girls that might fit that criteria (hmmmm, I'm thinking). The interview goes for a while and it's not like it's tedious or anything. It actually is a little fun. Towards the end, she says she has some girls on mind that she thinks would be a perfect match, like about 4 off the top of her head. So, at this point I'm interested but I know what's coming next.... The cost for a one year membership is $1700.00 and that guarantees a minimum of 12 dates or 12 months whichever comes later. I knew it'd be high and I'm thinking for a moment, 12 dates? Is that it? She reassures me it's going to be a MINIMUM of 12 so there will be more. I told her I'd think about it but she keeps interjecting specifics about the 4 or 5 girls that she thinks would be a perfect match for me. I tell her I'm really not committing to anything, I just need to be more social....and she reassures me that It's Just Lunch, so don't worry about it. The next day she follows up with me and mentions there are several more girls that she's got on her mind that I might like. They're cute, very fit and petite, stable jobs. Well, ok ok. I might just break down and go for this but probably in a month or two because that is a chunk of cash for a "dating service". So, all in all, 3 stars because Lindsey was pretty nice and answered all my questions but I'll be writing follow ups for sure so we'll see if it's just a scam or if the service is up to par! read more

This dating site is a scam. I joined them years ago, at the recommendation of a friend. The talk about the number of marriages but refused to disclosed the percentage of marriages to the number of members. I went to the meeting and agreed to join. I was told that I would have 12 months or 12 dates. I dealt with Lindsey and her assistant. I was called at home about the girls I would meet up, by her assistant. I would be told I would meet up with blonde hair, blue eye girl, and a brunette and green eyed girl would show up. Her assistant did not even tell me the right discription of the girl I would meet up with. I was not allowed to see pictures of any of the girls I would be meeting. In addition, I had many no shows, people show up late, and many leave in the middle of the dates, and yet, those dates counted. To top it off, the agency never told the girls that I worked night shift, when I asked them to. It always was a surprise. On a separate note, and I know that this sounds wrong, but I did not want interracial dating and yet, they set me up twice. It was very embarassing for me. I am not a racist but I don't date outside my race. I demanded a refund after horrible dates. The corporate office refused to refund my money. I called the office of the president and got 50% of my money back. I accepted it. This company is just out to get your money, and throw a warm body your way. Not worth your time or money. read more

I would like to take moment to request that any readers of yelp reviews in regards to Its Just Lunch of Dallas, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS MEMBERSHIP!!!!! I signed up for this membership and had a total of two dates within approximately 1 1/2 months. Following my second date, my employer transferred me to another state which was unforeseen to me in advance. I made a simple inquiry to their office not requesting a refund but simply a transfer of my membership to the new city, where I could begin to date.. Alternatively I requested a negotiation of a partial refund to apply to a new membership in the new city.. All requests were DENIED.. There was no counter offer or customer service type options offered by Its Just Lunch Dallas. This was the worst treatment a customer could receive. As a paying customer I am out $2800.00. PLEASE READ ALL reviews before signing up.. Many of us have had issues with this firm and their ridiculous business practices.! read more

I was extremely frustrated, disappointed, bullied and wasted a lot of time and money. At first, my "personal" matchmaker was all about finding my perfect match. After an hour on the phone and $2,700 later, I was very clear about what I was attracted to in a partner, my expectations and my goals for a relationship and I was assured those expectations and goals would be met. Wrong! I was sent approximately eight pictures and profiles of men that I wasn't the least bit interested in, however, I was reminded constantly about how wealthy they were and what type business they were in, how excited they were to meet me, as if this was going to change my mind. Disgusting. I went on a date and found out this guy had been a member of IJL for four years, he was not looking for a relationship, he was looking for a hookup. I'm a 48 year old woman with a successful career, I'm not looking for an older gentlemen to take care of me. I tried to contact the IJL Headquarters to file a complaint about my Matchmaker, and possibly get together with a new Matchmaker. I received a call back from my Matchmaker, a not to pleasing call, if you can imagine. After weeks of trying to work with her, her refusal to return my calls, weeks with no communications, I called to cancel and obtain a partial reimbursement of my Membership. This generated a return call, of course. I was told by my Matchmaker that I could not cancel my membership and would not be receiving any type of reimbursement of my $2,000 Membership, that my Membership would simply just run out. I could kick myself for ever giving IJL my time and my money. read more

