Stopped by on a whim, hoping it would be open, but knew it probably wouldn't. It was Mother's Day, and I had my Mom with me and knew she would appreciate this type of place, so I surprised her with it as we were driving by. Even though it was closed, the entire property was a work of art itself, with amazing details of Wood and skilled artistry mingled throughout the property. Would love to visit sometime when it's open... Beautiful place! read more

Eclectic burl wood shop, cool gallery space and house. Lots of treehouses adorn the property, be sure to look up! The yard has outdoor wood projects, wood piles and wood creations pretty much wherever you look. There is a raw lumber and forest material lot in the back of the place as well with very reasonable prices on slabs and burls. Be sure to check out the gallery space as well, amazing wood working everywhere. Rocking chairs, wall pieces, clocks, mirrors, slab tables, craved pieces and artisan woodworking knick knacks abound. This cool family run and operated woodworking shop and gallery is definitely worth a visit whenever you find yourself on the 199 driving through Kerby. Very friendly and helpful staff with nice artisan woodworking and raw materials for sale. 4 Stars - cool treehouses 00522 read more

What a fun stop! I noticed this hidden gem as we drove out to the coast, and convinced my family that a stop on the way home was necessary. The craftsmanship alone is spectacular; however the tree-houses (open to the public) were "AWESOME", according to our four year old. There are lots of nooks and crannies...and it seems that most of the buildings are open for viewing. They have some knock knacks in the $5-$50 range (coasters, simple carvings) along with lots of different burl art (carved faces, mirrors, furniture, etc.) in the $100-2K range. You won't be disappointed...fun for the whole family! read more

This place is NUTS! So many cool things made out of wood I can't even begin to describe them. I seen a bicycle made out of wood, about a dozen people made out of wood, awesome tables, chairs, coat hangers, table pieces, jewelry, ornaments, swing sets, golf carts, ..... I could go on forever and forever just as this place does. You really have to come see to believe! This place has everything imaginable made out of wood, and whoever creates this stuff could probably make anything you wanted..custom! He's a genius, whoever he is. If you ever get the chance, stop by here and check it out. You're welcome! read more

What a cool store. There were so many things I would have loved to have brought home and I'm not even a huge fan of this style or burl wood. I am in utter awe of the talent! The gentleman working there was extremely nice, knowledgeable and talented since many of the pieces he created. A must stop if you are traveling by! read more

AMAZING and Beautiful wood art! I've been to 1/2 a dozen other burl art stores and Nothing compares. We go out of our way when in OR just to go to the store and walk around. We bought fountains the last time and are very very happy with our purchases. Can't wait to go back! read more

Amazing! Loved it! Gets your creative juices flowing. "Every one is a artist" was the response I got when asking a man who worked there if he was the artist. Worth stopping to see this unique place! read more

Some beautiful wooden sculptures and designs from some local artists. Everyone we talked to was very cool and down to earth. Out back they have a woodshop with burl available for purchase, which was very cool. This place is definitely worth a stop if you enjoy woodworking read more

This place is so cool!!! I took my boyfriend and we loved it. I bought two burls (large) and I'm making tables with them. Beautiful place, and friendly chill people. The plain unfinished burl slabs are well priced and worth it. They have a large selection of unfinished pieces if you are feeling creative. The finished furniture is a little expensive but breath taking. Must see if you live in the area or are traveling through. read more

Great place. Staff were very helpful. Everything looks awesome and the tree houses are really cool. Can't wait to visit again

So I'm driving down route whatever and my lady is not paying much attention and I see purple water pouring out of a burlwood fountain and then I see a wood car in the air.... :0 ...... I say, " did you see that "....of course not. I say we are going back. I flip a u turn and we go back and it was so worth it. The young kid was super knowledgeable and helpful. It is amazing what they do with this wood. The property is decorated fun and cool, great for pictures too. read more

First time I stopped was in 1981 or 82. They served us lemonade and he rode a 8ft high bike around for the kids. It has been almost 20 years since I was there but would recommend it as a stop for anyone traveling that way. It is a wood worker/artiest dream place so much to look at to compare works and the shopping was fantastic for rough materials. I bought a lot of raw materials there. read more

We did not have a very good experience at "its a burl" They keep their guard dogs on property and they were very intimidating. We were told to be careful around them. The person waiting on us was rude to us and other customers. Once i got home i saw he overcharged me by 10 dollars read more

One of the top ten wonders of the West Coast! This place hasn't changed over the years...it's still as fantastic as ever. Years of collecting and working with local wood, the layout offers an hour of two of wandering around in a indoor/outdoor shop that is a world in and of itself. The owner is philosophical, the dogs (at least when I last visited) hung around the work areas, but added a friendly touch to the grounds. There are hundreds of beautiful pieces for the home or yard, side shops with local crafts and jewelry, bins filled with burls and twisted sticks for one's own art project. The only thing I'd recommend you look out for are the carpenter ants. They are in some pieces of the wood, and will need to be coaxed out before you take the pieces home. read more
