No Yorkie should be cut this short. He looked like a chihuahua. He was in so much pain from the razor burn that he couldn't sit or lay on his belly for hours. I put cold clothes on his tummy to try to help with the burn. He shook for 24 hours. I wasn't going to complain because I took me previous dog there and I always had good experiences but who ever is grooming there these days does not know what they're doing.

The kennels are situated in a grove of trees which would be advantageous in the summer. Our Springers got a private kennel area consisting of 8'x10' indoor and an 8'x10' outdoor space. Twice a day they got an hour or more of exercise time in a large yard with the staff. The gal who helped us was sweet; the kind of person who loves their job. The prices were ~$20 less/day than we found in Victoria. I think it was about $40/day for both dogs at Puppy Love. The kennels are conveniently located on your way into town from Swartz Bay and we felt that the drive to pick them up was worth it even though we were heading out to Port Angeles. Baby Dog was the one that was recommended over and over again without hesitation. We've now been going to weekly sessions for three months and my dog while having mastered what they teach loves the class so much that we just keep coming. When I pull up in front of the class she knows what we're there for and her excitement is off the charts. Aviva and her team run amazing classes and they should be the go to for every new puppy owner in Victoria. I studied to be a dog trainer 17 years ago when considering a career change. That said, I have learned a ton from Aviva while having our pup trained and her approach and explanations are much more effective and in line with what dogs need, than what I was originally taught. We are very luck to have Baby Dog as a resource.

They offer excellent quality food, treats and supplies at a fair price. I recently bought a harness that seemed to fit in the store, but on our first walk proved to not be the right fit for my girl. They took it back without any problems and incredibly suggested a harness that while they didn't carry it, would probably be a better option for us. What is really impressive is just how much they know about all of the products they sell and how important it is to them that you get what you need. The chains in town like Bosley's and Petsmart are just about moving product and really don't care that much about service and quality, which is not the case here.
