We just pulled our son out from this daycare last week due to neglect, emotional and physical…read moreabuse. I do want to mention that when we started him there 10 months ago, it was like a completely different daycare that we loved. We were very impressed with Symone (the director) and Kathleen (a teacher). However, Symone left the daycare a few months ago, and we started seeing dramatic changes in our son as he started to dread going. He would cry every day and beg not to go. He started saying that Ms. Chloe won't talk to him and she yells at kids. I found out that Ms. Chloe had actually been fired by Symone for how she treated kids. But that Angela, the owner, hired her back once Symone left. One day when I picked up our son, he was just standing in the classroom hysterically crying while two teachers that I hadn't seen before were sitting against the wall on their phones and could not tell me what had happened or why my son was so upset. From then on, I started logging on to their video app during the day to watch how he was doing. On the morning of October 1st, I watched as Ms. Chloe lined all the kids up, except the little boy in the corner and they went outside. I continued to watch as both the Preschool and Pre-K rooms were completely empty. The boy wandered around the room alone, to the other room and into the lobby for over 15 minutes until another teacher came in from outside to get him. I have attached screen shots that I took because I was so alarmed by this. I continued to watch for days and would notice that they had started combining two of the classrooms and there would be 15 or 17 kids to ONE teacher. I never saw learning activities going on anymore. The TVs were constantly on and the teachers would be on their phones not paying attention to the kids. Last week, I logged on and was watching as Ms. Chloe was making all of the kids lay down (it was in the morning before lunch, so it was not even nap time). I watched as one little boy was laying by the wall with his legs up in the air against the wall. Ms. Chloe charged across the room, grabbed the boy by his ankle, yanked to spin him around and threw his foot/ankle to the ground very aggressively. Since then, we have been made aware that the children no longer do the curricular work they were doing months ago (we suspected this as our son no longer brought home worksheets or art projects), that they eat the same cheap things for lunch all of time, that some of the teachers get hired on before they even pass their background checks and that this daycare center has previously been on probation by the DHHS because some teachers have been physically aggressive with the children, such as slamming them on the floor for "time out". Angela, the owner does not care about the children, she only cares about getting money. There were a number of times during our 10 months there that we would get overcharged and my husband had to go in and get it corrected. We still love Kathleen and were sad to leave her, but we did not feel that our son was safe with Angela, the owner or the other teachers, especially Chloe.

Where to start..... If you want the short version, this is the most amazing preschool out there and…read moreANY CHILD would be lucky to get a spot there. I toured more than 10 preschools between Omaha and Phoenix and not one compares to Bluebird, including three other Montessori Preschools. We are on our second child at Bluebird, it simply has been life changing for our family and I would give it 10 stars if I could. Every staff member knows every student and they are all great individuals, not to mention it's the same group as when my son started. In other preschools we tried we've experienced high turnover, and since children thrive on consistency, it really interrupts the learning and experience they are they for. We have the option to have kept the kids home doing a home-school preschool but what Bluebird offers teaching the Social, Emotional, Intellect and Independence could absolutely not be matched. I believe THE WAY THEY TEACH and THE TEAM they have in place is what sets them apart, I can not say enough about the staff. The Director is phenomenal, the owner is there all of the time, maybe every day and the teachers and their assistants are just great at what they do. It's not too big and that's why it's like a little family, a family we are SO GRATEFUL TO BE A PART OF!!!

Parents Beware I've…read morebeen waiting to write this review as directed by Child Protective Services (CPS) for fear of interfering with their investigation. See this picture. This happened at Blue Bird Montessori. There were only 5 kids in the classroom with 2 teachers and they say they have no idea how it happened. Nobody saw or heard anything. This is not a simple bruise or small scratch. This is BIG. During their investigation CPS did find "a toy box with rough edges that *daughter* could have placed her hand in which could have produced those large scratches on her forearm (from her elbow to her wrist)." When you send your child to daycare you expect they'll be cared for. If they would have told us this happened that day we would have been understanding. But to avoid the blame and responsibility by claiming to know nothing is much worse. This shows neglect and it raises the question about what they're hiding. For example, the next day our daughter got a small scratch near her eye and they told us about it. Understandable. Later the same week (January 7, 2021) she had some red marks on her cheek from placing her face on the snow trying to eat it. They also told us about it and filled out an incident report. OK, but this raised another concern. How much was she putting her face in the snow? Were the caretakers watching? Why wasn't she redirected to do something else? January 7 was the last straw and our daughter's final day attending Blue Bird. If your child currently attends Blue Bird please ask yourself if you've seen any signs of neglect or unusual happenings. If you're considering sending your child here just know you may not get the care your child deserves or the full story from them. Look at the picture of my daughter's arm. This happened at Blue Bird Montessori and nobody claims to know how it happened. Is this incompetence, laziness or something else? Is this the care you want your child to receive?
