Marco Polo is our favorite pizza restaurant in Cuernavaca…read more The pizzas are delicious. I love the four cheese with bacon and onion. But pretty much anything you order is going to be delicious. They have a variety of Italian dishes, pasta and salads too. Their wine list is extensive. Their service is always spot-on. But what makes Marco Polo unique is it's location and the view of the cathedral, especially from one of the balcony tables. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is cute with both indoor and outdoor seating (out on the patio and upstairs…read morebalcony); however, the pasta was absolutely TERRIBLE. We ordered the tri pasta (marinara fettuccine, a pesto spaghetti, & some sort of ravioli) and a pesto pasta (I chose fettuccine), and both plates were not only BLAND, but all the pasta was overcooked. In Italy, pasta is cooked al dente, which means 'to the bite.' There's a slight chewiness to the pasta. The pasta here is most certainly not al dente. Who wants to eat soggy pasta?! Even the Japanese know how to cook pasta. I think the chefs at Marco Polo should travel to Italy, dine on the pasta there, take a cooking lesson, and learn to bring the techniques from Italy back to Cuernavaca. The calamari plate was also disappointing -- the calamari needs to be crispier. These were rubbery. Also, the baked potato was bland. As for drinks: both mango margarita and mango mezcalita were tasty. Service was prompt and attentive. Until Marco Polo improves their "Italian" cooking skills, yourself the time, money, and appetite by dining elsewhere.

Probably one of the best dining expriences we've had so far in CDMX. I started with a mezcalito…read moreberry which was strong on the smokiness of mezcal. They serve us focaccia bread, pretty tasty, and some (way too salty) fried onion pieces. To eat, I had pasta alla ruota con truffle oil. Absolutely amazing! Creamy and filling. They give house focaccia bread with onion crisps and butter! That was soo delicious!! Everything together is *chefs kiss*! For appetizers we got the arancini Nero which was the squid ink risotto with octopus inside! It was so good!! We also ordered the mozzarella and tomato which is like a caprese salad but served hot!! We also got the gnocchi with Gouda and the de fungi pasta! Both were sooooooo good!!! It looks so simple but it's packs the flavor!! Also got the octopus risotto with the side salad. We were thinking that maybe we will skip the side salad because we have so much food, but we tried it and it didn't disappoint!! The dressing was so simple but so good!! Of course we also got the fig pizza and that was also *chefs kiss* as well! Everything from the fig, to the Gorgonzola cheese, to the honey and arugula, and down to the pizza crust were all sooo well put together!!! Last but not least, we also got the tiramisu!! It was a must!!! Even though we were so full, we had to get the dessert for the full experience!! The restaurant was really nice and had a great date night feeling! It's like you just stepped away to Italy for a little bit while having dinner! Workers were friendly and some spoke English as well so we were very grateful! Overall one of the best experience at an Italian restaurant!! If you're in the area, definitely check them out! You will not be disappointed!!

This place was so nice, I ate there twice!! I was in Mexico…read moreCity for a week, and as much as I love Mexican food, I was ready for something different and as usual, Italian food was calling! I took a stroll in the historic district And came across a charming Italian restaurant called Nonsolo. The prices were moderate, the place looked inviting and so I decided to take a chance. It was my lucky day! Nonsolo Is right in the heart of the historical Zolaco. It has an old world charm and an inviting menu. As soon as I walked in I got a really nice vibe and liked my waitress. She spoke a little English and I spoke a little Spanish, and between the two of us we were able to communicate. I'm not so crazy about a QR code menu, but this seems to be standard fare these days. It was hard getting a signal on my phone to view the menu, so she signed me into their internet Wi-Fi and then there was no problem. I ordered pasta with clams in a white clam sauce. And of course, a Coke zero! While I was waiting, I enjoyed the bread and butter and taking in all the people strolling by. The pasta was really delicious and I hated to see the bowl empty. I sat for a while looking at the people in the street and took in the wonderful ambiance and that delicious meal before I headed to Ballet Folklorico. I would say my only criticism was that they charge 45 pesos for a small Coke zero which is the equivalent of $2.50. The pasta dish itself which was around $13 US dollars was well worth it. That was so delicious. Considering I almost always order an Italian dish with marinara sauce, it's a big compliment to Nonsolo to say I really loved the meal lol The place had been on my mind for 2 days and last night when it was my final night in Mexico City I decided to go back one more time and taste something with red sauce! I had spaghetti bolognese and it was also delicious. This time I decided to sit at a table outside and it was very enjoyable looking at all the passerbys and also I got entertained by a young man singing "My Way" in Spanish and a guitarist who played some traditional Mexican tunes. I gave them each a tip which I know they appreciated. After sitting for a while and enjoying the meal and experience, I headed over to the Palace of Fine Arts to see the national symphony play. All in all a great evening! So there you have it folks. If you get tired of tacos and quesadillas and tortillas, head over to Nonsolo and have a wonderful Italian experience! Ciao and adios!

both times i went was able to be seated with short wait and no reservation…read more atmosphere good, service good. food ; spaghetti bolanese was to spicy for my taste, excellent caesar salad and it comes with chicken and cannelloni with spinach and ricotta was just ok. prices are reasonable and even tho nothing special i would return