Save your money!!! Ripoff I would tell anyone looking to sign up should be very careful. When I was thinking about signing up they said they had lots of women that wanted to meet me. That did not happen, I did have two dates. One decided that she wanted to see someone else. Ok, that happens. The other one decided that we were not a good match. I can understand that. I would give them feedback after the lunches and ask for feedback as well. It felt like it went in one ear and out the other. After those two lunches, it felt like my coach would just submit random people to say that they fulfilled their part of the contract. At the beginning when I told them the type of women I was looking for I said I didn't want someone who wanted to start a family. (I already have two sons) Yet, she still recommended and submitted someone who did??? I paid a LOT of money to try and meet someone special. The only thing I met was disappointment and an empty wallet. I could have got the same results on my own using Tinder or another dating app and saved a lot of money! I wish I had visited this site before I was swindled out of $2800. Everything I have read from other posts has been my experience. Unprofessional, fast talking staff who promise you the world and deliver on nothing. They interview you and then don't take any of that information into consideration when they match you. The men they've sent me I could meet any day of the week walking down a dusty road!! One guy looked like his photo was taken in a police interrogation room. Requested men over 5'10" and they send me short men! You don't see a portfolio of men in their catalog so you enter blindly trusting that they will find you a match based on all of their fast talk about how many people they have matched and how long they've been in business. While I was tired of swiping left, it didn't cost me anything. Hope to meet someone the old fashioned way one day but ladies and gents, whatever you do, stay the hell away from this dating service. BE CAREFUL. Based on my personal experience, IJL is mostly a marketing scam. It's positioned as a concierge/executive dating service that's worth $4,000 (for a minimum of seven dates over 10 months) but they do not appear to have the resources available to follow-through on their promise. Make them tell you how few potential partners they have in their database for your city (they will dodge that question as long as you allow them to). Make them tell you how impossible it will be to get your money back once you've given it to them - in spite of their lack of follow-through and also in spite of the absence of any specific contract terms that prohibit termination/cancellation of the arrangement. I was given 3 lame dates. At the initial sign up I was promised at least 5 if not more. My membership was running out and I left a voicemail on my rep's prime plus sent e-mails. I never heard back. My membership has since run out and I never heard from them again. I had a positive experience with them 7 years ago. This time it was totally disappointing! They have gone down hill for sure!!! I had joined IJL in another city and had a great experience. In fact, I highly recommended the service to several of my friends. Then I moved to Dallas and thought I would have the same experience, but it turned out just the opposite. They do very little to promote personal service and are worse than any low rent used car salesman. Several of the people they matched me with felt the same, and I wonder why they're still in business. It's an expensive service to consistently have matches that are no where in the same universe. I joined It's Just Lunch in Dallas after one of my friends went through the process. She even ended up in one of their magazine ads. Even though her match didn't work out, she said it was fun, so what the heck! I met with one of the coordinators and gave them my specifics. I was pretty open to meeting new people, with the criteria being that they had no children and lived in the greater Dallas area. I lived and worked downtown and had brutal hours, and frankly did not have the energy or desire to drive to Fort Worth or McKinney to meet up on a regular basis. They gave me the standard talk about how they already had 4-5 people in mind that were "just perfect"!! I wouldn't have fallen for that line if I had read their prior reviews. Also, I should have known that something was up when they demanded the yearly fee the next day. They even sent a courier to my office to pick up the check, which was pretty embarrassing. The dates were, well... random. I had a few no shows, and tons of people who lived in Prosper, Fort Worth, and god knows where else. They also sent me out with someone who was divorced with 3 children and was commuting to Fort Worth from Georgia on a weekly basis. Every time they asked for feedback I reminded them of my criteria. It never helped. I have to say the most pleasant dates were the ones that were purely platonic and the one with the obviously gay man who loved theater. I consider myself a fairly savvy person but they have an incredibly slick sales process - lot's of talk about personalized service and finding just the right match -- then they dropped me on my head. I could have done better picking names out of a phone book. Wondering about the cost? I got 6 loser dates for $2,600!!!! I ask for 3 criteria fit, over 5 10, and college educated. None of the sparse profiles they sent to me met these criteria. When I called to ask why they said I should be opened minded. I said with 2700 I was told by them I could be very selective because they were a professional matchmaking service. They didn't return calls. I didn't get one single date. Worst experience I have ever had with any business. My matchmaker was about 21 and obviously had never been taught her job or customer respect. It was ok, I provided feedback, 'to make my matches better'....went on a second date -- it was the worst date I'd ever been on. It goes on and on. After being a part of several online matchmaking sites, I decided to try my hand at It's Just Lunch in Dallas. I am not a spring chicken anymore, and really looking forward to a relationship that will lead to marriage. After several conversations with a dating coordinator and two different meetings to "make sure" I was the type of guy they were looking for to set me up with several prospective "clients", I felt like things may be different. Boy, was I ever wrong! Other than the first date, which I actually enjoyed being around someone of the caliber I desired, I never met another woman who was anywhere close to what I was looking for. After several dates with women who were never anywhere near the type I had discussed about in the initial meetings, I called to let them know that I was displeased with their service and promised to set me up with someone more of what I desired. Lo and behold, on my last date, they said she was a ballerina on the phone. When I went to ask this lady about performing as a ballerina, her face was in shock and awe with a laugh louder than the place we were at. Not to mention the place was very crowded and loud to begin with music blaring in my ears it was hard to get a conversation. They set you up in "popular" places, but every one of these places have a decibel level of 80 or more. That's industrial noise level. It is very hard to get a word in, much less to carry a conversation worth having and remembering. These ladies who run IJL in DFW are nothing more than attractive ladies who will sugarcoat you to saying they have several people to your liking when in reality they don't. As for me, I know I am an attractive guy. And to set me up with women who are twice, and even in some cases, three times the size I am is not going to fly. It was very disheartening. Also, women with bitterness and self esteem issues won't fly either. I am not saying I am perfect because I am not. However, I did spell it out in very simple English what my heart's desire for the type of woman I desired to be around with. I trusted them to show me their best singles in Dallas when all they did was show me duds. To put it in plain English for those of you on the fence of joining IJL because you are lonely, know this: do not give your money away to pretty little liars who sugarcoat everything because it is all a façade. All they are interested in is to pay their bills and for you to pay for their luxurious lifestyles. If you seen one of these ladies, you will see they are high maintenance and have absolutely no soul about them. Once you sign the contract with IJL, you have been hooked. The finance company they are with will have a death grip on your finances. I got charged 18% on top of the original agreed amount. Just a fair warning to those of you wanting to join. Use your head and spend your $2000 for a better cause. There are other social organizations to check out in Dallas and Fort Worth that are better off for you.
